My inlaws were in town for a couple of days. They drove into town from several hundred miles away and as they got closer to our house their car was showing worsening signs of losing power when accelerating on the freeway. They were concerned about their drive home and wanted to get it fixed in the Bellevue area. They called a couple Subaru dealerships but could not get an appointment during the time they were in town. So we did some research and came across All Wheel Drive Auto. Good reviews on both Angie's List and Google+ review. So they called and AWDA were able to get them in the next morning.
Once they dropped off the car they were told they should have a diagnosis in a couple hours. They received their phone call about 1 1/2 hours later with a full explanation of the problem and an estimate of the cost. The diagnosis sounded reasonable so they approved the work.
The work was done by the afternoon as promised, and upon arriving received a full rundown of the repairs made. Apparently there was an oil leak that was causing oil to spray on the spark plugs and wires. AWDA fixed the oil leak (replaced gaskets, etc), replaced the spark plugs and wires. They also checked over the engine for any other obvious issues but didn't find anything.
My inlaws drove home today and told me their car is running great, no issues at all. So overall we had a great experience with this auto shop and would definitely use them again. They did good work, no pressure sales, and explained everything in full. And the did the work fast and on time which was a huge help in this situation.

Fast, good service, honest diagnosis, great price. Never pressure you to add extra services like at the dealer.

AWD Auto is the best independent Subaru repair shop in Seattle. They are also the only people I trust with my Subarus, as their skills and attention to detail are significantly better than what you get at my selected dealership, Roy Robinson
Here is why I think that. My 2010 Subaru Outback had a transmission failure on August 26. I had it towed to my dealership, where they essentially told me it was due to a lack of maintenance and that it would cost $8100 to replace the transmission.
I contacted AWD auto for a second opinion, and they did confirm that this was accurate. However they also guided me to double check my maintenance records, and see what was done on the CVT. Basically they helped me figure out that Roy Robinson had failed to maintain my transmission correctly and that I should contact Subaru of America for support on the issue.
So the reason I like them is not just for the work they have done for me (which has been great) but for the exemplary way they support their customers when they are not being paid
Ryan (my tech for this issue) has taken a genuine interest in my problem, and I have been giving him near daily updates on my situation - because he's interested. Likely the actual work will be done by the deanship that screwed up my car, but they still want to know how it all comes out.
Their willingness and interest to consult on a problem, and take a personal interest in the outcome is miles beyond what you would get out of a standard dealership service department. Highly recommended!!!! 5 stars!

Just moved to this area and I've found my Subaru shop! Great people to work with. I'm an experienced amateur mechanic (I do all maintenance and most other work on a 2000 BMW GS motorcycle: belts, valves, oil, brakes, tires, crash repair...). They were up-front about the costs, and all prices were reasonable. Their suggestions for additional services after they started, such as replacing 'crackling' radiator hoses and belts with 'cracked/glazed' surfaces, are just what I look for in a shop (I already knew about the belts, was waiting to see if they found them). I believe that the extra money spent on maintenance of this sort is a lot better than downtime on the side of a road when you really want to be someplace else. As for the 'B' rating for price, I'm good with that because I have yet to find an 'inexpensive' shop that isn't 'cheap'; I'll pay this price for good service.

Very accommodating with scheduling. Very prompt. Appreciated them telling me what work could be deferred.

It was recommended that I have service look to see if anything was needed before I paid for a full inspection. This saved me the money for the full inspection and gave me the assurance my car was sound for winter driving. I felt they could have gouged me for the full inspection, but instead chose to get a return customer. I just bought a new outback and I will be taking it to these folks for it's maintenance in the future.

Fix a couple of oil leaks and routine maintenance.

It was great. They are professionals who do a very good job and are reasonable. I have been going to them since11/2011 when they replaced my head gaskets for a very good price.

AWD Auto did the work while I waited and didn't charge for the test drive. I found out the sound was nothing to worry about.
I have used this company a few times in the past, for both major work and routine maintenance, and have been quite happy with them.

I have used them for 5 years. I have used them for pretty much anything that is going on with my car except for tires. They are really great. They know their stuff. It is an owner operated place and they mostly work on Subaru's. They also work on other cars too but mostly Subarus. I definitely recommend them to a friend and tell them that they are honest and they give you the straight scoop and tell you what you need to fix and what you can wait on if you need a budget. They are a little expensive. They are not the cheapest king in town. They are very responsive.

AWD auto is my car mechanic now and they did an excellent job replacing my head gaskets in 2011. They had the best price and record for replacing these gaskets. Since the engine was out of the car, they fixed other parts that needed to be replaced. Kevin was great keeping me notified of what they found and cost involved and getting my approval before any work was performed. The work was performed in a timely fashion.

Ryan was great! It was a Friday afternoon and raining. I rolled my driver side window down to put mail in a mail box and it wouldn't roll back up. I called All Wheel Drive to see if they could take care of my car. They said not until Monday and advised I put the car in a garage. I told them I didn't have one and asked if they had a loaner car I could use over the weekend, so they could put my car in their garage. They ordered the part I needed on Friday. I used their Subaru loaner car all weekend. My car was fixed by Monday afternoon. Helpful, fast and efficient. I highly recommend them.

They are Subaru experts and I found them through the internet. I have spent big bucks with them in the past and they are a little pricey but I get good quality of service. I rate them highly.

I have great confidence in the quality, skill, knowledge, and service that this company provides for my Subaru. The prices are fair and they always take the time to explain the work in a simple and understandable manner. Truly, a rare gem in the auto service industry.

After a routine oil change at a dealership I was told that my left head gasket was leaking coolant and it would cost 2k to fix. I called All Wheel Drive Auto after doing a lot of online research about Subarus and head gasket issues. They suggested doing the timing belt and water pump at the same time since the engine would be already out. Ken was very helpful on the phone and explained things clearly. They gave me a quote that was lower than the dealer and included more work so I decided to get the work done. They fit me in first thing the next week and had the work finished Tuesday afternoon. When I arrived to pick up my car they showed me all the parts that were replaced/taken out of my car and explained/showed me what was wrong with each part. I found that very informative.

The two service advisors, Ken and Ryan are great to worked with. Ryan e-mail me an estimate and a detailed list of services that they were going to perform for the 30K. They provided a free Loaner for any of the 30/60/90 Subaru Mainetance work. Any parts that were replaced, they will show you or give you the old parts. Thus,you can easily verify that the work was done. During the servicing of the A/C leak, they discovered a small and slow leak. They had to inject a dye to aide in the troubleshooting. Drove it for two weeks, and the dye was able to reveal the root cause of the issue ( a bad schrieder value). The factory dealer never caught this during the routine factory servicing prior to my 30K maintenace job. AWD is not the cheapest, but was still cheaper that the Factory Dealer. AWD has a great deal of experience working on Subarus (all models), and knows where to know for any potentials issues. I would not hestiate to recommed AWD for any Subaru owner who wants to maintain good overall reliability or keep the vehicle for the long haul. I'm glad that i found a great Subaru service shop on the Eastside.

The process went very well. I wanted to try out a new repair shop - wasn't loving the last independent shop I tried. Was very pleased with the work - quick work and were happy to answer all my questions. Their pricing for the service was considerably lower than the dealer. Very fair pricing. I plan to go back for the next service when it's due.

The mouse issue added a lot of money I didn’t expect going in, but he explained everything to me and I needed to get it fixed. I got a lot of quotes for the tune up and they seemed either the lowest or the most reasonable compared to what they were offering. I have no dissatisfaction with them and the work is good.

It went very well. I was disappointed to have to spend so much money on a car that I had recently purchased (used), but I was glad to have found All Wheel Drive through Angie's List.

Most excellent experience - I will definitely be a customer for life. The shop specializes in Subaru and even though I like to do the routine maintenance myself, there are some things (such as wheel bearings, brakes, etc) that I won't touch. They took the time to explain some other areas under the hood that might need attention in the future, but clearly did not pressure me to have the repairs done. No sticker shock at the end and no hidden charges. They also showed me the old parts that they had replaced. These guys are very skilled and very passionate about Subarus. You cannot go wrong with AWD Auto.
