Window Service
All was going great until they didn't order the windows on time. I had a deadline for a huge gathering at my home and I was assured it would be met. After not hearing from them about an install date after all the measuring was complete I called and the install department let it slip that they didn't get ordered on time. She said it was probably an error in the computer and she would find out and call me back. She never did. I finally got a call about an install date from the contractor and it was a week after our gathering. I called the install department again to let them know I was upset and was told I would get a discount after the install. The guy there said he would call and see if they could move the appointment up. He never called back. When the windows were delivered I had no idea they were on the way, they called 20 minutes before delivery. I was home so that was ok. They REALLY need to work on following up and COMMUNICATION.

Window Service
Lowes contractor came out and measured the windows but they never contacted us back. We were not able to get a hold of them. They had to come out and measure three times. I signed the contract and used a Lowes credit card. To avoid having to pay their high interest rate, I paid it off. They ended up changing contractors and when they started to install, some of the windows were different from the others and we had start over again. So, this really didn't go as we had planned it to.

I wrote a review dated 5/21/2014 about my experience at the Lowe's return desk. I copied the same review and pasted it to Lowe's customer service questionnaire. At the bottom of the questionnaire it asks if you would like to be contacted about your experience. I selected and quot;yesand quot;.
I did receive a telephone call from a manager of Lowe's. He was, of course, apologetic for the rude behavior I had experienced at the Returns desk. He asked many questions, tried to give some excuses, and said thank you when we ended our call. I thought that would be the end of my situation. All done.
Boy, was I wrong.
Last week I ended up back at the Return desk. I had purchased a rotating decorative sprinkler. When I got it home it appeared as if part of the mounting system was missing. I took it back to Lowe's, not excited to go through another episode, but excited that my grand daughters were coming to spend the day and I wanted them to have fun running through the sprinkler.
Wow! Was I totally surprised. I was treated with respect and even empathy. The Returns desk employee was one I had never seen before and she was nice. She explained that the return would be no hassle and she encouraged me to go get a complete set. All of the packaging was still attached and it was obvious that it had never been used. She didn't ask for a receipt or make me feel stupid. She only made me smile, which put a spring in my step as I ran home to get ready for the children.
Thank you Lowe's for listening to my comments, but even more than that, for making much needed changes.

I am part of a family business that owns real estate rentals. We are just starting and have a lot to learn. Due to the amount that I am learning I have also started renovating my home in ways that I would have never considered years ago. I probably shop in Lowes more than I visit the local grocery store. The Lowes card appeals to me and keeps me as a loyal customer. Some of our rentals are not near my home, so I will drive across town, passing other home improvement chains, to make my purchase at Lowes and have it registered in my account. I enjoy the opportunity to keep a record of what I've purchased so that I can go back and purchase similar items in an attempt to keep my rentals, and my home, standardized.
I had a return that I needed to make two weeks ago. I presented my Lowes card explaining to the Return desk that I could not locate my receipt. I don't even want to relive the experience, much less go through a play-by-play here, but let me just say that the Return desk personnel was so extremely rude that I couldn't believe I was in the same store that I often shop. Over the last year I have needed to make returns before, and I have found that the Returns desk is often rude, unlike any other department, but this episode was obnoxious. What concerned me the most is that I was told that my Lowes card was not bringing up any of my purchases so I must have not registered it. I explained that I thought I had since I had enjoyed many of its benefits. I was then told that I must have deleted my account or done something to upset it since all of my purchases were not coming up. I'm a very reasonable and usually pleasant person, and I was shocked that the attitude I was receiving could in any way be considered customer service. Honestly, I would have rather heard that there was a glitch in the system. I didn't want to bother the Returns desk personnel any further, so I grit my teeth and proceeded to go through her abuse in handing her each of my possible debit or credit cards that could have possibly been used for the purchase. After she swiped each one she literally threw them back on the counter, sliding them toward me and saying “Nope. Not that one.” She was finally able to make the returns but I left feeling humiliated.
This morning I decided to log into Lowes.com to see if I could determine what I had done wrong with my Lowes purchase card. I was shocked, and even angered, to find that each of my recent purchases was showing very nicely, just as I had expected. I understand that any retail store does not like to have to process returns, but this kind of treatment to a loyal customer is just not what I consider a shopping experience worthy of repeat. I’m not threatening to never shop at Lowes again, but I am interested in finding out if other home improvement stores will treat me better when I use their loyalty card programs.

Carpet Installation
We talked to the sales person there. They recommended a Mohawk carpet and we picked out the one we liked. The carpet they sold us was inferior. The carpet company Mohawk blamed it on the installation. Lowe's came back out and did some further work on the installation. They fixed some of the problems but not all of it. I don't think I would make my complaint about the installers. The quality of the carpet was terrible. We thought there was some good things about it but it is the worst carpet we have ever bought. The installers I would give a C to. I would give a D to the sales person. I would give a higher grade to the instillation manager. He did an excellent job of follow up to make the best of it. He also tried to get a warranty through Mohawk but they refused to do it. I will not use this company again in the future.

Hardware & Home Improvement Stores
The Lowes employee offered to key the Slage locksets to my existing lock. There was no extra charge for this service. I was pleasantly surprised. I compared the pricing with an app on my I-phone and the pricing was competitive, even with on-line stores, which cannot provide the re-keying service. I will definitely go back to Lowes and seek out John again!

Hardwood Flooring Service
We went to Lowe's to look at hardwood floors, and talked to a very nice employee who who was knowledgeable. However, we ended up getting our floors elsewhere, but purchased baseboards from Lowe's.

I recommend them. They have an excellent service as far as coming out and doing the work with installers that contract with them. We had the best experience because I didn’t have to find my own contractors, the people came immediately, they were great people to know, and they were good workers. Everything just turned out wonderfully. Lowe’s has people that only deal with those contracts so you aren’t just working with the guy off of the floor. They have people in an office that get the contractors, they keep in touch with you, they tell you what time they are coming, they check with you afterwards, and they actually come on site to make sure you are happy with everything. I thought it was really inexpensive. I would use them again; we are considering them for new kitchen countertops.
