CLASSIC KITCHENS & BATHS

This is the worst shopping experience of my life!!! Went to this vendor to buy a bath vanity and matching mirror. Owner, Todd Lachmann, gave me a lame story about why he doesn't accept credit cards. (Something about prior fraud and being in a class action lawsuit with Merchant Services.) Waited a week to give this guy a check for $1,648.08, so that I could make sure he was for real. I didn't research hard enough apparently! He cashed my check on 4/29/08. It's now 7/26/08; Todd Lachmann still has my money - he's skipped town a couple of times (supposed to attend to a family medical crisis), my products were never ordered and he so far refuses to give my money back. I started doing more research: turns out Todd Lachmann let his WA State business license expire at the end of January 2008 and still hasn't renewed/reinstated it!!! I called his bank, his landlord, the company that manufactures the bathroom cabinetry. I filed complaints with the State Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau. I searched for his name in the King County records database. I reported him to the city of Issaquah for operating without a valid business license. I filed a police report with the Issaquah Police dept. The police were able to track him down two weeks ago, he lied to them and said that he had already talked to me and that he would refund my money. I caught up with him by phone later that day and he swore that he would refund my money. He still hasn't refunded my money and now he's stopped showing up at his shop!!!! I've left voicemail and email messages every single day and Todd Lachmann will not resond to them. I drive by the shop frequently and he's never there. I'm at my witts end! I gave this guy/business my money in good faith to order a simple vanity and mirror. He has been a nightmare to deal with and all I want is my money back at this point. At this point I really have no alternative left but to file suit in small claims court. I'm so utterly disgusted by this whole experience. If there is anyone else out there who is experiencing the same situation with Todd. Lachmann/Classic Kitchens & Baths then please, please contact me. I have to believe that I'm not the only customer he's doing this to.
