While it began well the young man sent out ran into a snag with an older lockset. (40 years), He was unable to change the lock and was also unable to re-assemble to original condition. It still works if you hold the interior handle just right. I understood that issue and while disappointed it was not the element I am most disapointed with. While trying to remove the deadbolts he ran into some stripped screw heads in every lock, again that age factor. He tried to drill them out but was breaking drillbits and it was taking a long time. He asked me if I had a Dremel. He does not have one in his gear and so I had to go back to my other residence and get mine. Not major but not great. As I was working on other things at the house with other contractors I did not follow up on his work or have a chance to check the work. Later as I was closing up for the day I found the broken drill bits and all the shavings from his attempt to drillout the first deadbolt before I wen to get my Dremel. Leaving the metal fragments at the door he was working on is a major factor in the rating. Basically I believe he did not do the job as I would expect from a top rated service company. Now perhaps I misunderstood what the fianl jobsite would look like, but other contractors I work with do clean up after their work. UPDATE: I had another locksmith out to try to repair the hardware. It turns out the lockset did not have to be disassembled to get to the lock core. The EXPERIENCED locksmith knew the make of the lock set and how to remove it to get to the lock core. He was able to re assemble the mechanism correctly re-core the lock cylinder, and reinstall so that this classic entry set is once again functioning.
