Rick and his team were absolutely fantastic to work with. I checked references up front and was told he was a great contractor, and my experience was no different. Rick is extremely experienced and unlike many contractors, he stays primarily on a single job until it's done and participates in the work himself, especially carpentry. I solicited three contractor quotes. Rick's was the lowest by far--the spread between bids was almost $200k! Rick stated that his quote was a bid, and he stayed true to that throughout the project. I added extra budget to the project for upgrades to certain items, but I was happy to do so given that I knew the bid was reasonable and reliable. His core team consists of a tight-knit group of family and friends, all of whom are great to work with and really professional. While he did sub out electrical, plumbing, trusses, and other major tasks, having a core team on site every day kept the work going smoothly. The project took four-five months to complete, largely due to delays with permit approval in the (unbelievably bureaucratic) city of Kirkland. Rick was patient but I believe had this not happened he would have finished much earlier. The issues with the city were not due to the quality of Rick's work. Rick is a low key guy with high quality expectations. He did not spend excess time on documentation. I did not use an interior designer but rather did most of the choices myself. Rick was happy to work with me on this and shared my sense of quality and value for money. All in all--I would (and will) work with Rick again in a heartbeat.

He did a nice job and he was creative. He did outside work and I did not have to be there, he came by my house for the money. He is good and he will go above and beyond what think he is going to do. He came through for me when I could not find anybody else. I know he was busy so he did it on some down time. He is reliable.

Rick did an outstanding job and the whole experience would have us use Tachell Construction again.

Tachell construction exceeded my expectations in all aspects of this project.  Mr. Tachell provided a very competitive bid, proposed design enhancements for our gutter system to eliminate known problems, worked with us to select the best materials, and installed the new roof, gutters and downspouts within budget and on the schedule we agreed to.  His craftsmanship is excellent.  We have received many comments on how nice the completed job looks.  Mr. Tachell is very professional and a nice person to work with.  He was very considerate of our home and those that he came in contact with.  I would not hesitate calling on Tachell construction again for any size job.

Rick Tachell was extremely easy to work with; very flexible; had excellent knowledge of what was involved, needed, and appropriate; and did exactly what he said he would do making sure everything was to our satisfaction before asking for final payment.

I had a great experience.  He did everything he said he'd do on time, neatly and professionally.I didn't have a real vision of what I wanted. He went shopping with me and we picked out tiles and fixtures that would work. I relied on his expertise. His design was perfect.  Everyone who has seen it raves. I wanted strong safety handles, but wasn't sure what size or where they should go.  He placed them exactly in the right spot. Rick was easy to work with.  He's a nice guy who cares about what he does.  I communicated via email a few times and he responded immediately. I would use his company again.

I thought that they were really professional and I appreciated how timely they were.  The cost was actually very reasonable as well.  They were really funny and fun to work with and I felt comfortable having them in my home, which makes a big difference to, so that was really nice.  It was really a positive experience for sure.  I plan on using them again as soon as I can afford another upgrade to the house.
