In June of 2011, we contracted with Andersen Construction, Inc. aka: Andersen Homes, to remodel our existing house into our dream home. The experience became a nightmare. Andersen Homes refused to honor the builder?s agreement, to use the correct materials and application procedures, to provide written change orders, to communicate in a professional and timely manner, to finish work and correct mistakes in a timely manner, and to oversee and take responsibility for their subcontractors? work.
As a result of Andersen Homes? negligence, delays, and unethical behavior, we have acquired the following:
1. expired energy savings rebates,
2. voided product manufacturers? warranties due to improper application of materials,
3. lesser quality construction materials than were stated in the architect?s plans,
4. additional rent and storage fees while waiting for Andersen Homes to finish our house ($21K),
5. two leaking cement decks built incorrectly and needing to be replaced ($65K),
6. legal fees to remove three lien claims caused by Andersen Homes? failure to pay their subcontractors ($7K),
7. numerous construction defects never corrected prior to or during the contractor?s one-year warranty ($12K),
8. incorrectly calculated monthly invoices with charges for Andersen Homes? personal items; charges for items already paid for; charges for other clients? work; charges for work that was never performed; charges not allowed by our contract; and charges for repair work caused by Andersen Homes? subcontractors? mistakes.
Mike Andersen, the owner of Andersen Homes, later admitted that he has only a high school education with no vocational or trade school training in construction or general contracting. Before becoming a general contractor, Mr. Andersen?s only construction experience was that of a laborer and a framer. He has been sued for construction defects and contract violations.

fantastic job - see above description, but I couldn't be happier! And the price was really reasonable for the work done!
