Masonry Work
$7,000
Did ok on the tile, but damaged a piece of exterior column molding then just pieced it together with mastic and left it unfinished. The concrete wall was formed without drainage holes and was not finished in the color we chose and he did not backfill behind it, clean up the work area or clean up the culvert area that became clogged due to the debris he left behind. In addition, the work area where the forms for a pathway were being placed were left unmarked with rebar sticking out of the ground. This created a hazard that became evident when my wife tripped on the unmarked rebar, fell on her face directly onto the wooden forms & rocks, causing her to be taken to the hospital by ambulance after she was found on the ground by a neighbor. She required stitches within millimeters of her eye and sustained major bruising and abrasions including a black eye. When informed of what happened Dino barely apologized for the negligence & immediately asked for more money to proceed with the work. Throughout our dealings with Dino he barely communicated with us and became surly whenever we questioned anything. We never knew when he would show up & when he did he spent most of his time on the phone or talking to his worker. We had to purchase additional concrete (600 lbs worth) & pick it up for hime when he did not bring enough to do the job of skim coating the existing wall. He did a terrible job coating the wall, it was inconsistent in texture and color along the entire wall. Most importantly, Dino represented himself as being licensed by the State of Washington (as printed on his quote) which was not true. Upon checking with the Licensing Board I found out that his license expired and his insurance was cancelled at least two years earlier. We asked him to leave our property after my wife's injury and upon learning that he was in fact unlicensed and uninsured and doing his work illegally. He did not finish the work he was paid to do.
