I interviewed 3 agents, who gave me price estimates all over the map. Kent gave me the highest suggested price for my house, and after some minor remodel fixes, we listed for $15K more than his original price. He had great ideas about what house fixes would give me the biggest bang for the buck. When he noticed that one of my outside faucets wasn't hooked up, he did the plumbing himself! He also did some quick fixing of a doorknob and lighting fixture for me - a full service real estate agent if there ever was one. When I suggested listing for $5K more, he discussed it with me, explaining the wisdom of staying below a certain number in order to appeal to the right demographic, which turned out to be brilliant because it sold to a guy who wouldn't have looked at the house if it listed $5K higher. Kent put together a great flyer and web listing for me, incorporating my suggestions. I'm pretty sure Kent's the reason my house sold when not many other houses were selling.
