Gaylord Security - ADT Authorized Dealer

The service from Gaylord was terrible from the start. The technician that did the install had to come out twice and didn't carry any equipment with him. Since then we've been experiencing false alarms from time to time. Three different technicians came to the home before it was discovered one of the sensors was mounted upside down. We called ADT and told them we no longer wanted techs from Gaylord. We've continued to have problems with the system and ADT continues to send technicians from Gaylord who do nothing but check batteries on the window and door sensors.The last time we had a problem the alarm went off twice on a Sunday night. ADT said someone would be in touch with us within 24 hours. We had to call three more times durring the week and it was Thursday until someone came out. We were leaving on a Friday for vacation. The Gaylord tech came out and did the exact same lousy troubleshooting and offered no solution. We called ADT and complained. After multiple calls and hours on hold they told us they were sending someone else out. Shortly before they were supposed to arrive we received a call to tell us because of the contract with Gaylord we had to deal with their techs. I am now in the process of finding a new company. Because of the three year contract they require this is going to be very expensive to rectify. I would not recommend Gaylord or ADT to anyone who lived in the Seattle area. There are several local companies that I have talked to that offer far superior service for the same price or less.

The system was installed without delay.  All done in one day.  The issue came when we moved from one city to another.  When we told Gaylord we were moving to another city they suspended the account  until we were in the new house.  When we called to have the account activated, we were asked if the equipment from the old house was in working order.  When we told them that it was in the old house, we were told that the cost of new equipment was over $400.00 and that we would have to buy new equipment.  I asked why we were not told to move or take the equipment from the old house and all I got was "we are sorry that you were not". I asked if there was another way to have an alarm installed and was told that I would have to pay out the existing term of the contract which was just under $500.00.
We are happy with ADT but as far as Gaylord Security, will never do business with them again.

Overall went well. I went on the internet and selected ADT because I know someone who has been happy with their alarm system. I will tell you that they want all kinds of information up front, and an install fee of $99.00 before hand, guess I don't blame them. They made offers for other things, but did not push it when I said no thanks. Advice, check out all the deals that are available.
