I highly recommend Peter, you will not be disappointed.
equipment from very small to quite large. I figured that they must know what they are doing. I called the owner, Peter, and later sent him an email with photos and a description of the project. He came to my place to look the project over. He was very willing to let me
provide some ?manpower? to save on costs, and he gave me some helpful advice which we used which saved me a significant amount of money on material costs. Our discussion gave me a number of ideas to think about.
He gave me an estimated price range and I think I recall him saying that he prefers not to itemize, but thinks it would take about this long for about this price. As a contractor myself, I can relate to that. I had received a bid from another contractor, but decided to
go with Landscape Pickup. Everythingabout Peter was professional. He seemed trustworthy and his pricing was more affordable.
When Peter and Brian came to do the work, it was full speedahead! These guys are skilled at what they do and they are very hard working. The project included careful backfilling of irrigation ditches, grading, building window wells, spreading topsoil (140 cu. Yards), as well as spreading and compacting gravel.
Both Peter and Brian are very personable and enjoyable to work with. You can trust them to work hard and give you very good value for your money.
I am very pleased with the result of their work on my yard and driveway ? it turned out better than I imagined! They did such a good job that I will be hiring Lanscape Pickup to do another project very soon.
He has a great balance of equipment for small to larger jobs, dump truck too!
Great to work with. This is the second time I have used Peter, and will use his team again.
A couple of companies came out and provided quotes on the job. Peter was the only one to provide a quote under $2,000 to do everything except spread the sand and lay the pavers. Peter showed up around 9am each day and worked until a little after 5pm. The excavation process was fun and interesting to watch. Since the work area is below our deck, there were 4 vertical support columns to watch out for. It was very impressive how Peter was able to use the machinery in such a confined space.
In the middle of the project we decided to dispose of some of the rock in a french drain/storage pit in the yard. Peter dug about 5.5 feet deep and we filled it with landscaping fabric and rocks. He also saved us a lot of time and back pain by using his machinery to move 6 pallets of bricks to the back yard. Then, he also removed a rhododendron root that we couldn't dig out. Rather than leaving the sand on the driveway, he also brought that to the back yard and dumped it in various spots in the excavated area. This really helped to speed up the screeding process for my wife and I.
About a week after Peter had finished up, we ran out of sand due to changing the depth of some areas to a 1.5" screed instead of 1". Peter brought us another cubic yard of sand for $50.
We would definitely hire Peter again. When everything was done after the third day, we paid the $1850 (which included taxes) that Peter had estimated. But because of all the extra stuff he did for us, it was a no-brainer to throw an an extra few hundred in as a tip to Peter, bringing the 'out of pocket' cost for us to $2,150. Even then, it was still less than everyone else had estimated. It was worth every penny.
