If you want to Pay a ton of money for a terrible service pick this joke of a company that employs incompetent people. Besides the many mistakes on my documents my appraisal was over 15% lower 80k to be exact then the next appraisal. It ruined my refi and cost me 900$ Definitely would never recommend this company!!

Working with Mahon and Rutledge was very professional and made the experience smooth and easy. I definitely recommend this business if you want a accurate appraisal!

The appraiser called at 12pm the day of saying she had an emergency with a trainee on another appraisal asked if we could reschedule for another day or do it later (our appointment was at 1pm), it was changed to 4:30pm the same day. Then at 4:30pm she called saying she wouldn't get there till 5:15pm. She arrived at 5:15pm and the appraisal began. She said as soon as she arrived, that she wasn't sure how many comps she would be finding, as there weren't many and asked us for suggestions. She walked through everything and left. Later she texted me asking for me to send pictures of the street that she forgot to take. The problem in the end was the appraisal, if I put the house on the market for the value she said it was, there would be a bidding war and it would sell for $150k more per developers and real estate agents in the area. She compared our house that was built in 2003 to houses 30 years older that are tear down cabins on the lake. Our garage that was built in 2005 for $60,000, we got $45,000 of credit. The garage is 30 feet x 40 feet x 20 feet tall and engineered for a second floor of living space to be added. It is professionally landscaped and was compared to properties that had zero landscaping. It was a bad appraisal. We respectfully asked for a reconsideration, in which it was not changed and her rebuttal points made no sense. There were several typos in her response. We would not recommend this company.

After submitting my F rating review on 04/26/16, I was contacted by Andrew Mahon two days later on 04/28/16.  Andrew introduced himself as the owner of the company and explained that he was contacted by Angie's List about a negative review I posted.  Andrew asked for the details of my experience and after hearing it he apologized for my poor experience, explained that it was unacceptable and that they will be providing the appraisal free of charge.  I received the appraisal via email one day later on 04/29/16.  I found it to be detailed, thorough and of high quality.    The appraisal came in on the last day before losing my buyer and it indeed saved the sale.  Based on this I raised my rating from an F to a C thinking Andrew's excellent intervention offset Kirk's lousy service.

I interpreted Andrew's demeanor and willingness to correct my previous experience to mean that he has high standards and does not accept lousy representation by his employees.  With that in mind I recommend making careful consideration when working with some of his employees.

I believe my overall experience and positive outcome are due to the follow up by the Angie's List team and a testament to their dedication and desire to connect good people with good companies!
