They never got the Taurus to misbehave, and didn't charge me anything for their attempts. Speck Hyundai charged me $250 to change the fluid in my Taurus.

They were prompt, professional, and did a clean job. So far as I can tell, the workmanship is fine. They advised that the consistent symptom I described did not require repair. The intermittent symptom, naturally, wouldn't display at the shop. So, they advised me to drive straight to them, without shutting the car off, the next time it happens. I have no frame of reference regarding the price, but have no complaint. The experience was excellent, overall.
