I ordered from these guys back in Nov. on their website.  In order to
pay for my order, I had to mail in a check.  This process ended up
taking about a week and a half.  When they delivered the wood, they did
not so much as knock on the door, but rather, they plopped it right in
the driveway.  I ordered 2 pallets of apple and 1 pallet of fir/pine.
The pallet of fir/pine was mostly less than 4".  What I ordered was
supposed to be 4" to 10" rounds.  I called Tim, and he replaced the
pallet for free.  He brought it out by hand.  At that point, I was
satisfied.  The wood burned well and I liked the idea of it coming on
pallets with known dimensions.
I placed a new order for 3 pallets
of apple and 2 pallets of fir/pine on 3/12.  I sent in the check and I
haven't heard back from them yet.  It has been two weeks.  I tried to
contact via website email with no response and I tried to call the toll
free number which has been disconnected.  This morning, I cancelled the
check I sent them and I'm now looking for another source.

Submitted order for firewood and got a confirmation receipt. No word from them for almost a full week and when called I was informed that they didn't have any wood available for purchase but would call me when they did. That was a few months ago and haven't heard a peep from them.

Terrible. Would not recommend. After almost 3 months I still have not received any part of my order and I have canceled it.

Don't hold your breath waiting for a call back. I ordered online and after no call back or contact for over a week, I ordered again and filled out the contact form. I finally called them to be told that they're not delivering wood and don't know if or when they might be delivering, but if I want to call back in a week, they may know more.  Well, no, I don't want to keep begging this company to be professional and simply call me back so I will do business elsewhere.  If they don't intend to be in business any longer, it should be a simple matter to update or take down their website. This was an experience in unprofessionalism and if the business can't even return a call or send me an email, I wouldn't want to do business with them anyway.  Too bad....I was impressed with initial reviews.

The wood was excellent quality, cherry wood and fir/pine.  Firstly, there is some incorrect information on the website, which explained why I didn't hear back from them for a few days.  I called the next day and asked when my wood would be delivered, so they threw me on the next delivery date for my city, which was in only 3 days.  Their website has a chart for what day you will be delivered according to what day you place your order, usually a 2-3 day window.  This is incorrect, as I got a call a few days later for them to deliver my wood in about 2 weeks' time.  I was due to receive my wood that day, so when she checked on it she saw that it was on the truck and on the way.  Seems to be some administrative breakdown, but you can usually expect some of that with vendors.
They delivered them on pallets, and I got the quantity I paid for, although one pallet was a little light because the board they used to brace the side was leaning in a little, about 4-5 inches from halfway up.  Not a significant amount, and it was the cheaper fir wood, but I can see it being a concern.  The wood was wrapped in plastic, and tightly stacked.  Refreshing change.
The fir is a little ragged, with things sticking out all over it, hard to stack, but is well-seasoned and burns well.  The cherry is more even, and most are not split as these are smaller circumfrence trees and most are under 6 inches across.  Both woods are seasoned, and the right size for burning, if a little short.  Most wood should be cut 12-16 inches long by industry standards, so this would fall a little below that, but at least you are getting a full cord.
I will be buying my wood from them again next year, and would recommend using them.

If you are waiting for them to get back to you, its not worth the wait! The quality of the wood is terrible. More than half of the wood was less than 2 inches in diameter, meaning lots of tending to the fire to keep it burning. The website promises that it will be between 3 and 7 inches, but it is definitely not! Also, much of it is wet and it's clearly not season18 months as promised. I would strongly recommend using a different provider for anyone who has not gotten their wood for the season yet.

Something is definitely up with this company. Much like the other two F ratings, I submitted an online request...did not hear back. Called about a week later, spoke to a woman who assured me that the owner would be calling me directly, that was 7 days ago. I have taken my business elsewhere.

Quite possibly the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have made so many phone calls? not only to the answering service but to the owner as well. The answering service was extremely rude each time I called and I finally was able to get through to the owner who kept ?assuring? me each time I called how much he wanted my business. And that ?soon? the wood would be delivered?Well it has now been almost 2 months?no phone calls, no wood?.I called the answering service and cancelled today and went with another company who will be delivering the firewood on Monday. I am not sure how this company stays in business. I will tell anyone I know to go elsewhere!

Everything went well. The wood is dry and seasoned and burns great. We had been using the same company for almost 10 years for our firewood, but the owner retired. Since then we have used a couple of other companies and have not been happy with the quality of the wood. I am happy and relieved to have found the Wood Guys through Angie's List, and will definitely order from them again next year.

The Bad: The service person seemed a little cranky. I was putoff by this but see the good. The Good: The wood they delivered is great wood. Also, if you take a full chord, pricing is competitive. I would say it's not competitive on a half chord. However, the wood is great - definitely seasoned. The other thing that I think is important to know - my father-in-law has bought a lot of firewood and I've aborbed a lot over 20 years from him. For him, buying firewood was like a sport. In any case, this is the one thing I've learned: 80% of people who sell you firewood short you. No one actually delivers a chord or half chord when that is when you order it. So, the other thing I learned from him is to acurately measure the volume of wood when you get it. Ultimately, over 20 years what we found was that in most cases the guys who quoted the real price but delivered an actual chord or half chord are the best value. So, these guys delivered good wood, and they delivered the actual quantity. And they paletize it so it's really easy to measure. (We would always measure after we stacked it.) So, back to the bad: Now I think the cranky service lady is kind of endearing because she's probably sick of quoting a price that is competing against the other 80% of folks who short you. So, she's not going to win most charming but good wood, good service and they actually deliver the amount of wood they agreed upon which is in fact not the norm. I am not a cheerleader for these guys but because I've bought a LOT of wood, I appreciate that these guys are not cheating.

Compared to my previous buying experiences, all from local individuals, The Wood Guys delivered 1) more wood - on their truck is tightly stacked wood as opposed to a truck filled with tossed in wood, you can fit more than 50% more wood into a truck volume when it is stacked, 2) drier wood - they claim it's aged 1.5 years and comes from dry Eastern WA - it does look very dry, much drier than anything I've bought before, 3) the apple 1/2 cord was 100% apple and the fir/pine mix was just that, no alder or cedar mixed in as has happened with some of the previous people I've dealt with. When I checked prices for a cord of firewood this season I found prices ranging from around $200 to $300; the Wood Guys is at the top end of that scale but I think it's worth it. Definitely a better value than my previous firewood buying experiences. I contacted them through their web site - their order form gives you an itemized listing of the cost; they called me a few hours later to set up a delivery time (a 5 hour span) and delivered the wood 3 days later at the expected time. Although they sell wood by the half cord, you want to buy whole cords otherwise they hit you with am extra $50 delivery charge.
