ALL AROUND CONSTRUCTION

Initially, Dan the owner reviewed our remodeling project and gave us the estimate. We had specifically asked if he would be on site for the project and he said he would. It started out just fine but as the time progressed, we started noticing that Dan is nowhere to be found on the project site on a regular basis. While he is responsive over the phone and via email, his day to day presence working and managing the project led to many errors and communication issues. He would come to collect payment and once in a while he will show up for few hours to check on his guys.
Then we started getting frequent change orders here and there for minor stuff and also for misleading word used on the
contract. For me and quot;installing Sidingand quot; means installing siding for the whole house not just for the 1st floor. And then toward the end of the project we started getting material receipt for work done 4 to 5 month prior. Also when it comes down to quality of work, my drywall contractor spent 2 full days (7 people) correcting framing work so that it would not mess up the drywall and finishing work.

And when building the deck on the back side of the house, one of the posts was right in the middle of the window blocking view. There is plenty of space, why put the post right in the middle of the window? As a contractor and a professional, he should have planned for these issues in advance. And of course, we got charged for “change order”. Also, all of our basement windows were ordered the wrong size (off by 1' based on their own measurements they provided to us). They blamed the window
company and we ended up having to pay for their avoidable mistake. But the fact is that the contractor himself did the measurement and provided to the window company. Most of the remaining windows had to be reframed or actually shaved to
fit them in. The biggest issue is Dan's lack of willingness to do any additional work outside of the original plan even when we pay for it. He does only the bare minimum work and there were many problems which were caught with our other specialty contractors.
One thing I regret not having on the contract is time to finish. It took them 3 additional months to complete the project. Yes, 3 additional months. Overall, I’m not satisfied by their work and will not recommend them to anybody at all.

The house looks improved by about 100%. They were on the job site every day. They did everything I asked them to do. No problems what so ever. The additional work that they did was reasonably charged. They were honest, I left the house unattended so that they were able to use the restroom and my home was unharmed and secured when I returned.

I do not know the name of the plumber the company sent me, but he was especially rude, he let me know that he did not approve of my choice of waterheater, in fact, he refused to install it. I had to return it to Home Depot and was charged $50.00 for restocking! The plumber was never on time and finally broke through the bathroom wall in 3 places - an accident, I was told. The countertops were installed very nicely, but the ceiling was damaged during the window installation. The sink leaked around the edges. Overall the work required close inspection and many unfinished areas had to be pointed out more then once.

AAC WAS PROMPT AND COURTEOUS. THEY DID GREAT WORK AND CLEANED UP ALL MESSES. I WAS VERY PLEASED AND WILL USE THEM AGAIN. I AM RECOMMENDING THEM TO MANY PEOPLE.
