It took a couple of weeks to get the windows made and they replaced them quick. It has only been 10 months and already one has failed and fogged up. They are not honoring a warranty and will not return phone calls. Very poor customer service and very poor quality windows.

We had a total of five aging (~19 years) / failed double-pane assemblies replaced in our house. The price was far less than replacing the entire windows, as well as far less intrusive. Prompt response to request for a quote. Very quick turnaround once an order was place. I am very pleased with these folks.

Not very good. The quality was fine, but their communication was awful. We gave up work days on three separate occasions and they never showed. On the fourth occasion they came, but their communication was terrible, their ability to come on time was awful. They had other commitments. I would not use them again. In fact, they gave us a credit back because they were so poor with their communication. If they were able to communicate and follow through. We try to work with people and help them be successful but if they don't show up within the window they give us, it's not a good thing. Price was good at the end, because we got some money back. Quality was good. They were very nice when we finally got a hold of them.

They charged me for install and it cost less. They gave me a price of $775.96 I paid $850 as a down payment and they have not given me a refund. I am working with my credit card company to collect the money. I've been working with the guys to see if they would do it, for a month. They did do good work but they are not honest. I will use them again if they give me the money they owe me.

Still a bit wobbly but I guess it's OK. Only real complaint was that there was confusion around when the service tech would arrive, and then our calls weren't promptly returned when the technician didn't arrive.

We were on vacation. It was good. They were quick and easy. It was our friend's car. We were borrowing it while we were home, so I don't know how it's holding up. It was good at the time when we saw it. We only saw it for a day before we returned the car, so it's hard to make a long term judgement on it.

"Dear [Member Name Removed], Thank you very much for the kind review! As the new GM for the company, I have had the opportunity to assess many areas within our spectrum of work. The one area in which I feel fully confident is our field work process. Our Tech Manager is an outstanding trainer and produces technicians that regularly give this level of service to our clients. It warms my heart to hear that Israel performed well on another job. Thank you again for your kind review. Best Regards, Hal B."

Showed up on time, replaced the glass, and cleaned up after himself. He was careful to contain the broken pieces of glass so that no one would get hurt. We have 7 kids. Was friendly to all. :)

The estimator (in person) was nice and professional and clear about costs and issues. The estimate itself was hundreds less than a more local competitor and much more complete, so I agreed and paid immediately. I had to call some days later to check on the status of the glass, but the overall time from estimate to installation date was as expected. The work itself was efficient and competent, though the employee who did it was uncommunicative to the point of rudeness. Customer service is at least half of all the jobs I've had in my career, and I realize people have bad days. I'm patient, and I tip providers (including this one) as a rule. But who enjoys working with grumps? Also, the replacement of the glass was done in a driveway with no tarp/protection to catch pieces that scatter during the process. I pointed this out, but cleanup efforts were minimal. If there's a next time I'll insist on the tarp. I would consider hiring them again (just barely) due to their competitive pricing, availability and overall work, though I'd be well rested the day of in case grump handling is required.

I had a hard time finding a glass contractor that would even touch this problem.  They all seem to want to sell you new windows.  Glass Doctor took on the job.  It is not an easy one.  It involves replacing the rotten wood with a replacement in such a way as to assure that the work performed seals the repaired area.  They demonstrated the versatility of their capabilities by doing so.  It took more than one trip.  A characteristic for which I was most impressed was their dedication and perseverance to achieving a satisfactory repair once they had started. I credit this to the involvement of Mike, one of their managers.  Needless to say, I will seek their help whenever needed.

Just my luck. I've literally been trying to get these windows replaced since the end of October. I didn't realize that things were no longer customer centric in this industry. I had contacted three other companies. One got back to me. But that was after I called his phone, which was full but the message said to text them because it would be easier. So I text. Few days went by, I never heard from them. So I thought I would come onto Angie's List and message them through that. It took a few days, but I finally got a response with a bunch of questions and then the request to email them instead because it would be easier. Well, I figured that since they actually responded in Angie's List that I would respond to their questions there. No response. So that was my fault, they asked if I would email. So I emailed them and copied all of my response that I had sent in the Angie's List message. A few days went by and they replied with a quote. I was so frustrated at how hard it was to work with them just to get an estimate, that I didn't want to chance having to work with them. Too many red flags.
Well, that is when I reached out to Glass Doctor. It was a breath of fresh air. Immediate response. Set up a date for them to come and do an estimate. The guy was very professional. The estimate was a bit higher than the one that I received from the other company. But, they never came out to take measurements, so it is likely it was wrong. I had to get the glass ordered. It was about a week for it to come it, which was what I was expecting so that was good. I received a call last Thursday that it was in and we scheduled some time for them to install the windows. Monday morning between 9-12. I received a call the next day from someone else that my glass had come in and we just needed to schedule installation. I advised him that it was already scheduled. He was surprised, but was happy that it was scheduled.
I took the day off from work and decided to work from home to get them installed. I received at call around 11:30am. I thought it was them to tell me they were on their way - I was excited because it was in the 9-12 timeframe they gave me. But the guy had to apologize because the guy who was supposed to install my glass wasn't with the company anymore. So they asked if we could reschedule for the next day. I was surprised that it took almost three hours to notify me that the guy didn't show up or something. I could have went into work. But crap happens and I get that so I'm not going to hold it against them. It is frustrating because now I have to try and take another day off tomorrow. Not the greatest time for me to be doing this, but I need to get it done. So we rescheduled for 1-4 tomorrow. I'm hoping everything is flawless from this point going forward. I'm rooting for them and will change my rating once the project is complete so I can give it the review it deserves. Right now, this is where I'm at.

UPDATE: They more than made up for yesterday. Not only were they on-time, they were early. Gave me some tips on how to keep the rest of my windows to last much longer from getting moisture in them that I can easily do on my own. Very professional, very cordial - just overall it was great today. Everything was cleaned up. Looks like they were never here. I would definitely hire them again and recommend others to do so as well.

The person who measured did not take the trim off so the measurements were slightly off. The glass still fit. Our door frame has sagged a bit so the installer wasn't able to get the door off of the track to replace the trim on one side. He worked at it until he could get his hand through a very small slot and pop the trim into place.

Work completed in under 1 hour.  New windshield installation seemed to have excellent fit and finish and was largely bright and clean.  Jay was very courteous and professional.  Subsequent inspection revealed three small greasy smudges on the inside (easily removed with glass cleaner and a paper towel) and what (looking under the hood) appeared to be a detached windshield washer hose connector (easily snapped back together).

The next day (8/14) during a heavy rain, noted that left windshield wiper arm didn't seem to be arcing as far left as previously experienced.  This resulted in some of the windshield view being obscured by rain on the left side, which could be a safety hazard.  I am not sure if removal & proper re-positioning of the wiper arms is a part of the windshield replacement process or not.  If not, this issue was not a Glass Doctor responsibility.
Will confirm and have issue corrected by customary auto mechanic.  Other than the minor issues cited, I was very pleased with their price, responsiveness, materials and workmanship.  I would recommend and use Glass Doctor of Seattle again for auto or home glass repair/replacement.

First represented showed up to inspect and measure windows.  Was quoted a price and OK'd the work.  From there, a worker showed up a couple of days later.  The cracked window broke further as he removed it, but he was professional and quick about cleaning up the little bits of glass.  He then quickly and effortlessly replaced a window with a broken seal.  Overall, the worker was nice and efficient.  I'll be calling them back if I need any work done to windows in the future.

Edit 8/29/2015 (Sat):  Happened to watch one of the windows fall out of our house with nothing more than a gust of wind.  Called and after some back and forth due to power outages, got worker from the company came out to take away the window on the ground and put a board up.  Promised a call back on Monday to schedule a replacement.  Overall the worker was very nice.

Edit 8/31/2015 (Mon): No call

Edit 9/1/2015 (Tue): I called, they apparently did order the replacement window, no knowledge of the date it should show up yet, though, promised callback to schedule install.

Edit 9/4/2015 (Fri): I called, window should show up late today, scheduled install on Tuesday, with a call promised before they arrive.

Edit 9/8/2015 (Tue): No call, yet again.  Two workers showed up on time (one worker was nice, the other was hands down the rudest employee I've let into my house).  He didn't care at all why the window would fall out, just wanted us to assume he would "do his job".  They installed the window, and it appears ok.  They also left the board they installed on our property for us to dispose of.  Hopefully this window doesn't fall out, because I want nothing to do with this company ever again.
