All is well.

Two male housecleaners came promptly at the appointed time, made a review of the home, and went to work from the top to the bottom.  They had to overlap their work with the gentleman who came to clean the windows and the carpets but they coordinated it all very effectively.  (It helped that they worked alongside the gentleman before.)  Though I had already cleaned the oven (using the self cleaner), the men cleaned everything else so well and that includes dusting/cleaning all the logs, the very high ceiling fan in the living room, moving within the room where they sat a bed and a futon (which were left behind by the previous owner), interiors of all cabinets, bathrooms including an extremely dirty shower (which they turned into a very nice shower), tracks of sliding doors and of windows, the refrigerator (interior and exterior, pulling it away from the wall as well to clean the back), cleaning underneath the refrigerator and stove.  I did not see a spot that was not presentable to potential renters!  Super!

I had Scrubbles came in to do a 6hour deep clean of my kept up house. They missed many things on the list and sent two more cleaners to finish the job the next day. Then upon my first routine clean service two weeks later the cleaner missed many major items & they sent another cleaner to finish the next day. Both times the second cleaner finished the job to my satisfaction. The manager was very responsive and cared about my concerns.

Call me old fashioned. Yes children and dogs love me. My friends know who they are and I know right from wrong. So when I learned Scrubbles, and thereby all the hard working people and the staff and the owner were maligned I had to speak up. On recommendation (by friends), Scrubbles people began cleaning our home 4 years ago. From the very start (the walk through, estimate of time and cost) i have felt well cared for. The people sent have been well trained, thoughtful, and professional. The cleaners have been expert and Scrubbles very flexible regarding extra projects or altered time tables. More they have been very open to critique, their aim to improve in any way they can on the customers behalf. The 1 or 2 times something has been broken or damaged over these many years, the OWNER has talked with me/us the SAME DAY, and , without exception repaired, replaced and/or paid for (and even one time went the SAME DAY when "company was coming") the item, always within 1 day to 2 weeks. So, I am baffled by any other claim, since they have (Scrubbles) been so consistently interested in "Making it Right." To me, such vitrioll seems somehow vindictive and/or libelous, it's so at odds with my/our experience of Scrubbles. Thank you for the space in which/with to defend house/home cleaners (The BEST I've known in the years since I've become too injured to clean our own home in over 25 years). Thank you Scrubbles! My home was scheduled by Scrubbles of Gig Harbor to thoroughly clean my vacant home, the day before it closed on a real estate sale. I dropped by the house in the late afternoon to find two boys, around twenty y/o sweeping the kitchen floor. When asked what time they arrived, one boy mentioned 10 AM. I was surprised by the lack of work that had been accomplished in six hours. I suspect they arrived maybe one or two hours before me. Good God, it was a relatively clean 1200 sq ft rambler. I left the property and returned the next day because of my concerns with the quality of employees. It was obvious that a number of basic cleaning areas had been glossed over or not completed at all. Appliances, kitchen cabinets, mini blinds, bath tub, ect. I called the office manager up immediately and detailed the shoddy performance. No way was I going to pay $275. I offered her $150 to settle the matter, because indeed she had continually referenced the company's "guarantee". She accepted my offer. Next day I get a call from the owner. She launched into a tirade of skipping out on my obligations to pay $275. She was not interested in her employees lack of skills or the company's satisfaction guarantee. When she realized that I was not going to budge from my dissatisfaction, she hung up on me. Jezzzz....what was that all about? I thought, as the owner, she was calling to apologize for the shoddy workmanship. Oh well, Scrubbles just lost any future business from me and anyone I could tell the story too.....like Angies List!!!

They provided their services at a good price. If I wanted them to do something, I told them ahead of time about the work. They would even make the beds, if I asked them to. They however, didn?t use their own cleaning solutions and their own vacuums. So, you needed to have the stuff for them. There was a different cleaner every week. Some of them were good while others were terrible. So, I had to call the company to send another person over. I didn?t like doing that because I felt terrible. There was a nice girl, who came over, but she never emptied the vacuum bag and she almost broke my vacuum cleaner. When I talked to her regarding that she said that it wasn?t her job to change the vacuum cleaning bags. I called the company about what she told me and they ended up firing her. Later, she came back to me and requested me to hire her privately. I found that very awkward. I didn?t tell the company about that though. There were other people who came over and talked to me or talked on their cell phone continuously. They were slow at work. I found one girl cleaning the place with just water. It got to the point where I wanted to discontinue with Scrubbles Cleaning Service. When they asked me for the reason, I told them that they had sent a lot of strange people and they weren?t consistent. So, they worked out a plan where they sent only Nicole or Paula, who were great cleaners. I must say that they did what they could to make me happy and to make me stay with them. I was very happy with them until the point I no longer needed their service. So, I stopped using Scrubbles Cleaning Service at the beginning of the year.

I hired them about a year and a half ago and since, they have been in my home several times. My first issues were not major, it just seemed like working out some kinks (I just figured I had high standards). Upon their first time cleaning, my roommate reported that the girls did not stay as long as promised. They were short by about 45 minutes. I called the company and was refunded for that cleaning. Next, I found the girls to be missing huge areas or items. Areas of floor missed, mop water left in sink, large areas not dusted, etc., very obvious. I, again, had a talk with the company. They, again, offered their apologies and said they would work on it. Next, they sent in a woman who smelled so bad that we had to light candles and incense to get the smell out of the house. Not exactly what one would call a "clean house". Things got better for a while as they started to send a regular woman at my request. She was good most of the time, but by no means stellar. Although, this company does charge about $20-$40 less than most, so I was willing to put up with sub-par performance. Then one day they sent a new girl. This girl scratched my dining room table horribly. I have pictures. Then, she put a spot carpet cleaner over the scratch to cover it, like the first thing I was going to do was not pull a dirty carpet cleaner off of the table we eat at. Needless to say, I no longer use this company's services. They have been great so far in working with me to get the table repaired, but how could they not.

The owner came and personally did the initial estimate, she is very friendly and professional. We had about 6 cleaning sessions. The level of cleaning was "light" not deep. They do not move light furniture (ex. an ottoman on wheels) to vacuum underneath. They didn't windex all of the mirrors, they used only water and not the pine sol I provided for mopping. They didn't empty the wastebaskets in the bathrooms. There were still hairs and soap scum in the tub and sink after being "cleaned". There were rings from beverages on the tables that were "dusted". They nearly broke our vacuum because they vacuumed three floors of our house without emptying the vacuum bag even once. Overall having to ask the cleaner to use the cleaning products provided and not just wipe everything with a wet rag, vacuum in the corners, dust the cobwebs up, etc. is frustrating. I found myself needing to clean after they left. Their employees also do not seem very happy with their jobs and have difficulty staying on task.
