Home Building
I was brand new to home building and hired this person on the advice of a friend. He had his contractor license number on his truck, his advertising and business cards. Only months into the project did I happen upon the WA state website listing licensed contractors and his name was not listed. I fired him and after hiring a reputable firm found out that he had been overcharging me and not completing services for which he was paid. I ended up suing him and he promised in writing to pay up only to skip town and go into hiding.
