Because I didn't have them (Home Depot and their contractors, Norwest) do the whole job - the demo, electrical, and drywall were done by others - I think they put me at the bottom of their list as far as scheduling. After scheduling it and having the preliminary work done, suddenly they couldn't come for another 2 weeks. There was nothing I could do about it. The store refunded me $250 "for my inconvenience" but that's hardly worth my wait. My recommendation - either have them do all of the job (be prepared to pay a little more than you would with other contractors) or none.

Horrible, horrible experience. Substandard work and property damage was extensive, as reported by a reputable news station, along with other Home Depot customer’s projects. In addition, Home Depot workers damaged custom French doors that required replacement. These substitution doors have leaked ever since and cannot be opened without making the shoddy water seal worse – they have not been opened in years. They also did not re-paint the exterior surrounding the doors, stating, “We no longer paint”, even though I paid them to paint before they damaged the doors. An estimate received from another vendor to fix the doors was $4,000. Home Depot's insurance company offered to write check for $866 in trade for signing a release for all damages. My attorney advised not to sign their release and to sue Home Depot in small claims court. Be aware of hiring this 800-pound gorilla that has a national track record of broken promises and victimizing its customers!

As a business owner it has cost me loss of income due to personal time addressing this issue, stress on the financial and personal well-being. Home Depot at Home Services has failed to provide adequate and supplemental assistance in resolving this issue.

They were professional. Great work, good job. Price wise, I would consider comparing more with other companies, but for everything else I would hire them again.

They arrived early and were clean and tidy. It took them a few hours to complete the job. The finished work was done very well. They also provide a follow-up inspection.

They called saying they would start 8 AM next day. At 8:10 AM first truck pulled in, by 8:30 there were 8 or 9 guys working on our roof. By 8:45 PM that night they had finished the work required, cleaned up the property, and were on their way out. 11.25 hours work time. Amazing! They took very few breaks, a short lunch,(15 min.), and never ''sat to catch their breath''. They went over entire work site with magnets picking up nails. They even cleaned up a bit of loose trash I had laying around not related to the roof. All were perfect gentlemen! We really expected them to take 2 ++ DAYS. It was only a 2010 sq foot rambler.

I heard wood splintered on one window and was told, "Don't worry, this always happens, and we plan on fixing a few things with each job." When they were working on the two side-by-side wood windows I reminded them that they would be promptly fixing all damage to the wood "brick framing and/or supports". They slowed down some, and said, "yes, we know that we have to fix what we break." One week later, while on a ladder to prime around the new windows, I found that the window stop on one window was torn length wise, and through the full depth of the wood. I called the project coordinator, and left messages, 3 times in the next week, and it still took over 1 month to get the project manager to come look at the damage. It took another month to get the Installers back, who arrived 7 hours late, and filled the huge crack with caulking when they were told to replace it. 2 more phone calls and an e-mail to the main office then 3 more weeks to get the wood properly replaced.

THE SALES PITCH WAS VERY HIGH PRESSURED. PROMISED US A CERTAIN PRICE IF WE SIGNED THAT NIGHT, BUT SAID HE HAD TO HURRY AS HE HAD ANOTHER APPOINTMENT. AFTER WE SIGNED ON THE DOTTED LINE, WE HAD MORE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PRODUCT AND WE REQUESTED COLOR SAMPLES. THE SALESMAN WAS NOT COOPERATIVE IN HELPING, AND AFTER MANY PHONE CALLS MY HUSBAND AND I WENT TO THE SUPPLIER OURSELVES TO OBTAIN THE SAMPLES (A FAR DISTANCE FROM OUR HOME). THE SALESMAN PROMISED INSTALLATION BY A CERTAIN DEADLINE, BUT THIS WAS A PROMISE HE COULDN'T KEEP. FURTHERMORE, WE FINANCED WORK THAT WAS NOT COMPLETED FOR 3 MONTHS! IN THE END, THE ROOF AND THE GUTTERS LOOK BEAUTIFUL. I DO FIND IT ODD, HOWEVER, THAT ALTHOUGH A FINAL INSPECTION WAS MADE OF THE ROOF, NO ONE HAS CONTACTED US ABOUT INSPECTING THE GUTTERS. WHEN, IN FACT, WE ARE STILL MISSING ONE SMALL CONNECTION PIECE. I WAS WILLING TO PAY THE HIGHER PRICE FOR THIS ROOF AND GUTTER WORK BECAUSE I THOUGHT I WOULD HAVE BETTER SERVICE AND A BETTER GUARANTEE!
