We had 10 windows, and 2 sliding doors replaced because the old windows and doors had double panes that had begun to fail (condensation between the panes), and the doors were not sliding very well anymore. Our house is from the 80’s and everything was original. The worst offender was our bedroom window on the ground floor where an active draft could be felt when the temperature dropped below 50 degrees. We’ve had to run an electric space heater at night to maintain 65 degrees since October (turning up the furnace would cook the second story where our daughter sleeps, we tried). Brightside came in and got everything replaced in a day and a half. The crew was considerate of our furniture that we moved to give them space, made sure to put boot covers on each time they came in and out (it was raining/snowing during install), and did a good job cleaning up after they were finished. The new triple-glazed windows are amazing, we were able to turn the bedroom heater down from high to medium (that’s like a 400W energy savings). I’m expecting the overall heating bill will drop, and we’ll likely use less electricity for A/C in the summer. Not to mention that the doors work so much smoother, and the windows are easier to open. The windows now offer more options for opening as (open both left and right, or top and bottom depending on the window). We love that the screens can slide from one side to the other, or with a vertical window, up and down. That’s already come in handy when we wanted to look out the lower pane of the kitchen window without the screen, but we didn’t have to fully remove it and remember where we stored it once summer comes around. Just slide it up to the upper pane. The price was fair as well. They were below the cost of Anderson windows, and I believe we got a superior product.
