"We received a request for inspection service on 9/8/09 and performed the inspection on 9/9/09. We met with him at the home and explained what was being done and why. If was also explained to him that there might be an odor, burning smell, since the heaters have not been on or may have not operated for a while. the other member was not present at this time and did not show up until later. John Stevens, service technician, did not rewire, change or alter anything in the furnace, other than jumper contacts for heating elements. I called and talked to him and asked him about the service and if there was anything John might have done to the motor. He stated that John did a thorough inspection and explained the system to him and that the system was running when they left. He stated if anything further was needed to call him. We received a call from the other member on 9/14/09 around 4:15pm. and scheduled a call for 9/15/09. George Massengale, service technician, went to the residence and found the blower motor out. I received a phone call when George was at the residence and it was explained to me that the motor was bad and needed to be replaced. In the member's letter, he stated I was rude and short with him. I did ask to talk with my technician so that I could ask him what the problem was and was it something we could have caused. George felt that the age of the system was more of the issue. I explained to member that I would look into the matter and gave them a more than fair estimate to repair the heating elements, sequencers and motor. I feel that John did not do anything that caused the motor to go out. I received both letters dated 9/16/09 and 9/21/09 when I got back in the office. I also asked John Stevens to write out what he thought and felt about the accusation of damaging the motor. Based on my conversations with John Stevens and one of the members, I do not feel that we have any obligation in any resolution. Ron Bruce-Sec./Treasurer"
