About us

Kelly's Woodcraft ( www.kellyswoodcraft.com ) provides custom handmade furniture and design where you are part of the decision process for that inspired woodworking project. Furniture for inside your home or in the back yard. All of the designs are made of solid hardwoods from around the world and are certified sustainable growth from local sources. Using traditional joinery eliminates hardware and ensures furniture that will be around for generations. I have 20 years experience as a woodworker to help guide you with the design process. All design concepts are created on a CAD (computer) program which give you a very good conceptual idea of what your idea will end up like. From our conversation a FREE estimate is provided to you. With agreement on final design and wood species selection half of the quoted estimate price is requested. Then materials are purchased and work begins on your project, giving updates and timelines along the way. Handcrafted furniture depending on scope of needs can take 2 - 6 weeks to build. Recommended finishes are oil, shellac, varnish, urethane and wax. Upon completion I will deliver to your chosen location if within a 50 mile radius of Seattle. Remaining balance is due at this time of delivery. Outside of this area national carriers are used and only charge what they charge.

Services we don't offer

Painting furniture is not preferred but will consider requests. Matching damaged antique colors. On site jobs, woodworking is only done in my shop. No completed furniture inventory is kept, meaning each and every piece is built to your specifications so calling for a delivery tomorrow is not possible.

Kelly is nice, professional, skilled and fairly priced. He also met his estimated price and timeline. If you're looking for good quality work at a fair price then you can't go wrong hiring Kelly. Highly recommend :-)
Description of Work: Kelly built custom book shelves and a small guitar amp stand to very precise specifications.

Kelly did a great job. He was very responsive to all my emails and he was upfront about costs. We went to drop off our furniture with him (he did offer pick up) and had a great discussion about exactly what I wanted. Kelly pointed out that the furniture was built without nails, but he would have to add some in order to do the work I requested. I dropped it off on a Saturday and it was ready on Sunday. I was unable to pick it up and sent my father.
Description of Work: I asked Kelly to alter an entertainment center I already owned. It was a custom furniture piece and I really wanted it altered in a way that it looked the same, but was shorter.

We had several conversations with Kelly about the options available to us for the repair of the table. Kelly was able to design the repairs in a way that far exceeded our hope and the outcome was fantastic. An 18" split in the table top was turned into a design element that is perfect. He went on to design legs that matched to complete the table, He completed the project time, was a delight to work with and we were very pleased with the entire process.
Description of Work: I had a beautiful cherry table that had been badly damaged in shipment. Kelly was able to repair the damage by creating an ingenious way to remove the damaged portions of the table and then inserting complimenting woodwork not only in the damaged areas but in away the balanced the repairs so that they looked like they had been originally intended and improved the overall appearance and strength of the table

The job did not reflect Kelly's craft he, is a terrific artist, but he had done a previous table for us and we knew the job would require a level of craftsmanship beyond the normal installation of drawer runners. Kelly was happy to do the job for us and we are again delighted with his craftsmanship.
Description of Work: We have custom cherry cabinets in the Kitchen and great room. The cabinets were built 25 years ago and the runners no longer worked smoothly and were not of uniform dimensions. Kelly replaced all the runners for 15 drawers which required hand planning of each support.
