The entire house was pressure washed. New wood was primed, old wood was scraped and primed as needed. All areas being painted received 2 coats after priming. Lots of other areas were touched up as well. Omar's bid was not the lowest I received, but I felt comfortable with him and wanted to hire him for the job. I expressed my concern about the price, and he assured me that not only would he do an outstanding job (which he did!), but that he would go above and beyond the specific items in the bid to ensure that anything he saw needing attention would be taken care of. He also agreed to cover the cost of any additional paint needed (we had enough for most of the job). All the work was done on schedule, as described, along with a lot of extras as promised. For example, our rusty porch railings were primed and repainted even though this was not part of the original estimate. A few holes from old conduit were patched. They even removed, repainted, and reattached our house numbers! Omar had a small crew to assist with part of the work, but did most of it himself. He was always friendly, punctual, and every day left a written progress report stating what was completed, what remained to be done, and when he would return. He was also happy to give me honest opinions about products and color choices for other projects when I asked. In fact, I first met him in a paint store when I could not find the right shade of white for the ceilings (harder than it sounds), and he offered to help. He even retrieved a can from his truck and painted a swatch onto my wall color sample for reference (turned out to be the perfect color). At that time I wasn't ready to hire anyone for the exterior, so he had nothing to gain by helping me out. He just enjoys what he does, and likes to see it done right. I highly recommend him, and hope to use him again someday when it comes time to re-paint the entire house.
