I ordered two exterior shades, the vendor came and installed them. The shades blocked off the sun in the evening effectively. I am happy with them.

Overall, we are thrilled with the product and the resulting cooler temperatures in our house. the installation did have some bumps along the way - there was a manufacturer delay on one of the products we used; and then American Awnings mixed up some measurements and originally delivered the wrong size screens. But the installers were professional and pleasant and apologetic, so after a brief two-day delay we got everything sorted out. The solar screens have saved us from having to install air conditioning in our glass-heavy, west-facing house.

Immediate response to phone call to request free estimate of product. Quickly scheduled time for consultant to come to my home to measure and discuss options and prices. Time frame discussed was exactly how long it took to order and install. Installers were prompt and professional and did an excellent job. Very satisfied with both product and service the company provided.

I have read the response from American Awnings and Shade and the vendor stated they recognized the fact that flashing and sealant was necessary to eliminate rainwater coming under the awning. They stated it was done to the member's satisfaction. This is false in that this installation was totally unsatisfactory. American A&S further stated that the member did not like the flashing. The attempt to install flashing and sealant, which took all of 20 minutes, was a botched job that did nothing to prevent rainwater from coming in under the awning and flooding the deck. American A&S further stated that the member hired a handyman to remove the siding on the house. This is false, as no siding needed to be removed from the house whatsoever. They referred to a contractor we hired as a handyman, which is an understatement in that the contractor was a professional and knew exactly what to do to prevent the rainwater from coming onto the deck, which we had expected American A&S to do originally.

THE SALESMAN WAS KNOWLEDGEABLE AND EXPERIENCED IN PROVIDING US WITH THE PROPER PRODUCT AS NEEDED. THE SHADES WERE INSTALLED ON TIME AND WORKED PERFECTLY.
