What that means is we will advise alternate solutions that make the vehicle meet your needs without compromising safety and dependability. About us: Mackert Automotive has become a highly respected and trusted automotive repair facility serving the southern Puget Sound region since September of 2001. Now employing five full-time technicians, Mackert Automotive offers a broad range of services for virtually all years and makes of vehicles. They specialize in those pesky instrument panel warning lights. They do not sell tires, who wants to compete with Les Schwab? September of 2012, we are celebrating our 11th year of service to you, our customers. We thank you for our growing success and hope we may continue to serve you in the years to come.

He had to do a lot of stuff so I wasn't surprised at all with the price. Our experience is perfect. They're honest. Everything has been perfect with them. They were highly recommended and they've been great. They've told us some things not to do. When they say not to do something, I trust them.

Much more reasonable than auto dealer's service (even with dealer's discount). Also more convenient. Travel to and from dealer's location would have been an extra $20.00 for gas and tolls.

Responded right away to schedule 2 appts. One for an oil change and another to replace my radiator. Very honest, friendly and help. Ben was great and very accommodating to my needs as I waited in the lobby.. Would recommend and return.

I've been having Mackert Automotive take care of my car for three years now and each time I bring it in for service I'm greeted by people who make me feel welcome, treat me with respect and demystify the and quot;car speakand quot; for me.
As a woman who doesn't know that much about cars it gives me such peace of mind knowing I can count on Howard and his team to look out for anything that needs attention and that if something does need to be done, it'll be done at a fair price.
I appreciate the email reminders when routine service is due. It's easy to make an appointment and even though I come from Tacoma to where they are in Gig Harbor, they're just 15 minutes from my house...coming across the bridge is worth it.
As a woman who doesn't know that much about cars it gives me such peace of mind knowing I can count on Howard and his team to look out for anything that needs attention and that if something does need to be done, it'll be done at a fair price.

This particular service took less than an hour. I also asked that they check out my front passenger side window; it squeaks when I lower it.
I know pretty much nothing about what goes on under the hood, or anywhere else on my car, other than where to put the gas, so it gives me a lot of peace of mind to know I can trust that if my car needs something, these people have the expertise to find it and will give me a fair price for taking care of it.
I was on my way when promised and my squeaky window was taken care of, no extra charge.

I received one estimate from a different automotive repair shop prior to going to Mackert Automotive for a second estimate. The estimate from Mackert, $1097.03, was over $400 more in comparison to the other estimate I received, although the repair that is needed is the same in both estimates. Mackert's explanation was, and quot;The effort to complete the work is just huge, absolutely huge. This is one of the largest jobs we get here. This will take at least half a day because it's that huge.and quot; After doing some research and speaking with other 'subject matter experts' in the field of automotive, Mackert Automotive's description of this being an absolutely huge job is laughable and extremely dishonest. They also quoted $100 + over the actual cost of the A/C compressor and other needed parts to complete the job. I would not recommend this company to anyone as they are not honest and over-inflate the work and parts needed to complete the job.

""Dishonest" is very strong language based on an estimate of repair. Many shops will only replace the compressor, but that part will not be warranted by the parts manufacturer unless you replace the orifice tube and receiver dryer (accumulator). We quoted here an A/C kit which included all those parts. We also have a full 2 year or 24,000 mile warranty on all our work, so we refuse to put substandard parts in any car. We are not the cheapest in town, never have tried to be. That said, 80% of our repairs come in under budget because we choose to quote the worst case scenario so we don't have to call back for additional money. As far as the statements of a "huge job"- that doesn't sound like anyone that works for me."

I don’t think they advertise and I used them through word of mouth. It is the old fashioned auto service when you could trust your mechanic. They will not overcharge you for services and they are very fair. They explain things very well so that even a woman who does not have lot of mechanical knowledge can understand what they are saying. They are just trust worthy. You can trust that they are not going to rip you off and fix your car. They are awesome in today’s world.

This service usually takes three hours but I hadn't arranged for a ride, so I could only stay 90 min. I asked them to just do whatever had to get done and they were able to accommodate me and get me on my way in 90 min.
