Initial delivery went great, including bringing material down a steep driveway for easy access to my project. I ran out of stone before my project was done, so called Mark who promptly arranged for free delivery of additional material the next day (this is a 30 mile trip through the middle of Seattle's notorious traffic). Considering that delivery would normally have cost over $300 and that I am a small retail customer, this is responsiveness above and beyond what I expected and commend Mark and Marenakos for exemplary customer service.

We needed 3 large boulders in our front yard moved to new locations, also in the front yard. After setting up a date with the firm, they called back and asked if they could do the job sooner because they would have heavy equipment in the neighborhood the following morning. Marenakos sent a huge boom machine and a skillful, cheerful operator who twirled the boulders around like he would a dance partner and placed them perfectly.  Instead of looking like a fake Stonehenge, the rocks now look as if they have been there since the last glacier departed.

As I didn't seek competing bids, I can't judge the price.

The helpful sales folks were around when we needed an opinion or assistance, but didn't hover over us like used cr salesmen, which we really appreciate. We plan on making more purchases from Marenako's when we need more rock or designer gravel.

We did not have a good experience with Marenakos Rock Center.  It began with purchasing a number of large landscape stones for a building project.  I had clearly told the sales representative that I was particular about not having the stones handled with mechanical equipment and was assured they would be moved with fiberglass bands so that they wouldn't be damaged during moving or transport.  That was the first problem but possibly the more forgivable considering what followed.  I met with the representative and got a verbal quote on cutting material for 860 linear feet of garden path.  We discussed in detail that the slabs needed to be cut from natural granite boulders in the size range of 3-4 feet in diameter and thickness of 2".  He assured me it would be no problem, calculated the cost (which was well over $40,000)...I left him a check for the full amount and was told the entire order would be complete within 60 days.  Subsequently I called and asked him what would be done with the smaller pieces (less than the required 3 foot diameter) and he told me I was paying for all the material and they would be happy to include it at no extra cost.  When I went to check on the progress I found pallets of stone that were not at all to my specifications.  All material was to have natural edges.  Much of what was there was larger stones piece broken in half or with badly chipped edges.  At that point the sales rep apologized, pulled the tags from the unacceptable pallets of stone and assured me it would be redone.  At the same time I located pallets of the smaller stone material obviously cut from the ends of the stones that I had been told were included in the transaction but they were marked "sold" to another client.  I obviously objected.  Later I received an email saying that they had decided the order was "custom" and they would be happy to do it but the cost increased to over $120,000.  This was despite the fact we had discussed the exact perimeters of what we wanted with the representative several times.  I then cancelled the order and told them I would look elsewhere for the material.  Located a company in British Columbia that said they would be happy to do it but just as they were about to give me the bid I was "informed" by them that Marenakos Rock Center was their agent in Washington State and I would have to buy the material from them.  I later found New Castle Stone in Victoria British Columbia and they cut the material and did a beautiful job...all for the price that I was originally quoted from Marenakos Rock Center.   To add insult to injury the last large stone I had purchased and paid for was not delivered to site.  When I called to ask where it was I was told that they had "sold it to someone else" and then given a credit on my credit card.  If you deal with these people make sure you have any agreement in writing.  In my experience verbal agreements and a hand shake don't work here.  As the largest supplier in WA State of landscape stone they are pretty much the "only show in town" though I believe an enterprising individual can find the same material elsewhere.

A very good experience. Marenakos is well-known for their excellent selection and professionalism. However, I'm a consumer and thought I could have rocks delivered to my home. Those services aren't available (although they can recommend a third party). This is a place for contractors, landscapers, etc. to purchase beautiful rocks, stones, and boulders. My contractor Rick Young picked up the stones during a rock garden install. I highly recommend Marenakos for any stone, rock, etc. purchase you might want to make. You can spend a lot of time just walking around the area admiring all the lovely hardscaping items they have.

They were very helpful and treated us very well. They showed us around the yard, helped us select the product. We paid for it and they delivered on time. For the amount they did, I was satisfied with them. What stands out about their work is that they have a nice variety of equipment. They are very knowledgeable about what it is and what applications the various stones can have. In fact, they are knowledgeable about everything they have. We have used them a number of times over the years and will probably use them in the future.
