I discovered that my water service was leaking, between the meter at the street and my house.  A friend had hired Dennis recently and was pleased with the experience, so I called him.  He came out promptly and gave me some parameters of why the job might entail, all in generalities.  He also suggested a couple of companies which can detect leak locations, which was very helpful.  Once that was done and the specific location was marked out in blue paint, Dennis and I discussed the job and arranged for him to be here today.  Although his assistant was ill and not available for work, Dennis nonetheless arrived, dug up the water service line at the painted mark and promptly fixed the leak.  He backfilled the hole and was on his way before lunchtime.
