Northwest Nuisance Wildlife Control

About us

Northwest Nuisance Wildlife Control is a nuisance wildlife trapping company with 30 years experience that WPC purchased. We will trap nuisance wildlife wherever your need arises. NNWC specializes in live trapping. WPC employs 3 trappers who are fully licensed by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. This is the agency licensing requirement to be able to trap nuisance wildlife legally in the state of Washington. Nuisance wildlife includes: raccoons, opossum, squirrels, beaver, mountain beaver, nutria, muskrats, river otter and bats to name the most common nuisance animals. A very common misconception is that it is legal to use body gripping traps to trap moles. Although many companies still use body gripping traps on moles it is not a legal method of trapping. There is no ambiguity to this; rather it is a fact that can be confirmed by contacting the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. Remember Northwest Nuisance Wildlife Control for all your nuisance wildlife trapping needs!

AVOID this company if you value your time and money. $700 and 2 months later, and my squirrel problem is exactly the same as it was when they started. Search for “Northwest Nuisance Wildlife Control” (their other name) and read the reviews there for more accurate descriptions of their services. A tip: if they reassure you that their methods are reliable and work well, just know that’s NOT TRUE for everyone, and they’ll do absolutely nothing to help you after you’ve already sent them the set-up fees. They caught one squirrel that wasn’t even one of the ones that live in my attic, and left it in the trap a full 24 hours before picking it up, which made all the other squirrels avoid the traps from then on. I’m holding back tears as I write this, because I feel so confused, frustrated and misled, as I try to WFH while listening to the squirrels running around in my attic. Note that the employees I’ve interacted with are friendly and kind. But the company’s management and approach to pest trapping are totally lacking and unhelpful.

Hired Northwest Nuisance Wildlife Control to remove raccoons from my property. After spending over $600 dollars with them, I learned there is no basic customer right with this company. The company will ask for your credit card upfront and charge it however they like. The company comes in and out of your property without notice, remove traps without customer consent, and try to refer to the contract with zero customer service (even for things not covered in the contract). Initially, the company sold the service as keep the trap until the customer agrees to remove them, which gives me a peace of mind. However, one day I received a voicemail informing me the company went into my yard and removed the traps (especially after speaking with the customer service and asking them to keep the traps for another two weeks). The trapper removed my own trap by mistake. After asking the company to return my trap, they charged me for $110 for tampering with traps. If you want to save yourself some headache and money, I recommend to avoid this company.

Nick was very nice, honest and helpful. He was reassuring and solved a very unsettling problem (mama and baby raccoons in my attic!) quickly.

It went extremely well. He arrived promptly and was very polite and professional. When he climbed into the attic to check, the mother raccoon ran out. There were four very large baby raccoons which he removed very gently. I was amazed he was able to catch them. He blocked off the access hole so that the mother could not get back in. He let me know that if the mother is a nuisance he will return. He gave me a bid for the attic clean up and insulation replacement which will be scheduled soon. I would call this company again and will be recommending them to my friends.

He first set humane traps and caught my cat and my neighbor's cat. Both were released. He set a oneway trap from the crawl space to allow any other animals that might be in the crawl space to get out. He then sealed all openings which meant covering a large whole in the wall in my garage and building me a new outside door to the crawl space. He set traps and caught the rats that were living in my crawl space. He also sprayed the crawl space and garage with a nontoxic odor reducer. When My kids saw small tunnels leading from the yard to the foundation, he came back out to make sure the rats were not successful getting back into the crawl space. We have not had a rat problem since.

The service began with a consultation ($250, $100 of which was credited toward services once we hired the company). As the infestation was of major proportions, the plan involved 10 days of trapping. Also, state regs require that traps be checked daily (the cost for this is $125/day). That's why the costs were as high as they were. John, the owner, arrived punctually for the consultation, walked all of the bank and some of the abutting woods, then discussed the advised approach. He clearly explained all aspects of the service and answered all of our questions. The service began within days (as soon as he was able to get the appropriate permit). John arrived everyday to check the traps, and either reported to us (if we were home) or left a sheet detailing what he found that day. In the 10 days, seven were trapped and removed. All traps have now been removed, as it seems that's probably all of them. The company has a 30-day "warranty" once the traps are removed - if there is any further evidence of mountain b***** during that time, the company will place the traps again without charging a set-up fee. (However, the $125 a day charge will again kick-in.) While this is an expensive service, we felt it was a small cost compared to the alternative of losing part of our backyard and having to have major restoration done.
