Hy Kitchen Cabinet & Stone

Michael was very helpful, he was punctual for our appointment.  He provided value added inputs on the layout of kitchen and took measurements of the kitchen.  The price was very reasonable, and the quality of the cabinets are good.  It just took one or two weeks to order the cabinets.
The guys were very efficient and punctual.  They managed to demolish the kitchen in a few hours, and installed new cabinets, backsplash and countertop in a 1.5 days.
I had a good customer experience with them, and would definitely use them again in the future.

All went fine.  They expertly measured and cut on site.  We were very satisfied. They did our entire kitchen, including a large eating bar.

Fabulous experience. Michael is conscientious, fair, dependable and sells a great product. His installation team was very experienced,  customer-focused, and completed both the cabinets and the granite installation in 1 day!  
We are professional remodelers and investors so we know when someone is really good. Last year I bought cabinets from a downtown Seattle supplier and had several issues with the cabinet design, such as maximum sink cabinet size. That other provider happily exchanged it, but didn't carry the change through on the design and the uppers ended up off-kilter from the sink cabinet simply because the upper spacer was on the wrong side.  
With Hy Cabinets, they carried through even small adjustments in the design and installation so the uppers and lowers lined up perfectly! 
To be able to find such a provider on the Eastside was a bonus. I will definitely use them again for the house we are living in.

We gave Michael at HY cabinets our room dimensions and he did all the work.  We substituted some of his recommended cabinets to adding a trash bin, spice pull-out cabinet, wine rack, glass doors and small wall end shelf to complete the look.  When the cabinets were received, we realized we made a measurement error because of overlooking a high window length.  We brought back the cabinets that need to be shorted in depth and paid a small fee to get that fixed.  They made the correction for us quickly and we were able to complete the cabinet installation ourselves. 

The next week the guys came out to install the sink and countertops.  The were quick and professional.  Some drips on the cabinets from the countertop install were easily cleaned off with goof off. 

Because they don't come out to measure your space, the burden falls onto the homeowner/contractor to do correctly.  We made a minor mistake, that cost us additional time and money.  Another issue was where Michael placed the dishwasher.  When opening the dishwasher door it would hit one cabinet door pull, so that cabinet does not have a knob!  It's minor, but it was an issue.

Half of the price belongs to purchase of counter-tops and half them goes to the labor. Everything went on very smoothly. They work out the process very smartly. 
You measure your own counter-tops size. I think it reduces their cost for a trip to your home and therefore reduce the price eventually. Price is standard. There is no negotiation needed. And there were sales going on at the time I purchased the stone. So 10% discount added automatically.  Good quality sink and faucet with a very good price. Their price for sink is a bit lower than HomeDepot with the same quality sink.
On the appointed date, their crew came exactly on time, and finished almost exact time as they promised. Counter-top installed smoothly and the edges are all good. The seams are very smooth as well. In general, it is the most trouble free project among all my recent home renovation projects.
I noticed they offered good products with a very good price, but their products are not top of line. There were four slabs of granite used for counter-tops, but one is darker than the rest. They did show me the difference before installation and I felt it is acceptable. And the darker one is installed at the far end, and later on I cover the seam where the dark and light met with a kitchen appliance. So it is barely noticeable.  But still not perfect.
I checked the their cabinets as well. The cabinets are very good price. The price for the new cabinets are lower than repainting the old cabinets or just refacing of the old cabinets. But the cabinets are mostly those cookie cutter builder quality cabinets. And our old cabinets have special layout which I felt would be a challenge to replace. So eventually I went with the granite counter-top only.
But in generally, with this price and the quality and a trouble free project, I am very satisfied.

Michael and his crew deserve huge kudos. We stopped in his shop on the way home one day. We showed him the layout of our kitchen, indicated which cabinets and granite we were interested in and within 15 minutes he had a full estimate and computer drawings of what our new kitchen would look like. He even provided suggestions for installation of our new kitchen island. He was able to have all cabinets ready for pickup within 5 business days, complete with all the trim, filler, toekick needed for the installation. Upon granite installation day, Michael (the owner) and his crew arrived on time, and provided stellar installation knowledge and competency. They even assisted with the completion of our radius subtop for the kitchen island, just to make sure it was perfect. I would highly recommend using HY and especially appreciate Michael and his crew for their competency, their knowledge, their fast and accurate workmanship and Michael's customer service. Thank you again for helping us create a new kitchen! P.S. both my husband and I work in the construction industry and have worked with hundreds of contractors in our careers. We would definitely use HY again and place this contractor experience among one of the best.

They were very personable and helpfull to answer questions when I went into the store. Gave me multiple samples of the cabinets and marble to take with me to compare (as I was installing the tile floor first and wanted it to match). Scheduled an appointment for the install and they arrived right when they said they would. The installers were equally as friendly and often asked if something looked just the way I want it, and would adjust the position accordingly (i.e. the island). Quality is pretty nice (full wood), countertops are beautiful, cut right, and aligned. There was only one issue where one of the doors had a couple dings in it, so I went back to the store and at my word(not having said cupboard door with me), they offered me another one right there. They even offered to install it if I couldn't do it myself. Overall, I've been very pleased with this company and their products.
