The MasterDecks team did a wonderful job on my front deck! Everyone I interacted with was very knowledgeable and professional. It was easy to communicate with them and they were very responsive to all my questions/comments (the daily logs and pictures were great!). They constructed the deck well, doing all the extra things needed to make the deck last, like placing gtape on top of the wood support beams, adding extra screws in critical areas, etc. I would highly recommend this company to others!

I needed a deck railing replacement and decided to contact Rescom. I was impressed with each of the Rescom/Master Deck's employees I worked with. First was Patrick Rasmussen, the Sales Rep who helped me pick out my new railing by showing me so many choices. Following Patrick I was contacted by Quinn MacWatter, the Project manager who confirmed my job's parameters. When the deck parts arrived I was contacted by Kyle who was able to schedule my job within a day. On March 29th Collin & Eric arrived at 8 AM to begin the removal of the old railing and they began the replacement Monday, April 1st. Collin & Eric were joined periodically by other employees and the railing was totally completed by the afternoon of April 4th. I was then put in contact with Jet Garcia who helped me manage the final financial details. I am very pleased with my new deck railing.

We just finished our wood deck project with Master Decks LLC. We highly recommend this company. First, we found them on google search. They had high rating on google, so we called them. They responded right back the next day, and we scheduled a sales person visit. Cary, our sales person was so helpful and knowledgeable. He assisted us making the right decisions on layout, materials, and price. After we had a zoom meeting with him, we were fortunate to have our deck started. Our deck dimension is 14 by 12. We added 8 feet stairs on the side. Also, we chose to build a bench as a part of railing. Our railing is black and white. Secondly, we absolutely loved the construction team. Ryan, the supervisor came to discuss before the construction. The job was done mainly by Justin Kirby. We had his assistant Justin as well. Their work ethic was excellent as well as their work. Mr. Kirby is skillful and took time to explain and answer all the questions to my husband and myself. They were very pleasant to be around. The construction took them about a week. Throughout the process, their professional manner gave me sense of peace and that was priceless. Finally, we appreciate our dream wood deck everyday with our morning coffee. Thank you, Master Decks.

Master Decks = The United Airlines of builders? We chose to work with Master Decks because they projected a somewhat refined service image compared to other contractors we interviewed. We met with multiple builders who could have created a quality deck for less money, but we wanted more than a deck. We wanted good communication and trustworthy billing. We wanted a low-stress, no hassle experience, and we were willing to pay a premium to get it. So we chose the priciest bid, because we believed Master Decks would deliver better service. In the end, we did not get what we paid for. One of the biggest selling points for us was that Master Decks offered online account management. We loved the idea of a project dashboard where we could track and monitor the work, and pay our invoices in a worry-free, automated, and fully transparent environment. Pretty cool, right? No, as it turns out. Not quite cool at all. What we didn’t realize at the time, or at any point during the many weeks we used the Master Decks system, was that they were charging us incorrectly. Each week a new invoice arrived and we paid it in full, immediately upon receipt. When I say “immediately” I mean it literally. Within minutes of a new invoice posting in the Master Decks app, we paid it, down to a zero balance. Every. Single. Time. It’s not like we were gunning for a Best in Client Behavior award. We were just following stipulations in the Master Decks contract, which says that work halts immediately if an invoice isn’t paid in full, upon receipt. That seemed fair to us, so we fell in line. And as a result of our prompt and complete payments, work continued uninterrupted until the deck was done. That should be the end of the story, but it’s not. More than a quarter of a year after they finished the work at our house, Master Decks resurfaced to say they’d discovered problems in their billing system, which meant multiple accounts had been charged incorrectly, including ours. They needed us to give them five grand to make this problem right. Wait, what? Listen. We’d prided ourselves on being A+ clients. We weren’t the biggest spenders, but we tried to do everything by the letter and make the experience as pleasant for the crew as possible. Want to blast loud music on a bluetooth speaker? Feel free. Have ideas or suggestions that might make this process easier/better? Let’s hear them. Want your money the minute you post an invoice? You got it. There’s a weird kind of anger that comes up when you think you’ve done everything right, and then are told otherwise. Being “past due” on payments doesn’t feel good. It feels like a failure. Outside of a passing acknowledgement that their system was glitchy, there was no formal accountability on Master Decks’ part, no attempt to amend the problem or alleviate the stress caused by their mistake. We didn’t expect trophies for being World Class Clients, but we definitely didn’t deserve an email from owner Robert Greaves, with an ALL CAPS SUBJECT LINE, threatening to put a lien on our home. (Feel free to DM me if you want a copy of this.) So, basically, the owner of Master Decks handled this debacle with some really basic arrogance and less empathy than you expect from underpaid DMV employees. It’s like they borrowed the customer-service handbook straight from United Airlines, a company notorious for creating problems, then exacerbating stress and gaslighting their customers. My advice to anyone working with Master Decks: Micromanage the process, implement your own system of checks and balances, and don’t trust their billing. It’s worth noting, though, that you could do the same thing with an amateur builder and spend a lot less money for the privilege.

"**Update: Thank you for making payment.** Original response: The reality here is that this customer contracted and agreed to pay a certain amount for their project. Only after all work was complete and they had a beautiful deck did they refuse to pay the final amount due (which was nearly 15% of the total contract). They left a stellar review for us (attached) until we attempted to collect on the outstanding balance, which is when we suddenly became horrible people. They’ve threatened to leave these negative reviews to escape paying the amount they shorted us. We've completed everything as promised on our side of the contract. We are asking you please send the final amount due. As previously mentioned, we offer several payment options and are happy to discuss payment arrangements with you. We almost wondered if our project would be too modest for this group. The swoon-worthy pics in their portfolio are far and above what we can afford right now, but we never felt like second-rate clients. When we do hire them again, and we will, we hope Ryan Bowker and Justin Kirby will be available to take the job. These guys are true professionals. They’ve got a refreshing combination of pride in ownership and patience. We practically live in front of our computers and have a pretty limited construction vocabulary, but Ryan never condescended or rushed through explanations. Could we have hired people for less? Sure. Would we have enjoyed the process AND loved the results? Doubtful. We’re not the biggest spenders, but we prefer to pay for quality when it comes to our home. We can’t recommend these guys enough."

We were very pleased with all aspects of Master Decks' work. High quality products and excellent work on the installation. The installer came on time every day and worked long hours to get the job done, even through days of heavy rain. He was very particular about his work and kept the job site neat. He proposed a different design for a set of stairs on the deck and we like it so much better than what we had proposed. He built a railing and attached it to the house so we can use it when using the steps. They determined that the wood supports under the deck were still in good shape so they left them in place to keep the cost lower. We would highly recommend Master Decks and would be pleased to work with them again.
