Elite Hardwood Floors Co

Vic and Elite Hardwood flooring recently finished installing beautiful Brazilian Redwood flooring (about 1,000 SF+) in our house. They did both floors and stairs and did a masterful job. Vic was extremely communicative and helpful throughout the process. We had several other quotes, but none were willing to go the extra mile to interlace the new flooring into our existing flooring, and some said they just couldn't find the product. Vic also suggested some great wooden vents to replace the metal grills we had and have good advice as to how many sealer coats (don't skimp- it make s a huge difference long term- ) While not the cheapest, you get what you pay for and I could tell we got the best. What I especially appreciated was Vic being straight and not over-promising as far as how long things would take and what it would entail. His priority was making sure the job in the end was done right and his years of experience showed. Would highly recommend. May well be the best company going in our area.

Work was excellent, but due to illness and other problems, took a little longer than expected.

Excellent work at a fair price. Professional, friendly, knowledgeable. Vic (the owner) was very easy to work with and explained all the details of the job including any needed changes when new/ unexpected things surfaced due to some unusual things with our house. We also appreciated his flexibility and patience when we were unsure of some details of the job (e.g. colors, trim style). You can see that Vic takes a lot of pride in his work. He sort of sees it as a reflection of himself I think. You can also see his care and pride in his work by how emphatic he was (in a very kind and fatherly way) about how we should care for our floor. We are very happy with our new floor and would definitely recommend Elite Flooring to others.

We are absolutely thrilled with our floors. The workmanship is beyond compare. Elite Hardwood completed 2 rooms and refinished an entry way and kitchen for us. They seamlessly transitioned the rooms as though they had always matched the existing wood. Vic was very knowledgeable and prevented us from making some rookie choices. Jose was the main worker and did a fantastic job.

Vic was amazing! It was a technical job and his experience was invaluable. I would recommend him and hire him again without hesitation.

We engaged Vic to replace our upstairs hardwood floors. We had 3/4 hickory overlaid on our existing hardwood floors (using glue and nails). It totaled about 1200 sq feet. Vic dealt with multiple changes prior to starting.

The project took about 4 weeks to complete. It not only included the floor, but refinishing the stairs to match the floor, and dealing with all kinds of trim and molding issues.

Vic's was not on-site everyday, however his crew was excellent. We lived in the house during the bulk of the work, and they were professional and responsive to our concerns and changes to the design and work.

Vic also offers custom heat registers that matched the floor, these really are excellent.
The floors have turned out fantastic, we regularly get compliments on the floor.

Vic came in on bid, and overall it was a good experience.

We had a couple problems but Vic was very responsive to my concerns. Overall A+ !

Vistor schedules his guys tight. We had several half days, but he was alsos able to give us notice about when they would be there. 
We had minimal chaos. The workmen always left with thnigs being cleaned up and shipshape.

The installation went very smoothly. I bought some expensive hickory flooring so wanted to make sure the floor was installed properly.



Vic's installer did an excellent job, and completed the job in a day.

UPDATE: They stole a video game console and 2 games. We filed a police report when the items went missing, but weren't yet confident enough that it was Vic's sons to make an accusation.  On 6/15, the police told us that the items had turned up in a pawn shop. Today they showed my husband the tape, and it showed Vic's son pawning the items.  As you can see in my review, Vic's two sons did nearly all the refinishing work for our house. The police are now looking for him; he has not been arrested yet.

We had a poor experience with Vic and his company:

- The quality did not match the price: yes the floors are refinished, the rotten boards are replaced, and the new floor color is beautiful.  But there are still nail holes along the walls from pulling up the carpet.  And now, one month later, cracks have started appearing between the floorboards!!  We want them fixed, but are very hesitant to call him back and ask him to warrenty his work, due to our poor experience with his company.  Also the new surface scratches easily, and many scratches from our 2 dogs are already visible in the floor.  (For comparison: we had the hardwoods in our old house for several years, with the same dogs, and never saw any scratches at all.)

- Communication was poor: This was our first experience refinishing a hardwood floor, so we had no expectations going into the job.  Vic never stated how long the job would take, and did not explain that we would not be able to live in the house while the finishing compound was being applied, because of the compound curing time, and the fumes.  On the first day that the compound was being applied, they told us that they would be doing that step, but did not explain the fumes or curing process.  Due to a family emergency, we had go out in the morning and were gone all day.  We came home to a placard on the door explaining that we shouldn't walk on the floors; when my husband entered the house, the fumes were unbearable.  But we had no clothes packed, and no alternate place to sleep.  We were completely un-prepared and had to scramble to make arrangements, because they never explained what was going to happen.  This was especially difficult because we have a newborn and a toddler, in addition to our dogs.  Another example: After the job was over, Vic's crew accidentally left their compressor at our house; we talked to him about coming to get it, and he said he would be by that evening to pick it up.  He never came, and then showed up un-announced two days later to get his compressor, ringing the doorbell repeatedly and waking up the baby.

- Professionalism was lousy: While on the job, Vic's crew (his two sons) had loud arguments with each other, shouting various swear words at the top of their lungs.  They also left tools and garbage behind.  They also responded poorly to feedback: When we talked to Vic about his company's poor communication about the floor curing process, he said he had explained (he hadn't), and that it was entirely our fault that we were caught un-prepared.  Additionally, when we brought up the problem of the un-patched nail holes in the floor, they agreed to patch them, but then they still left a bunch.

Everything went well, they were able to do the job independently, and it looks great!

Vic was very responsive in setting up our initial appointment and going through our options.  We bought the $1299/500 sq ft deal and agreed they would provide a nice underlayment and cover the price over 500 sq ft.  Vic arrived on Tuesday with his worker and left him to it, and he was great!  Very attentive to the level of the floor and got it installed on time, even coming on Saturday to do the finishing touches.  Would use again!

I have had good luck with Angie's list before, but this has to be the best experience I have had with any contractor.
My floors are beautiful! Victor and his crew worked around my schedule since I travel so much to finish my floors
in record time. And although I wanted my floors to be done rapidly, I was more concerned that the floors be installed with
attention to detail. And they were. I wish I could attach some photos of my floors. They are wonderful.

Floor installation - Part2

Victor's crew came in and finished my last remaining bedroom in one day. The crew did an excellant job as I expected they would.
As a bonus, Victor installed hardwood flooring for my stairway landing with the extra hardwood that I had left over from my last bedroom install.

I was very happy with my experience with Elite Hardwoods and the owner, Vic. I had a quick turnaround at a rental unit to refinish hardwoods that were roughed up over the last 15 years. He was very responsive on calls and meetings working around my hectic schedule and actually worked faster than I thought was possible. He was in and out quickly, with his team starting over the weekend when former tenants moved out. Price was for moving appliances, toilet, baseboards, and refinishing ~700sqft with some tight spaces, and high end finish for wear and tear. Quote detailed out all of the expected expenses. Well worth the price paid and would use Vic again.

I could not have asked for a better service from Vic and his team.  We had a very short deadline to install 3 floors of flooring before we moved into our home and a pretty tight budget.  Vic was one of the first people I called (off of Angie's List based on reviews) and he was extremely helpful.  He always picked up my phone calls and/or got back to me right away.  He worked with my schedule (around the painters) and helped me find the places to get the materials I needed and showed me how to save money and get what I wanted within my budget without trying to sell me on something I did not want.  Him and his team always arrived right on time, or earlier.  They completed the job before our deadline and over the next couple of weeks, I had more work I needed to take care of and Vic fit us into his schedule right when I needed to.  I could not have asked for a better experience.  You can trust Vic and his team to deliver the highest quality of work, at a fair price and always on time - we were in great hands and no one can believe how beautiful our floors turned out...and with so no issues or problems!
I still cannot get over how easy his team was to work with - so accommodating and hard working.  I would call Vic again and again and recommend him to anyone I know...in fact, I do recommend him constantly!
