IRC Kitchen & Bath

This is the second job IRC Tile has completed for me. David Hoblea is extremely professional and conscientious. He assisted me from beginning to end with design ideas, suggestions as to how best utilize the space, and sources for materials. He helped me determine how various choices would affect the project.   He provided a thorough written estimate, included prices for various options so I could determine how my choices would affect the budget.
  The guest bathroom was a complete remodel. His team completed the demolition and removal of materials. They installed tile flooring and tub surround, new tub, new vanity with double sinks, new toilet and all associated plumbing fixtures. They also installed a new vanity and granite countertop, and reconfigured an existing closet to make it more functional.  In the dressing area, they removed the existing vanity and countertop, lighting and wallpaper. They installed a new vanity and granite countertop to coordinate with the previously remodeled bathroom, repaired the drywall, and matched the texture and color of the adjacent walls.
  There were several problems encountered along the way. David connected me to a granite supplier for the countertops in both vanity and dressing area. I initially selected one granite for the bath area, but changed my mind about my selection. David was extremely gracious about the change, and reassured me that he wanted me to have what I wanted and to be satisfied about the selection.  Later on we had to work out a solution to the bathroom closet door, due to its proximity to the main door to the bath. When I chose a bi-fold door for the space, we learned that the size was not a standard size. David was able to find a custom door that has to be special ordered; David explained how the timeline would be affected by my selection. The door arrived as promised, and was installed. When I inspected the door, I realized that it should be installed to open in the other direction in order to avoid colliding with the main door. When I brought it up to David, he was already aware that it might be an issue and arranged immediately to have it changed.
  Throughout the process, he was responsive to questions, communicated with me almost daily. The men working on his team were on time, cleaned up each day after they were done working. They also were respectful and polite, responsive to  my questions when David was not available. The project was completed in a reasonable amount of time despite the job being scheduled between late November and late December. The job was completed before Christmas, which I had set as a deadline.

This was our second job with David (the first being a complete remodel of our kitchen, lr/dr wood floors, and lots of painting). As usual, he and his crew were great to work with. We work with a decorator (Renate Ruby, also excellent), and she and David have gotten into a great rhythm of trading ideas and ensuring reasonable approaches to new work.
This job started out as a simple door & window replacement in a bedroom/office. And then I started with the changes. Each time, David rolled with it and got things scheduled as soon as they could be. Oh, now you don't want to put the old carpet back down and instead go find new carpet that will take a month to get here? No problem. Oh, now you don't like your bathroom vanity anymore and we're doing a bathroom remodel as well? No problem. So you do want us to paint all the trim? And the ceiling? And we need tile? Yes yes yes. The rooms look terrific. David, Emanuel, and the construction guys were all great to work with. I'll definitely be hiring them again.

We were searching for a reputable and reliable tile installer for our two bathrooms and were very pleased with the overall process and results. This was our first tile install project so we were novices in the entire plan. David provided an estimate for his project and gave great initial design recommendations based on his experience in similar layouts. He then put us in contact with an interior designer that gave us the first 6 hours of her time free. We had a fairly good idea of the style we wanted so were able to stay under the six hours.

From there David kept us informed of his install schedule, which was to be in Dec. However, due to another project that was delayed he was able to start on our project before Thanksgiving. All of the work was done very professionally and cleanly. They protected all of our wood flooring, and put up tenting in our bedroom to keep the dust out during the demo and install. His installers kept us aware of the schedule and tweaking of the design to make it look perfect. And they worked hard! The primary installer came every day about 8:30am and stayed to about 4pm, including the day after Thanksgiving. They were done in a couple of weeks.

I was initially thinking of doing the tiling myself as DIY, but am glad that I used IRC instead. They did a much better job than I could ever have done.

I got estimates from several other contractors, and almost ended up going with another one. After a few conversations and trying to get this other guy to split out labor and materials, I got an uneasy feeling, plus his estimates for certain line items seemed inflated. With David, I got a "no BS" vibe, and felt like I could really trust him. Also, I  couldn't find a bad review, another good sign :) 
His crew was polite, timely, considerate (even about my baby's naps!) and did a great job. Sergei did an awesome job on the tilework, and consulted us every step of the way to ensure each detail was done right. I will definitely use them again when we start on the other bathroom, as soon as I can get on their schedule.

David's team did a great job. From initial estimate to final clean-up, everyone was professional, detail oriented, and helpful. David was easy to reach during the entire process, punctual, and willing to provide helpful suggestions. They were willing to help move the very large sofas and heavy pool table. Their prep work was thorough. The demo started on time. Garbage was removed in a timely manner. The tile job was meticulous and perfect. They cleaned up everything on the final day, painted the base boards, put the pool table and sofas back. The entire process was smooth and painless. They have exceeded my expectation. We will definitely use them again for our other projects around the house.

David was wonderful to work with. He was quick to respond to a request for estimate then followed up with a detailed quote. His team was able to start work within a couple of weeks and they finished on time and budget. David gave us great ideas on exactly how to get the modern look we wanted, Igor and Sebastian did a wonderful job with all the installation. All of them were polite and respectful of our home and were the tidiest contractors we've worked with. David checked in with us all along the way to make sure everything was meeting our expectations. It all went so well we've asked him for an estimate to fix a bad job completed by a different contractor. IRCs prices were very competitive and they were far more responsive than the others.

IRC Tile was one of many companies we contacted on Angie?s List for an upcoming bathroom remodel project. All had glowing reviews on Angie?s List and by their responses to us, many had well-deserved and earned reputations. But something stood out with IRC, and that was Emanuel.  He was prompt, knowledgeable, honest and relatable. We?ve worked with many contractors for various remodel projects on our house and Emanuel ranks at the top for contractors we have worked with. 

Admittedly, we are not the most patient customers, but Emanuel worked with us and accommodated our almost unrealistic timeline.  Not only did he complete our project within 7 days of our first communication, he also did so for an extremely reasonable cost and without any conflict or concerns.  He was available via phone, email and text, and also on the weekend. Additionally, he provided his expertise to help guide us through the design process and steered us away from decisions we had made that were ultimately not in best interest of our final product. Our project is now complete and we are extremely satisfied and happy with our ?new? bathroom.

We have already begun discussions for our next project with IRC and Emanuel.  I give my highest recommendation and thank them for a job well done.

David met with me three or four times before we decided on what exactly needed to be done and how he was going to do it.

He had design ideas and suggested things I had not considered and was always encouraging and open to my ideas and questions. He recommended that we replace the existing window with a larger one that opened and gave a much better view to the back yard. He upgraded the lighting and fans and redid the master closet. Everything he suggested turned out to be perfect.

What is really the most impressive is the tile floor and shower. There are tile workers, journeymen and craftsmen , but David's men are artisans. Their work is truly amazing, their attention to detail is beyond anything I have experienced, and I have built five houses.

 I have enjoyed the new room and everyone who has seen it is amazed by the overall quality and beauty of the work.

 Everything was done on time and his team is the most professional I have dealt with. I had them do additional work in my family room during the project and I am very happy with the result.

 I highly recommend them if you are looking for any remodeling work and wish to  hire the best. If it  you have to wait it is well worth it.

Overall IRC is excellent and in particular David the owner and Igor one of his tile workers.  David gave prompt quotes on prices, worked with us on changes in the middle of the project, worked with the designer on missing details, and had his crew at our house when he said they would be there.  The overall project took the time he said with a few delays because materials I ordered were later than expected.

One of the things I particularly like about David and IRC is the attention to details.  In the master remodel we did tile work on the ceiling in addition to the floor.  The tile work on the ceiling was over the shower and if you dropped the pattern directly to the floor it would fit the herringbone pattern perfectly there -- no easy feat.  In addition to the attention to detail on the tile patterns, the leveling and corners are perfect.

Throughout the whole project we felt David communicated well, worked to get things done on time, and checked in on the project regularly to make sure it met his (and our) high standards.

In addition to the bathroom work I slipped in a few side projects like lights in a couple of rooms, fixing an exterior door, etc and David gave good pricing and got the work done promptly.  Nice to have that flexibility.

The craftsmanship was excellent and the attention to detail was top
notch.  The crew was courteous and did an excellent job of cleaning
up at the end of each day.  They were responsive to my questions and
concerns and always followed up in a timely manner.  I would use IRC in the future and
recommend IRC to others without hesitation.

We have been renovating our house for the past year, doing a lot of it ourselves, but when it came time to do our small-ish master bath, we knew we wanted it done by a professional (or at least the shower) so it looked top-notch and made up for the smaller size.  We got quotes from 3 different contractors.  As a young couple in our first home, cost is important to us, and 2 of the quotes we received were so astronomically high you would have thought we were asking for a gold-plated bathroom.  It was a relief to get an affordable quote from IRC, and an extra bonus to see so many good reviews about their work.
We narrowed the scope of work after the initial quote and selected IRC to demo our entire bathroom and then re-build our tiled shower only (including some plumbing work).  We are so glad that we left the shower to the professionals because the end product looks amazing, and we never could have received that result on our own.

Emanuel was great to work with from day 1 - very personable, prompt, great ideas, excellent communication throughout.  He was also very organized which is a must for me.  They did a beautiful job on our tiled shower (tile floor, walls, and soap niche) and paid great attention to detail.  We couldn't be happier with it.

The project was completed at a good pace, they were respectful of the cleanliness of surrounding areas, and the tile supplier and shower door provider they recommended also helped contribute to a fantastic experience.  I would definitely recommend IRC to others, and will likely be using them again in the future.

I discovered David Hoblea through Angie's List last year when we needed a small 3/4 bath tiled.  I got bids from several contractors, but David was clearly far ahead of the other very competent contractors in terms of the questions he raised, his knowledge of construction details, his interest in the project, and his commitment to using techniques and materials that result in the highest standards of finish. This year we did a major re-tiling of our master bath, which involved tiling floors, shower walls, and tile on some of the other wall areas, as well as installation of a freestanding tub, a linear drain, new plumbing fixtures and sinks, and a large, new granite vanity top. For this second project, I didn't even bother getting other bids because I knew it would be hard to find anyone to match David's results. You can find somewhat cheaper contractors, but you can't find a better one than David.

 I have done home remodeling myself for decades and know what  is involved with almost any task. However, tile is the one thing I won't touch because it is unforgiving.  As a retired engineer I am very particular on how things are done and know what constitutes the difference between simply a well-done project and an outstanding one. I notice minor defects that most people would not even know existed, and David matches or exceeds me in his attention to detail.

The strengths David brings to each job are:
1. Integrity. He is totally honest and explains thoroughly what he will do and why the steps are necessary, and then he does it. He never cuts corners, and he is the only contractor I have ever used who guarantees his work.

2. Collaboration. He is accommodating and receptive to the client's wishes, and will discuss options with you until a good decision is reached.  He will also make a convincing argument if he thinks you are not making an optimal choice.

3. Flexibility.  When unexpected things come up ? as happens in every project ? he comes up with good solutions, and seems to know how to deal with any challenge.

 4. Attention to schedule.  David is in demand and quite busy, and it sometimes takes several weeks to get a proposal from him.  However, once you discuss and accept the proposal, and agree on a start date, the work begins and is done very efficiently.  He has an excellent crew who, besides being exacting tile professionals, can do anything else the project requires (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.). David's people were on the job from 8am the first day until the end of the project, without any missed days or excuses. He is not one of those contractors who overbooks himself and works too many jobs on a piecemeal basis.  Although he himself is not on site every day, his people are and he shows up whenever a new task begins to make sure the work is carried out exactly as he wants it, and he does check on progress with great regularity.  He is also always available by cell phone, text message, and email.

5. Design sense.  David has an excellent eye for bringing things together harmoniously, and makes great suggestions when you are not absolutely sure what you want.  If you have a particular design idea, he will discuss the pros and cons, as well as alternatives.  On both projects he has done for us, he has made suggestions for design touches that we would never have thought of on our own that resulted in an even more aesthetically pleasing (and practical) end result.

Despite my many years of remodeling work, I still find that most projects are stress-inducing. However, this is essentially a non-issue when working with David: you know that he will resolve any problems that come along, that his quality standards will exceed yours, and that he takes pride in producing an excellent product  that you will enjoy for many years.

Emanuel and Serg were great to work with -- creative, flexible, attentive. They listened and took an appreciated common sense approach. They work with us to ensure we got what we wanted and were generous with their time. In fact, we noticed a couple minor bubbles, but felt like they were too minor to knit-pick over. When Emanuel came for final payment, he saw the spots with no prompting from us and said to wait on the check until he could get someone back to make it right. In the end, the price was fair and the job was very well done. We're appreciative and would recommend IRC to anyone looking for good tile pros.

David responded in a very timely and professional manner. He quoted and explained all the details of the job prior to starting and communicated all throughout the process to make sure that we are aware of what is going on. His crew was professional and very (I cannot stress this enough...Very) thorough and did not cut any corners. If you want your bathroom to be done properly and last a very long time, then use these guys. I highly recommend them.

From my first contact with IRC when Emanuel came to give me a bid, I was impressed with the professionalism and attention to detail. Several workmen were required to complete the work which included carpentry, plumbing, tile, and painting. Each person I met was extremely professional, friendly, and courteous. The work took a couple of weeks and each night the workers left my house as neat and tidy as possible. I travel for work and was out of town for a few days at least twice during the project. They continued to work while I was away and I felt completely comfortable giving them access to my house while I was out of town.

Emanuel and David checked in almost daily to update me on progress and confirm my choices regarding tile, plumbing fixtures etc. David gave me excellent tips on design and tile layout. Each one of the companies they recommended to provide the tile and plumbing fixtures also provided excellent service. I could tell from my interactions with these companies that they had high regard for David, Emanuel and IRC.

I was very happy with the end result. My bathrooms are both updated now with beautiful tile and fixtures. They were meticulous and the finished product demonstrates their passion and commitment to quality work. My experience with IRC was very positive. Not only would I highly recommend them to others, I would use them again should I need work in the future.

David Hobblea and IRC are the best. They do a great job, with a tremendous attention to detail. We had a tight deadline with company coming to town, and they were on time with two bathrooms. David is a good communicator, letting us know what was happening all during the process, and if there were any changes in cost or other detail, he let us know.  What's more, he had great ideas that made each of the projects much better. His entire team was personable and professional and the quality was excellent. They always went the extra mile. You can do no better than IRC. For our next project, we're going straight to IRC.

If it was an option, we would give IRC a rating of A+++! We just completed a comprehensive remodel of our guest bathroom.  Our new bathroom looks stunning! The project involved taking down walls, relocating quite a few items and tile work throughout the space. It's no small compliment to say that David and the IRC Team are the best contractors with whom we've had the pleasure to work. Everyone was incredibly professional, courteous and highly skilled. Beyond doing great work, David and Emanuelle gave us thoughtful advice throughout the process which definitely contributed to a more beautiful design than we could have envisioned on the front end of the project.  We have another bathroom remodel in the works and we look forward to working with IRC again given that we know that we'll be in highly-capable hands.

We selected David Hoblea and his company, IRC Tile after interviewing and getting bids from 2 other Angie's List recommended providers. It was an excellent choice and we could not be happier with the experience.

David was easy to work with, straight forward and his team was professional and courteous at all times. They work on time, and on the weekend if needed to keep to the promised timeline. We came to the project with plans in hand and product ordered. He started on time as promised. We slowed the project due to product that we ordered, not arriving on time, promised from another vendor. David had warned us this could happen, so there were some learning there for us in the future: wait until all product has arrived to set a start date. Even though this inconvenienced them in trying to keep to the timeline, David was unfailingly polite and patient.

Our tile design was intricate, working with some unusual products. Everything was done beautifully and no corners were cut in the process. David made suggestions on how to best do the work so that there would never be any surprises down the road. He shows a lot of "pride of ownership" and will not compromise the quality of work in order to cut a corner. He checked in daily and assisted on anything that was tricky, but his team worked great together and were good communicators. They protected the rest of the house throughout the project, cleaning up behind themselves daily, which made the process so much easier.

IRC will not be the least expensive, but but definitely the best experience, professionalism and most important of all, excellent quality.  David is a pleasure to deal with. Very straight forward, kind and courteous as were the crew in hour house.  They cleaned up after each day and left everything clean when they finished. They were on time and the  project was finished by the date David said it would be.  He set expectations clearly and accurately..  I would highly recommend IRC, David and his crew.  It's a high integrity operation and he employs real craftsmen.  Igor was truly excellent. 

IRC demolished the bath to the studs, reframed walls and floor as needed, added insulation, relocated sink, shower, and toilet plumbing, moved and installed electrical outlets, fans, etc, moved heating duct, hung and finished drywall, and leveled & tiled the floor and new shower.  David oversees a team of specialists - there is a carpenter, plumber, electrician, cabinet installer, tiler, and drywallers who complete each aspect of the project with care and attention to detail.   They all arrive clean and pleasant, and they take care to protect your home.  Everyone was scheduled at the right time for the project and showed up exactly when expected.  David and his team have an eye for design aesthetics, so they know how to construct and install everything with proper scale, proportion, and detail.  They made the need for a designer unnecessary, and although you probably won't need one, I believe David has a designer he works with who can be referred.  On that note, David has a vast network of contacts that can be used for fixtures, cabinets, stone, tile, and perhaps more.  We obtained materials from several, and they were all excellent.

I hired IRC based on Angie's List reviews, and I couldn't be more satisfied.  They went above and beyond to ensure we were satisfied with each phase of the remodel, showed up when expected, showed attention to design and detail, and tried their hardest to keep the remodel from interfering with the rest of the household.  Our bathroom went from awful to amazing in four short weeks.  We consider IRC to be our go-to contractor for future projects.  No need to look further, call them for an estimate!

I highly recommend David Hoblea and IRC Tile Services for any bathroom remodel. David was very attentive and conscientious from the first contact to the end of the project. He took a lot of time to assess what I wanted and gave excellent suggestions about how to work within the limitations of the space. He helped me understand how the choices that I would make would affect the outcome of the project. The people on his team were respectful of my time and that of my family. I was very apprehensive but David was very confident and reassured me that they could handle any problems that might come up during the project.  The first day of construction he was on site to introduce his project manager Johnny. On the days that David was not able to be on site, Johnny was very communicative, and responsive, and the rest of his team was very professional and arrived when they said they would be there. They were careful to keep the work area clean and cleaned up every day after they had completed their work. When I had difficulty finding a source for some of the plumbing fixtures from a source David had recommended, he took time to research another source to obtain the fixtures, ordered and paid for them for me. He also made sure that the materials were delivered on site when I was unable to arrange the delivery on my own, he took care of the issue with no complaints. His team worked late to complete certaiin aspects of the project and also on weekends when required. David was present to attend to the small details of the project, and his project manager carried them out with attention and care. I can't believe how well the project came together. I am so excited about the final project. His original estimate was very close to the final cost.  I can recommend David and his team with the utmost confidence. I have already asked him to work on another bathroom remodel in our home. I would recommend him to anyone with confidence.

After going through 3 quotes, we choose to work with David both based on his recommendations during the initial consultation and his reviews in various places including Angies List.
Before the project started, he was both very patient with our questions and also very helpful in helping us decide between tiles, layouts and fixtures.
During the installation his crew worked really professionaly, making sure to keep the house clean during demo. The job is completed now and the shower looks great. We would definetly consider IRC Tile Services for any future remodel jobs.

This was the third time we went with David and he and his crew are better than before. There's not much else to be said about it.

They take their time and are careful, so you'll have the best experience if you don't have a super-tight timeframe. But David will be the first one to be up-front about what he can and can't do about time.

This was the first job in which there was an actual issue during the installation - we obtained the wrong shower valve and didn't realize the error until after installation. On top of that, this was 3 days before Christmas. The way he reacted was great - he had a plan, was straightforward about when/how it would happen, and it happened. The Monday after Christmas, his guys came back, fixed the issue (which required some removal of drywall and tile), and it didn't affect the final look at all - I can't tell that the issue even occurred.

And, of course, the bathroom looks great.
