Puget Sound Moving Inc
About us
Puget Sound Moving started with two rental trucks, including equipment and supplies. As of today, less than four years in, we own eight trucks. We have grown at a great pace. Considering the economy, the housing market and the competitive nature of the moving business, we are grateful to be where we are, yet firmly believe this is only the beginning. When I started this company in March of 2009, I knew that Puget Sound Moving would be different from the national companies I had worked with before. With five years of industry experience under my belt, I was confident that I could build a successful company simply by focusing on clients rather than dollars.

"Most Definitely" (use again in the future)
Puget Sound Moving was on my SHORT short list after combing through dozens of reviews on Angie's List. The last of three different on-site estimates at my home, they came in with the most competitive quote. I was VERY impressed with their sales representative -- who was extremely thoughtful, attentive and thorough in providing me with a breakdown of costs and an overall estimate, taking various scenarios into account. He made certain I was aware of my rights as a consumer, and what every moving company, to include his own employer, was bound by law to do and to provide.
To my relief, PSM was able to work within the dates I might feasibly move. AND they remained flexible -- from same-day pick-up and delivery, to multi-day storage options. As luck would have it, everything came together at the last minute, I called to make sure they were still open to do an all-in-one-day pickup and delivery, and Puget Sound Moving was ready to go to work. The plan was to send in a three-man crew, but, as luck would have it, one man called in sick the morning of the move. I had planned to assist the crew to begin with, and had nearly everything that I wanted to travel on the truck packed and labeled and staged in strategic areas of my house.
NOTE TO THE BUYER: Folks -- to the extent that you are able to do your part, make sure you aren't wasting your money and the moving crew's valuable time by having them boxing stuff up for you that should have been ready weeks prior. It is a poor allocation of resources YOU are paying for...and I've determined that poor planning on the part of the consumer to be the base issue of far too many consumer complaints against moving companies. The company's job is primarily to load and move your stuff -- NOT to pack your books, toiletries and the contents of your home office at the last second on moving day because you were "too busy" and just couldn't get around to it.
Moving day: Puget Sound Moving arrived on time and ready to roll. I'm sorry I cannot remember the two young gentlemen who handled the move (maybe the company might please fill in this information, in their response to my review?) -- but I will never forget how pleasant, professional, painstakingly careful, respectful and full of hustle these guys were. Their diligence in wrapping up/boxing items that I'd been unable to find suitable containers for (large framed art, mirrors, plasma screen TV, etc.), shrink-wrapping my furniture, loading and unloading, etc. was nothing short of commendable. NOT ONE single nick, scratch, rip, tear, broken dish or chipped glass. Granted, I bubble-wrapped the crap out of my stuff, but these guys made sure they knew exactly how each item was going to travel up or down a staircase, pass through a doorway, and sit on their truck. Their designated lunch break was to the minute -- then they were back at it. If they had any questions, they made sure to ask...they never presumed or assumed. If I had a question or suggestion, they were all ears.
Long story short, at the end of a long, sweaty and non-stop day, these guys were still cheerful, respectful and asking if everything was to my satisfaction, whether I had any questions, etc. Best of all, they came in WELL under the original quote. I happily cash-tipped both of these gentlemen on top of the actual bill -- believe it, they earned every cent. Now, I hope to have at least a few years in my current place before relocating again, but when that day comes, Puget Sound Moving will get my business. I would and will recommend them to any friend, family member or stranger on the street. From the front office receptionist to the sales manager to the fellas hauling my gear, they've proven to me why they're a top-rated Angie's List business.
Thanks!
