I received a quote from this company and then never heard back from the representative. When I called him he gave me some lies about talking to the owner and they decided to not pursue my project because of concerns over lead paint, even though they never tested my paint. In reality the person giving the quote Hal Olson messed up and way underbid the project after getting some comparable quotes. This company is unprofessional and didn't follow through at all. I would not recommend them or trust them to be honest.

I found Rain City Exteriors through James Hardie website and requested an estimate. We wanted to re-sheet the house, replace our sidings with new fiber cement sidings, have the siding painted, and install new gutters, a new front door and few windows. Their price was affordable, beating major competitors like Home Depot and Lowes. We decided to go with them since they had top rated reviews, were a local company (from Kirkland, Wa) and they had their own crews (with clean back ground checks). Make it short, they started the project right on time, and finished it on time on budget. Not only they did not cut corners, they did extra work for us like replacing the rotten fascia. Everyone that we worked with or talked to was very polite and professional, including Jose (owner), Guillermo (sales person) and the crew. I very happy with the project outcome, thanks to Rain City Exteriors…

The Rain City Exteriors Team recently did some work for a new school we opened in Bellevue WA. The front of the large building needed siding about three feet down to close a large gap from building to ground and it needed to match the existing exterior already in place from years back. Additionally, the job needed to be completed in an extremely short time frame. Not only did they complete the job quickly, they matched the existing siding to where you cannot tell the difference. They did an amazing job. Their product was superb, their trustworthiness and commitment to excellence over exceeded what I have seen with other companies. Thank you for a job well done! We hired Rain City Exteriors to coordinate a large remodel of the exterior of our home which included a new roof, removal of two layers of siding and window trim, blown-in insulation, new Hardie window trim, 6 new windows, new Hardie siding, new gutters and fresh paint. Guillermo was super easy to deal with during the quoting process and answered a lot of detailed questions I had. They worked with us to schedule work to begin and be continuous throughout so that we wouldn't have interrupted service. We were very happy with the quality of all the components of our remodel. The largest portion of work had to do with removal and replacement of the window trim and siding. The 2 person team was wonderful. Arrived on time daily, were very respectful of our neighbors, apprised me of concerns as they were discovered and cleaned up at the end of each day. They were lovely to work with and I felt as if they were treating my home as if it were there own...and the results showed it. This was an expensive remodel that we had been saving for for several years...to find such a great group to work with and see such terrific results was great. I would recommend them to anyone.

We first became aware of Rain City Exteriors through another home owner in our city who gave them their highest recommendation. From beginning to end, Rain City employees gave us excellent customer support and did a quality job of construction, siding, and painting. Our home required more than just siding, as we needed repair work on some areas. The men were very skilled at fixing these areas. We were so impressed by their quality workmanship and hard work ethic. Every day the workmen cleaned up the job site when they were done and they truly exceeded our expectations. We recommend them highly.

When we discovered extensive rot damage to our home after removing an old deck, we were distraught. Many companies offered to do structural repairs or siding and paint, but not both. Moreover, those companies carried large project minimums, which would have forced us to throw away thousands to have our serious issue addressed. Enter Rain City. Guillermo, our project coordinator, offered to come out and see our project in person the day after our call, and was able to get a crew out to make the repairs that same week. The work was fast, but thorough - the Rain City crew even identified and fixed a number of additional siding and flashing issues around our house that we weren't aware of. Perhaps best of all, the minimum project size was reasonable: we didn't have to throw away any money for their services. If you find yourself needing home exterior help on short notice or small scale, give Rain City Exteriors a call - you won't regret it!

My wife and I were hopeful when we booked Rain City to work on windows (16 windows) and to replace our front porch, which was leaking down into the basement. We decided to go with Rain City after reading reviews online and comparing prices with other companies. In the end, our enthusiasm and excitement were grossly checked. The big sell for us was that they would work on our porch which needed immediate work. We also liked that the sales rep wasn’t too pushy. We also plan to get new siding, and we were hoping that Rain City would work out for this later project. Timeline and communications seemed to be the biggest issues for us. We signed on with them August 1st. The sales rep assured us that we would receive a phone call from the project manager in 48 hours. That didn’t happen. We ended up having to contact the sales rep to get the project manager to come out two weeks after signing. We were told it would take 4-5 weeks to build the windows and that they would be back to install them roughly at the end of September/beginning of October. We had also been told by the sales rep that the whole project would take 5 days total (3 days to install windows and 2 days for the porch). When the windows (11 of the total) were delivered to our doorstep in mid-October, they said they would be out to work the next day, a Friday. They didn’t end up coming until the following Tuesday afternoon. In about 2 and a half days of work, they installed the 11 windows (we still had some windows not delivered) and they took off the railing of our porch. During this time, they installed a wrong window that was not included in the contract. When we saw this, we were very confused how they could’ve installed a completely wrong window not on the order. (Luckily for us, they offered to leave it in at no cost.) They also broke a window pane installing the window. (We brought this to their attention and they promised this would be fixed—which it was eventually fixed in January). Then we didn’t see them until November, when they came back to work on the porch and to fix the window sills. (We had to ask them to fix the window sills, since we complained to them that the insulation in our walls was exposed where gaps between the window and the sills were. It seemed to us, if we hadn’t complained, this wouldn’t have been fixed.) They also returned in December to finish the remaining windows—which in October or November, the project manager disclosed to us that they had forgotten to order these windows. In the end, it was an exhaustive process working with Rain City. Besides not communicating very well when they would arrive to our house to work, it was sometimes hard to get messages returned from the project manager. Also it didn’t seem to us that there was good communication on our original contract to the crew (i.e. installing a completely wrong window). Also when we received the final invoice they charged us an exorbitant price for 2 extra windows we had ordered in August after signing the original contract. We had inquired with the project manager throughout the fall to get a cost for these extra 2 windows. We didn’t see the price tag until the final invoice. We had to contest the costs, and they brought the price down to a more reasonable rate and they honored the labor costs outlined in our original contract. They were careful to keep the inside of our house clean, but our yard took some damage—with a couple plants destroyed and lots of small debris not cleaned up. The Rain City employees were all very respectful and friendly, and overall so was the sales rep and project manager. The windows look nice, now that they are done. The porch turned out ok. The craftsmanship of the work will be tested with time.

Our first contact was with Hal, who met us to provide an estimate. He was on-time and collected information on the shingle repair. We later decided to expand the scope of the project to include paint, and he met with us again to revise and update the estimate. He was very responsive to email and calls when questions came up. The pricing was competitive, and scheduled the work to complete by end of September, Hal stopped by again in person to drop of some paint samples. Aldo, the foreman, contacted me by phone and email to select colors and met me on site for him to review the work. The crews were able to start early, and the job was completed by mid-September. Each day (weather permitting) the crews arrived and started work consistently. Initially old failing shingles were removed, and then replaced. Each day the work area was cleaned up, leaving just some supplies next our garage. A light power wash followed by careful prep began after shingles were complete. We had some millwork done too, including improvement to a deck railing. Spray was completed quickly, without any issues. Trim took longer as the team was careful. The few small spills were corrected quickly. The crews also replaced/repaired vent louvers damaged by the power wash. I prepared a short punch list of questions and issues for the foreman, which were all completely addressed. We are extremely pleased with the work, and would recommend Rain City to others for siding and exterior painting. It was also very easy to work with all the folks at Rain City--they always responded quickly to any questions on site, by phone or email.

They weren't the lowest bid we received, but we were confident of our choice after meeting with them -- and are VERY happy with the final results. Our positive impression of Rain City began during the bidding process, when we asked how much we could save by tearing off our old aluminum siding and restoring the sheathing ourselves. The answer was startling, especially given that another firm's estimator had simply blinked and said their bid would be unaffected. That also gave us a chance to install several exterior outlets and lights in time to have them properly trimmed out by R.C. Through each phase of the project, Rain City's crew and staff were prompt, courteous, relentlessly professional... and cheerful! Even through long days in crummy weather, they remained hardworking and considerate of our needs (we both work at home, and were mostly in the house throughout the project). We asked for two change orders during the project, both of which were accomplished painlessly and with only minor upcharges. These guys make a reasonable profit, but absolutely defy "greedy contractor" stereotypes. Upon completion, our siding, soffits, and gutters all look rail straight -- even though our home has sagged noticeably in places. The optical illusion is so complete that our 60 year-old house looks brand new. Every penetration is meticulously trimmed and fully waterproofed. Our little house looks so much cleaner and brighter now, with its crisp window detailing and contrasting gable color, that we're a little afraid of our next tax assessment. In fact, we liked Rain City's work so well that when we found out they also build decks, we immediately reengaged them for that project. It also went quickly, painlessly, and came in on budget despite a brief confusion on rail spacing that entailed several hours of re-work. The deck, like the beautiful Hardie siding, makes an impressive upgrade to our modest little house. They didn't make much mess at any point, and even volunteered to haul off leftover debris of ours (in addition to the detritus generated by the deck project) when they cleaned up our site; there was no charge for that. Really just over-the-top service, every step of the way. I would recommend Rain City Exteriors to anybody interested in a quality, timely siding job or deck project. Although our siding was delivered with factory-baked paint, I imagine Rain City's painting crews are as quality-conscious as Jose and his boys were for us. Thanks, Rain City. You guys rock!

My experience with Jose, Fransisco and the entire Rain City team was outstanding. From the time Fransisco showed up on time to bid our project, to the follow up on our quote, to the long days it took to get the job done, the team showed up each and every day (rain or shine) to do the job. I couldn't be more impressed with the knowledge, responsiveness, and professionalism of the team. Great work!!!

We hired Rain City to paint the exterior of our home, our fence and our deck. The quoting process was seamless, they came out twice as we added to our project.  Once the project started, the crew was very professional. The quality of work was exceptional. They didn't cut any corners and were very transparent and open during the process. We changed the color on our home and because the pain was so old, it took them longer than expected on one side of our house because of how the sun hit the home.  They made sure to add the necessary coats to make the house look amazing.  When we moved in, we already had some fencing that the neighbors had done and we build some fencing to close in our back yard. On our neighbors side, they never stained it and the wood was rotten, we didn't know this. Instead of just paining over it, they replaced the wood that was rotten and fixed the problem rather than covering it up.  I really appreciated their honesty and transparency.  Would definitely hire them again for other projects.

Rain City Exteriors did a great job!

Pros: professionalism, quality, customer service and affordable price.

Cons: none that I can think of.

Last month I decided to replace the siding of my house and
contacted 3 local companies specialized on James Hardie (fiber cement) siding
and I am so glad I decided to go with Rain City Exteriors. On the first visit
they evaluated my property and they took the time to explain me all the process
along with the benefits of the fiber cement product. They kindly answered all
my questions (and believe me, I ask a lot) and I never got the ?pushy sales
feeling?, on contrary, my feeling was ?this guys really take the time?.

Talking about time, the timeline for the job was particularly
important to me and they deliver, they finished on time and everything happened
according to schedule. The communication with them during the process was
great, they returned my phone calls and emails promptly, their customer service
is fantastic.

Rain City Exteriors sided and painted my house and I am happy to recommend them. Their bid was reasonable and the final charge was exactly what I expected. This included some repair work which we discussed so there were no surprises. The crew cleaned up every day and Francisco was always prompt to respond when I left a message with a question. My house looks great.

We recently had Rain City replace the siding of our house,
which had water damage. Among several bids, Rain City?s stood out with
reasonable price, detailed breakdowns, and warrantees. Owner Francisco was very
patient with my husband who had LOTS of questions before signing the contract.
The crew did a very nice job; they carefully stripped off only the damaged
sidings instead of tearing everything down so we could save money; they also
kept the job site clean every day. My husband is a hard person to please, but
he is very happy with the result and thinks Rain City does a thorough job. We
would highly recommend Rain City to anyone who needs siding jobs. In fact, we
referred Rian City to one of our neighbors while they were still working on our
project. J

Their crew was very responsive and nice.  If we asked a question or came across something we did not understand or was unclear the guys made sure to work though it with us so we were comfortable that the outcome would meet our expectations.  If they came across something unexpected they would ask us how we wanted to address it instead of making the decision for us, and we really appreciated that approach.

The owners were very active and available, always expressing an interest in ensuring our satisfaction.  Great crew who did a great job... at least one neighbor a day stops when walking by our house to say it looks fantastic... we are finally house proud after years waiting and saving!

Our construction was extremely complicated because the first floor and basement was old construction, and we had added 3" of rock wool insulation outside of the house.  We attached 4" cladding strips to the outside of the insulation and hung the Hardboard siding to those strips.  And that made the window wells extra deep.  Then the new, second floor construction stepped back in since it didn't have the extra insulation. (We found an easier to way to make the walls extra deep from the inside and get the added R value that way.) Flashing was extra challenging, and how to detail the transition from the first to second floor required special attention.

The crew that worked on our house were highly skilled and their attitude was that of really wanting to make the house look great, as well as a pleasure to be around.  They weren't just watching the clock and trying to get the job done! Not that they were slow, either.  At first thee was lots of details that we had to work out.  As we figured those out, the speed picked up.

I had just about hired another sider, and I looked at the houses he had done.  They were OK, but worried me a little--- the caulking and gaps didn't look quite right to me, so the details seemed off a little.  Rain City Exteriors made our house look better than I had imagined.
