Best price out of 6 bids! Joel was quick and efficient. I appreciated the open communication during the entire process. I was hesitant due to other reviews but he exceeded my expectations! My roof looks great and I love supporting small businesses. Best price by far and passed inspections with flying colors!

This company I originally found on this site but now that I am reviewing them they seem to have dropped off the list. And that does not surprise me. Personable at first, later we found Joel was very difficult to work with. There always seem to be some excuse, or someone else to blame. It was a job from hell, but it seems for him, many are. The project left for almost a month with paper. We had interior drywall damage, a property littered with nails, gutters filled and overflowing with rough debris, downspouts plugged. Did not pass inspection, got busted for not having harnesses on, did not put on proper flashing, did not realize he needed a building permit. It could not have gone worse with Dicks Roofing . Never trust a roofer who shows up on the job site and asks to use your ladder.

We did not require him to get a roof permit, our first mistake. Not firing him when his crew left roofing nails and material all over the deck and dog run was our 2nd mistake. Apparently Joel does not know how to do torch down. The roof was fine, no leaks until after he laid a new layer down. We wanted to improve the flow. The first rains came and the roof leaked over the garage. He tried to blame it on a leak we had fixed 8 years prior. He did come out, but could not locate the leak. The rains returned a couple months later and though contacted repeatedly, Joel kept saying he would be back out and take care of any damages, but never came back out. I threatened to sue and discovered his license was expired. He sent out a friend, also not licensed, but an expert in roofing, supposedly. He viewed the video we did of an inspection of Joels work on the torch down (bc it was tarped and late in day) and he agreed with 3 other contractors that Joel did not install the torch down correctly. Also, the product sales rep agreed it was done incorrectly. Mean time, by Nov, the leak came through the ceiling in the entry. By December, the leak was filling up the ceiling light fixture in the master bedroom. All the while, Joel said he would be out and failed to appear. We found out his license expired so asked him to pay for the repairs to our home. I sent him a bid and he disagreed with it. His work was crap and we are consumers left holding the bag. Never before have I had such treatment from a so-called professional. He has no regard for his customers, all talk. He needs to make this right. We are suing his bond, if someone else does not get to it first. His liability insurance wont help us because, get this...he has a clause that if he does not want to pay his deductible, the ins co wont settle a 3rd party claim. No consumer protection! Joel has put our home at risk and is not working with us to make it right. I just discovered he has renewed his license. Beware all, his bond expires 2/7/24. I sent him videos, pics, emails, texts and phone calls. All documented. And now, I see he's moved his residence. Trouble is following you, Joel. You should not treat people this way. I think you want to do the right thing. Step up, do the right thing for us. Hire someone to fix the roof the right way, and pay our contractor to repair the interior damage. Oh, and the shingle part of the roof, has 2 leaks now on the north side transition. The flashing is not sealed I think. Even your friend said the job you did on the flat has to be removed. Why not just pay the bid I sent you? Roof was certified in 2021, no leaks until you ruined it. Hope your reading this. If you had a conscience, you would make this right. We thought you had character, apparently not the good sort. Prove me wrong, not with more talk, but good actions.

Joel was extremely helpful. He was prompt, friendly and offered multiple solutions to our leaking chimney. He took the time to explain all of our options and made the whole experience positive. When the job was done, our chimney was tipped at an angle, when I asked him about hit he said I would need to get some cables and anchor it...I would have thought that would be part of the installation.

I got a quote from another company, not gonna name any names but it was ridiculous. I called dicks, and joel was able to save me 4 grand over the cost of inflated big company prices. He and his crew were on time, clean, used tarps to keep my yard clean, and replaced any decking that was soft or rotted out. Super friendly, straight to the point and didn't BS me over cost. Would recommend 100%. Thank you once again for securing my home.

Joel was awesome. He really helped me out when I was in a bind and had a really bad roof leak. Can’t thank him enough.

Joe treated my 90 year old father like gold, he not only showed a great respect to an elder Navy veteran but he also restored faith that there are still people who show respect and kindness, all while doing a great job! This is Mr. Boots 3rd roofing company, he has claims against all his previous companies and violations for performing work he is not licensed to perform. He tore the roof off our home then claimed he could not get the underlayment he needed to cover before a rain storm. We fired him and have a claim against his bond. He has been sued and had judgements awarded for non payment of materials and for offering to do work he is not licensed to perform. All this information can be found by searching his name on the Washington Labor and Industries website under Verify a contractor HE IS A SCAM ARTIST

When they give their word with what they are going to do, they do it! I appreciate that he followed through with everything he told me he would do. They have integrity.

Joel was excellent, very friendly and outgoing made the whole process very relaxing and not stressful at all. He was patient with me when I failed to return or answer phone calls. His prices seem very fair and he even helped with selecting materials and explain to us why we should avoid certain materials. He did a great job on the roof he cleaned up afterwords and was very professional about the repairs he did, he explained a lot of what was going on to us and even offered to help us find people to help with interior repairs. We definitely will be calling Joel in the future for any of our roof repair projects.

He spun off from working for another large roofing company, so his son can develop a skill and inherit the business.

Great job in a minimal amount of time. Cleaned the area and you would never know they had been there. One of the very few companies who bothered to respond to my request for bid. I would hire them again.

Very nice and courteous... showed up when they said they would and helped with insurance. I had trouble getting someone to return my calls. Joel returned my call (only roofing contractor who did) and the rest is history. I would hire him again.
