My lawn mower was running poorly. My gas edger was not running at all. I took both to Personalized Service Repair (PSR). PSR provided an accurate estimate. They cleaned the carburetor on both pieces of equipment and got them running. The were very thoughtful about the cost of repair versus the cost of replacement. They also provided preventative maintenance suggestions. They did such a good job, I have recommended them to others.
"While we strive to keep all customers happy, we need to draw a line on how much money we put into a repair and if the equipment is worth it. We like to look at the equipment with an overall view of what would we do if it was ours and give our opinion on if a customer should really put money into repairs or put the money into a new unit. This particular unit was a very old craftsman garden tractor that was brought in for carburetor work and and engine service. Once we finished the work and tested the unit we found that the drive system was not working. We fixed the flat tires on the unit as well since the mower had been sitting for a long time but informed the customer that in our opinion the mower was not worth diving into further. A temp adjustment might have worked but it was nothing that we could stand by with our warranty we provide our customers after repair. Very happy that the customer has gotten the mower to work since we put the money into the engine repair and disappointed that we were not able to completely satisfy our customer."
We took three lawn mowers in to be serviced. On craftsman rider, and two push mowers. None of the three even ran when we took them in. The service was great. He finished all three before his estimate - and during the busy season!
We felt the prices were very reasonable and he called to go over everything before he completed the repairs to get approval.
Would definitely use him again and recommend to anyone needing repairs done.
The lawnmower runs great now and I'm looking forward to using it for many more years. The motor manufacturer Tecumseh is no longer in business, so that means a bit more money and wait. They turned the repair around in just under 2 weeks with most of the time spent waiting on parts. If you have good older equipment - don't throw it out. Get it repaired because it's better than the stuff for sale today. If I run into problems on my other small equipment, I'll definitely go back to PSR.
