Through a general contractor, Baywood Cabinets was contracted to build and install 20 custom cabinets for our Kitchen remodel project. Their mistakes caused over a 2 month delay of what was supposed to only be a 3 month project. Everything should have been delivered in one delivery and installed then. As it happened, it took them 4 deliveries and 4 separate installation visits. The sales person was apologetic, but no compensation was made for the extra 2 months of being without a kitchen in our home. We are reporting this to have others be aware of their incompetency. Schedule 1) Baywood missed their original promised delivery date on the cabinets by 2 weeks. This caused us to have to reschedule all our other contractors for the project. It was only the beginning of all the mistakes they made. Original Delivery 2) Was missing 13 cabinet doors, had to wait 4 weeks for delivery of them afterwards. 3) Had one cabinet that was not built to their own specs 1.5” short in width, reordered 4 week delay. 4) Had the corner cabinet caddy installed backwards. When trying to properly orient it, they butchered the caddy shelves drilling a dozen new holes in the shelves and cracking several of the round plastic grommets in them. Was reordered. 5) All the cabinets were delivered with too short of an overhang for proper undercabinet light installation. We swallowed that mistake, but on 2 cabinets they installed an under cabinet “skin” taking up ¼” of the overhang, causing our electrician to uninstall the original ½” undercabinet lighting housing, reorder ¼” housing and connectors and to reinstall those. Second Delivery 4 weeks later they delivered 11 of the 13 missing cabinet doors. 6) One pair cabinet doors was skipped completely when the original 13 were reordered. Those 2 doors were reordered (4 week delay). 7) 2 of the 11 cabinet doors delivered were made too long for the cabinets to be installed on, so more mistakes made. 8) One of the cabinet doors where glass was to be installed in was warped, so they had to rebuild it. Third Delivery Another 4 weeks later, the remaining 5 cabinet doors were delivered along with the corner cabinet caddy. 9) The corner cabinet caddy replacement was misordered with one that didn’t fit. It was reordered, so another 2 weeks. Fourth Delivery 2 weeks later, the proper corner cabinet caddy was delivered and installed.

I decided 2018 was the year I was going to figure out how to get my kitchen redone. I had no idea where to begin. My Kitchen remodel is awesome. I think I made all the right decisions and had the very best company to do the job. I cannot say enough nice things about Baywood Cabinets. All the people who came to my house did an awesome job. All professional, competent, respectful and careful with my home. Here is my time line. January 6th I sat at the computer and contacted 6 local cabinet companies via email/Facebook. First response they asked for measurements. I was unfamiliar with the process and did not send measurements. January 16th Baywood responded via email. Also asked for measurements so this time I sent measurements. I never heard from the other 4 companies. February 19th all the back and forth was done. We visited showroom twice, Baywood came to our house to do their own measurements. We made selections and a design was complete. Time to pay 50% and get the project going. April 27th was our original delivery date, we got lucky and delivery happened April 20. Time to pay the second half of the contract price. April 21stand 23rd, Install is done. April 25th countertop measurement. May 3rd Install countertops. May 21st and 22nd punch list addressed, Project complete. I have watched HGTV. I have always thought they do a lot in a short amount of time with a minimum of money. Do not go into your project thinking it will be fast. You are in a line and you take your turn in the queue. If you work with an awesome company like Baywood Cabinets --- it is worth taking your time.

For $27,000 in a 10x20 kitchen, we expected the best. Unfortunately, we got far from it. At first when taking measurements they seemed very professional, when cabinets were delivered they sent two under equipped and rude delivery men who trampled our plants hauling everything in. When the cabinets were installed it became apparent they were mis-measured in various places despite having the appliance models sent to them in advance. To their credit they sent replacement pieces, however they arrived weeks later painted the wrong colors. Correspondence was tense and unremorseful on their end during the process of deciding how to fix this all. It took weeks to navigate the process of repainting cabinets that were installed but partially mispainted. Several doors were remade multiple times because they left the shop warped. Replacement doors were finally installed 6 weeks later with hardware not level. 3 drawers do not open fully as they hit one of the appliance for which they had measurements. Our designer has made several attempts to contact the owner which have gone unanswered, stopped by the showroom multiple times - zero response about any of this. The experience with Baywood was a never ending $27,000 nightmare, unfortunately paid in advance at their insistence. Do not use this company. I would go to Ikea sooner next time.

It went not so well. I'm not sure where to start but I will give it a go. Our contractor recommended we go with Baywood so we drove to Kent to look the plant over, take a tour and talk to the salesman. Given what we had seen at other cabinet shops that did custom work they seemed of equal quality. We already had the plans and design work done by two very reputable local firms so we knew they were right. That was last April (2015). First we had an installation date in June, then July, and finally the first week of August was agreed on. Well, they were not ready in August and they just kept putting us off. Four weeks to match the stain we wanted, then they "ran out of the veneer" we picked for the cabinets. In late September the cabinets were delivered and unpacked by their folks. Baywood was also the installer. Several of the cabinets did not fit or were cut at the wrong angle so they had to go back. The outcome was another wait for the cabinet to be recut, still no drawers as they were wrong. We have a garage full of appliances that can't go in because the cabinets are not all in and again we are waiting. Hopefully this week we hope to hear from them. I think the company probably does okay work. If their moto is for excellance they failed miserably. Given the oportunity I would not do business with our salesman, "Phil", again. There are many good companies out there that will do a good job and listen to your concerns. I would like to update this by saying that we by-passed the salesman and talked to the owner, who turned out to be a wonderful guy who wanted to make it right. They came to our house and did everything the salesman did not do. Re-measured, talked us through the install, took stock of what we had and what we needed. We have been updated in a very timely manner by the shop forman who came to the house. We are very happy with the results and very dismayed they would have an employee that does not meet their goals, to any degree. If you deal with Baywood be guided by the owner, Tony Pinto, who will have a more experienced person guide you through the process.

We used Baywood at our contractor's recommendation when we were redesigning our kitchen and we have absolutely no regrets. Dale Sharp was our most helpful and conscientious adviser. Before his initial visit, Dale had already come up with a plan. He was very patient with us as we asked questions and asked about the possibilities of different layouts for our kitchen re-design. We ended up going with his initial recommendation. Dale helped us customize our kitchen, showing us how we could shave costs in one area to apply to another. As a result, we have beautiful customized cabinets that fit our needs exactly. While they were doing the remodel after the cabinets had been installed, some of the panels were nicked or damaged. We called Baywood and they were able to repair and re-stain the panels quickly and efficiently. We couldn't be happier with the quality or the service we received from Dale Sharp at Baywood. Highly recommended!!!!

They worked with our GC on the dimensions and all the special needs our kitchen had. Nothing in our kitchen is standard which made measurements, and communication even more critical than normal. The quality of craftsmanship was perfect. The only area they could have made better was to provide more ideas or ask additional questions regarding how the space was being used. We did not have a kitchen designer therefore I would have liked them to offer suggestions then they did. Cabinets were delivered nearly two weeks from the initial date designated. These are the two areas that could have been better. All other aspects of the work, including the quality of the product was exactly what we wanted. Our kitchen is perfect.

Cabinets are beautiful and solidly built. The service tech was helpful, responsive and professional. My cabinets were painted and there was some confusion about paint color. I picked a Benjamin Moore color and they typically use Sherwin Williams paint. If I had been told that at the outset, it would have saved the hassle of trying to match the Benjamin Moore color. There was some adjustments made to the color so I'm not sure I'll ever be able to duplicate the exact color used on the cabinets if I need to. Apart from paint color issues, I was very pleased with Baywood. They have a nice showroom that makes it easy to visualize the possibilities. I'm very pleased with my decision to use Baywood.

My contractor referred me to Baywood. I met with John Sheehan first at their showroom and then at my home. John produces design plans based on your kitchen size and constraints. As my kitchen was being remodeled with new dimensions, John used the contractors plans for measurements. We did the design in an iterative way back and forth with emails and drawings. John was very easy to work with and is very knowledgeable. My only complaint was that John tries to steer you in a simple direction. He will tell you he is doing this to save cost but I really like to know what my options are and then decide. I ended up with changes at the end as I really did want some of the higher priced options. The cabinets are very nice quality with high end features for a reasonable price. They are also locally made and I could see how they were made in their workshop. I would use them again and highly recommend them.

Things were excellent. John Sheehan came out and listened to what we wanted, then designed a cabinet to fit in there. We would use them again. I highly recommend them.
