Tom was great to work with through the whole process and we'd definitely recommend him to friends/family (in fact, we already have)!
Tom gathered a lot of information during the estimate to make sure he understood what we wanted done. He came out himself for the estimate and did the work himself (with one other worker helping him). We liked that b/c we knew nothing was going to be lost in translation from a salesman giving an estimate and then a work crew showing up weeks later to do the job that we've never met. Onsight, he was always pleasant and professional. Tom did a good job communicating with us, so we knew what was going on and what to expect. Once he got to work, his quality and pride in the work he showed through. There were small things that I wouldn't have noticed that he took the extra time to do right b/c he treated it like it was his place - for example, some extra work caulking between a lot of beadboards on the porch ceiling that really made it look nice. He also pointed out some non-paint related potential problems that could save us in the long run like the need to seal corners of gutters that would drip onto wood trim in certain areas - helping maintain our investment better was much appreciated. Finally, he did a lot of other small things that we really appreciated including when it unexpectedly rained over the weekend, he came over on a Saturday morning to put the downspouts back up that had been removed for painting.
On top of all that, Tom honored his estimate. He stuck to his bid which was very important to us. I've heard horror stories of contractors nickle and diming and ultimately adding hundreds/thousands of dollars to the estimate when it's all said and done. None of that was an issue with Tom. We love how our house looks, had a great experience working with Tom, and would recommend him to anyone looking for a painter.

It was wonderful. He was very responsive and very professional. They have been very, very responsive. The total bill is going to be about $7000. They were very personable and on time, did what they said they would do and made suggestions that were quite appropriate in improving the outside look of the house. They suggested that painting the cement stoop leading up to the house would be an improvement, they did it and it really was, so that suggestion was helpful. They do professional painting at a fair price and they do good work. It was a very good experience. We had other quotes and they were right in the ballpark.

They were completely professional, and the work was done on time. Their painting is absolutely spectacular, and they are coming again in a few weeks to paint the exterior!

This was not the first time Tom painted for us. He did the exterior of our house prior to this last job. His first job for us several years before the exterior was to oil paint all our interior woodwork (wainscoting, window trims, bookshelves, French doors, etc.). Tom is the consummate professional. He does extremely careful work. He has also made color suggestions, when we asked for advice, and he was absolutely correct in every case. He has a good eye for color. If you ask his opinion, he will be honest, and we have appreciated his suggestions. He usually works with at least one, sometimes two employees. His exterior work on our home has never bubbled or peeled, unlike other homes on our street whose houses have been done after our home and are already peeling. When a section of our bathroom paint started peeling a few months after Tom painted it, he came back and repainted the area with a new paint at no charge.
