Purchased carpet from a carpet wholesaler who did not do installations. Ron Cornelius was recommended by the wholesaler. Roncame out and estimated the job to determine how much carpet and pad to buy. The total was 136 square yards or 102 feet of 12' carpet so that is what we ordered. Ron said he would be there on Monday morning and showed up at 8AM with one assistant. They moved some heavy couches that we were not able to move ourselves and got to work. They finished the installation in all the room areas and hallways and cleaned up completely by about 5:30PM. They had planned to quit at 4PM but finished so that we could return the furniture to one of the bedrooms where we had a house guest staying. They returned at 8AM the following day to do the stairs and finished about 12:30AM. I have watched carpet being installed many times and these men did things I have never seen done before. They glued down the pad so it would not move and taped all the seams before laying the carpet. They used a large room-wide carpet stretcher to insure a good fit. They carpeted the stairs individually and did the risers separately to achieve a sharper, more defined look at the edges. This would also allow the carpet to be replaced on any individual stair if damaged. All doorways and baseboards were clean and sharp. There were no visible seam lines, even though I know where they are. We did not get competing quotes so we do not know how the price compares but we definitely feel we got a top quality installation the was well worth the price of $1500. Remember that you need to add 9.5% WA sales tax to that total.
Description of Work: Removed carpet and pad from 2 bedrooms, 2 long hallways and a family room as well as a flight of stairs. Installed new carpet in all those areas.
