Our experience with California Closets in Washington state has been an unmitigated disaster. To begin with, they attempted to install a unit on our wall, which failed miserably and resulted in significant damage to the wall itself. (there are about 20 large holes, and they also broke through our kitchen closets) This left us with an eyesore and we must stay in a room with a damaged wall for the foreseeable future. We are still waiting for California Closets to determine that the unit might not be installable and we no longer want to work with them. To add insult to injury, they are now subjecting us to a review before the refund process. They claim they need to conduct "extra investigations," which only adds to the burden of this entire ordeal. This happened in our bedroom and their assumption is that we have to accommodate their process from a mistake that they made. It feels like they're trying to wear us down, making the process as inconvenient and frustrating as possible. Our experience with California Closets (in Kent, WA) in Washington has been a nightmare. If you're considering their services, I would strongly advise you to look elsewhere for a more competent and reliable option, as this has been an incredibly disappointing experience.

WOW-talk about standing behind ones product
We had California Closets instal a unit in our master bedroom soon after we moved in-March 2000
6 weeks ago my wife found mold on a part of the closet wall hidden by clothes ? how long it was there we are not sure.
Called in repair/service company(Maintco) who found that a sewerage pipe had 3 pin holes in it
-probably from when closet was installed. They dealt with the mold /clean up and then quoted a price for the repair. Part of the quote included making a piece to replace a part of the original closet system. I called California Closet to tell them what happened and more importantly to have them supply us the correct part. I spoke to Don Koonce who was not happy to hear they caused the original problem. He came out/assessed the damage/report and promptly not only had the closet put back properly but covered the WHOLE cost of the repair.
I don't know how many companies out there today would stand behind their product like this -even THIRTEEN YEARS later.
I would highly recommend them for any closet system installation.

Very happy! Everything including scheduling the original appointment, the in-home design process (3D 360 degree virtual view of my future closet!), to the follow-up and installation were excellent! I tried using a local, family-owned business and was very disappointed with the in-home appointment and lack of follow-through. I called Calif Closets and am so glad I did.
