IRC Kitchen & Bath

It is often said that “good things come to those who wait.” That sentiment accurately describes my experience with IRC Kitchen and Bath. After interviewing and collecting bids from three highly rated contractors, I hired David Hoblea and IRC to do a complete remodel of the three bathrooms in my home. IRC was not the cheapest nor the most expensive of the three but easily seemed to be the most customer focused. I was immediately impressed with David’s detailed questions concerning my project and what I wanted to achieve, which made selecting IRC an easy choice for me. While the project took a lot longer than I anticipated, I am glad I made the choice. Working with Jada, the interior designer was a pleasure and Silvester, Alex and David proved to be not only craftsman of the highest caliber but also perfectionists intently focused on bringing their client’s vision to life. I am very happy with the final result, which exceeded my high expectations. The only downside with my project was the time it took. While I understand that Covid created some backups in the supply chain and that I probably wasn’t the easiest client to work for given my frequent change orders, I don’t believe that the project should have taken the nearly five months that it did to complete. Still, at the end of the day, I am very happy with the result and will likely look to David and IRC for my next project. Recommended.

Excellent! Alex was an absolute perfectionist, the work was perfect. Also had to protect carpet and stairs and his prep and protection of the area was perfect, no issues. We were selling house and they worked with our schedule and completed exactly as promised.

We have worked with David and his team on several projects now and they've been amazing. They've completed work to a high standard, requested and respected our input, and taken great care with our home. On the first project, a mini bathroom remodel where they tiled our bathroom and installed a new vanity, the crew was painstaking and punctual. David stated and maintained an extremely efficient timeline for the main part of the work, and the crew actually came back after the projected end date of the project to investigate and patch when a potential leak (not a result of this project, an issue with our upstairs plumbing) was discovered at the tail end of the job. AFTER that point, Sylvester, who had installed the vanity, came back early on a Saturday morning after I called on Friday night to request that he address a minor issue that had been overlooked during the plumbing hookup. On the more recent project, which involved cutting out several layers of older flooring to tile our kitchen and entryways as well as installing contrasting tile around our fireplace, they did an amazing job addressing the weirdness of our older home--leveling out floors, installing new baseboard trim that would better complement the other sections of the room. It's made an amazing difference to the feel of the house to have beautifully laid tile in these areas. I am picky and unlike other contractors I've worked with in the past, Alex--the installer on David's crew who performed most of the work on both these projects--is detail-oriented to the point of anticipating potential aesthetic concerns that I hadn't even considered. Not only did he point out these issues but he was able to come up with creative solutions to make sure we were happy with the outcome. Moreover this crew is one of the cleanest that I've worked with, correctly protecting the floors and hanging plastic before messy parts of the project as well as vacuuming and leaving the home fully usable at the end of each day.

David and his team were wonderful, hard working, and did an excellent job of laying the 9x36 porcelain, wood-look tiles. Their process for prepping the floor got rid of all the squeaks the builder allowed to go unchecked. We made a last-minute decision to add radiant heat, and David didn’t miss a beat. He very patiently answered all questions, and the communication throughout the whole process made things run smoothly. Another last-minute decision was to have his carpenter install new base moldings, which were very well done, and also completed in one day. We wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to recommend David Hoblea and his team at IRC Tile Service.

It went well -- David made sure to keep in regular contact during the job and I have received numerous compliments (in one case, even from some members of my condo board who were doing scheduled inspections, asked about who did the remodel). I was very happy with the end result and would hire them again. The "B" for punctuality is around some scheduling issues that seemed to be specific to the designer for the job, but once work was underway I was very impressed with quality and pace.

We loved working with Tile IRC. David and team were punctual, responsive, courteous and hard working. Our master bath was completed on time and we loved the end result. We would definitely hire them again!

Love love love this company. Emanuel was fair in his pricing. His crew was on time and very professional. Everyone was kind to my kids and me. The work was quality and I love my new kitchen. I feel like we lucked out with finding them!!! We will use them again. When I brought up things that I thought should be fixed they fixed them no arguing or hassle if just got done. There was a manufacturing defect in the counter they saw it and fixed it. It extended the project a bit but they got it right! I am happy with Emanuel and his company. I will use them again!

I needed the master bathroom to be completely remodeled after a major leak, while wanting to retain the major units such as the bath. I contacted over 20 contractors, including several that were highly rated on Angie’s List. IRC was the only contractor to provide me with a properly detailed estimate. David Hoblea was excellent, making the effort to understand what I wanted, making useful suggestions, taking me through his estimate line by line and helping me select new materials. The IRC team started and finished on time and kept me fully informed of their progress throughout, reviewing the results of their work with me as they went, and at the end of the project. They were polite, discrete and professional, and the quality of their work was excellent. I highly recommend IRC and would not hesitate to use them again.

I had a great experience with David and his team on my recent bath remodel. He provided clear, transparent communication. He was on time, on budget, and did a fabulous job. I had a clear picture of what I wanted when we started and working with his designer, Jada, was a breeze. She had great suggestions that further enhanced the outcome. His team was always on time, kept everything as clean and neat as possible, and were very pleasant to work with. My bathroom has been described as beautiful, gorgeous, and a showroom (and not just by me). I would be more than happy to work with David and his team again.

David and his crew are meticulous. They were prompt, have an exceptional eye for detail. They were prompt, professional and dedicated to their work. Sylvester always had a solution to any unexpected snags they faced. He proposed various ways to lay tile, tile and lighting. Things we never would have thought of. Excellent company!

Working with David and his crew to create ~700 sq ft of new flooring throughout my kitchen and living room was a pleasure. David was always responsive and professional and when I expanded the job and was pushing the limits of my budget he worked with me to try and find a solution. The tile installation crew were skilled, respectful, and accommodating at every step along the way. We did a 4'x8" plank tile with heat underlay, the final result was excellent, I would be happy to hire David and his crew again.

I would rate David and group a 10 if allowed. I have 30+ yrs in property claims and I would trust David and crew to handle any thing I needed and will use them again in the near future . My kitchen remodel went quickly, professionally, and without problems. David is responsive to your call, and action follows. We had been looking for a while for a contractor to do our bathroom remodel and after a lot of shopping around and talking to various vendors, we zeroed in on IRC Tile Services and we couldn’t have made a better choice. Emmnuel Antemie, the Project Manage for IRC Tile Services was very professional, knowledgeable and courteous throughout the entire process. He was deeply involved in the project from the very beginning and helped us with selections for the materials concept and design. We had a deadline of mid-April to complete the project since we were going to have house guests and Emmanuel promised us that he would do his very best to meet the deadline. His team was the best ever – they were super professional, precise and very neat and organized in their work. They paid attention to details and did not cut any corners, and took genuine pride in their work. Emmanuel was involved in every phase of the remodel and was always available to answer questions and problem solve with innovative solutions. We got all 3 of our bathrooms remodeled. IRC Tile Services surpassed our expectations and completed everything 2 weeks before the deadline at the highest quality. We are very happy with the work they did for us and no prizes for guessing who we are going to go with for Phase 2 of our remodel!

David Hoblea (owner) and his team at IRC completed a remodel of our master suite (bath and bedroom) and nearby powder room in summer 2017. IRC is by far the best contractor that we have ever worked with, and we have done a lot of remodeling. David was responsive and clear in his communication all through the project. His dedication to quality is paramount, and really put our minds at ease in how his team planned and executed the project. We are thrilled with the result, and never would have been able to accomplish such a successful project without IRC.

David and his team came highly recommended from our interior designer who had worked with them numerous times. We hired them to do a complete kitchen remodel - down to the studs and sub-flooring. Most notably, we were impressed at the level of professionalism exhibited. When we had questions, everyone stopped working briefly and gave us their full attention. Every single day, no matter how late they worked, the team took the time to immaculately clean away the dust and debris, with extra care to ensure that our belongings were protected. As with any project, we hit a few snags - David was always patient in listening to our concerns and working with us to provide solutions. All of our cabinets and shelving were custom built. We had under-shelf lighting installed. The plumbing needed to be modified for the new sink. Our new fridge was counter-depth and the adjacent wall needed shortening to match. The pantry was completely opened up and new outlets were needed. They handled all of it with a spectacular level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. One area we were struggling with was how to handle the ducting from the hood to the exterior of the house. They opened the ceiling to discover that the duct could be nestled in between the joists and covered with drywall, turning a difficult design decision into a no-brainer. This meant that the exhaust outlet needed to move, but they did such a fantastic job making it discrete that you don't even notice the old outlet. Our overall experience with IRC Tile Services was fantastic and I have already recommended them to people. Everything went very smoothly and we feel great about the final outcome of our kitchen.

I have had the pleasure of having worked with IRC on several different projects. The attention to quality, detail, cleanliness and overall professionalism of David and the whole IRC crew really impressed. I would highly recommend them to friends, family and anyone looking for a wonderful firm to work with.

David worked up a detailed but easy to understand cost proposal that gave us a lot of confidence we could get what we wanted at a fair price, His designer worked with us to come up with drawings that made the selection of materials straightforward and easy. The workmanship is excellent. The care and attention to detail by all of the crew who worked on the job was impressive. (Sylvester, Louie and Igor) They cleaned up their work areas every day and made extra effort to minimize the disruption of the project on our daily lives. They communicated effectively with us when decisions on details needed to be made as the work progressed. We are very happy with our two new bathroom remodels. Our project manager, Emanuel, and his crew at IRC did a fantastic job with our project, offering fresh/creative ideas and design options that no other service provider suggested. They were responsive to our questions and kept us informed throughout the various phases of the project. Options were clearly spelled out and attention to detail, craftsmanship and overall quality of work was evident throughout. We are very happy with the finished product and would not hesitate to use them on future projects!

Excellent! David and team did a superior job in planning and executing our project. They are truly craftsmen. They made sure we were involved in every step ensuring our satisfaction. IRC tile remodeled the lower level of our tri level home ( ~400 sq ft). This included taking out a free standing ventless fireplace, removing built in cabinets and a bar sink from the main area and extending the laundry room area by 2-3 feet. Some plumbing had to be moved in the laundry room to accommodate new locations for the sink and washer. Flooring was updated to porcelain tile, a stand -alone utility sink was replaced with a stainless-steel sink, tile backsplash and a granite countertop. The front loader washer and dryer were stacked and an entire wall cherry cabinetry surrounds them. David had redone our master bathroom three years earlier and we are still in love with the work he did! We worked with David and the designer he works with Suzanne Scott. Pre planning with them gave us some different floor layout options to consider and choose from. The design meetings with Suzanne were very helpful and as we were finalizing things we meet with both David and Suzanne to go over the plan. David had provided a detailed cost proposal breaking down the items to be done and additional options that could be included if we desired. This was very important in helping us determine what was and what wasn’t important to us from a budget perspective. Suzanne did a great job helping us with material selection for the tile and new cabinets for the laundry room and the detailed design drawings. The workmanship for all aspects was excellent as well as the communication as we were in regular contact, there was no going dark on the communications. The contrast between what the laundry room was and is now is indescribable. I sometimes still just go down there to look at it and admire it. The main room went from being a dark somewhat crowded space to being more open and bright and has turned into a gym space with a rowing machine and treadmill for our use.

They were professional, courteous, timely and very pleasant to work with. I would highly recommend them.

It went well. We had some scheduling conflicts so it took a little longer than planned, but we weren't under any time constraints so that was fine. I now have a 'go-to' for tiling. I would use them again in a heartbeat.l

From the start, David and his crew did an excellent job. Firstly, we have had a few major jobs done in our house, including another bathroom remodel, kitchen, and family room remodel. All previous experiences were average at best- it was either poor communication, not showing up on time, missing something or doing something wrong, or in one case, not finishing the job and never coming back after they said they would. After all of this, we have been very leery of hiring contractors for another job. Poor communication and good working ethics seem to be a common problem in this industry. Why is it so hard to find someone who will do the job right, communicate with you as you go along, and finish on time for a reasonable price? Well, IRC Tile did all of that and more. We were always contacted so that we knew when to expect the guys who were working on that day. They were always checking in with us to confirm details before they did the work, David was regularly checking in to see how it was going, did we have questions, concerns, etc. The guys who were working (Silvester, Alex) were always timely, polite, communicative, hard-working, and did their best to keep the place clean at the end of each day. Another big plus was that we negotiated the services of an interior designer into the bid. Working with Suzy was wonderful as well and made the process go smoothly. While we had received another bid which was lower, David's prices are reasonable and good value considering the quality of the work and the high standards to which this business operates. We are very happy with the final product. We would highly recommend IRC Tile! Thanks David!
