We bought a new home with a metal roof and was told they last forever. What we weren't told, is that they last forever when installed correctly. It was devastating to find out our roof needed to be replaced. We called around for different bids, but once we found out the cost to replace the metal, we wanted to be sure this was done by a company that eats , breathes, and sleeps metal roofs. Most of the companies we spoke with only did a few metal roofs a year. I finally found Metal Roof Specialities and knew after my first conversation with Hailey that this was the company we wanted to work with. She answered all of my questions, was so comforting, understood my frustrations and concerns. She introduced me to Wayne who came out and looked at our existing roof. One thing I appreciated so much, was they really wanted to see what they could do to fix our existing roof. Once Wayne saw it, and explained all that it would take to fix the existing, we all agreed it would be best to replace with a new one. Wayne got back to us with a bid and was very thorough in explaining it and the process. We went in to the office to pick our color and met Jerry the owner. They were all so great in the office. Really made this process a positive one. We ended up choosing the Old Zinc Gray. Wayne was out with his crew to install. Justin and Tony were great. They all worked so hard. Rain, hail, sunshine, they dealt with our typical Spring weather. They kept the site extremely clean. Kept in contact with me about what was going on. From start to finish, we could not be more happy with metal roof specialities and Wayne's company, preferred metal solutions. I highly recommend them for metal roofing needs.

I went over what I wanted done with Jerry and Wayne They listened to what I needed and made suggestions. We agreed on the project and costs. Their crew showed up on time, worked professionally and continually cleaned the area. My neighbors commented on how great they were. There were a number of unexpected items that came up and they handled them wonderfully. They are not cheap but well worth every penny they charged

They were nice and their salesperson was easy to work with; he was very knowledgeable. This salesperson used to own a company that made metal roofing so he was significantly more knowledgeable about metal roofs than any of the other companies we talked to. They were pretty great all around and their price was competitive.

I have been watching it rain and see absolutely no drips, runs or issues!  The solar tubes were installed with expert care. 
One of my solor tubes had an issue, so instead of installing it, they informed me and gave me the option to get a new one.
Wayne and crew were great.  They were flexible to my schedule, and were easy to work with.

It was a great experience.  We did a ton of research prior to purchase and found the prices were staggering in a lot of cases.  Metal Roof Specialties came in, bid very competitively and did a great job.  Whenever I had a question the salesman (Joe) was readily available to answer any questions and/or concerns I had.  Also, the one time Joe was out of contact, I was directed to Jerry (the owner!!!) they made me feel as if my room was as important to them  as it was to us.

It was a very personable experience. The owner came to help me. They were on time. They did what they said they were going to do. They listened to my questions and concerns. They were very professional.

It turned out very well. We had very good luck with them. There happened to be very heavy rains during their installation. There was a leak that developed during construction and they repaired it. They were always very responsive and they took care of everything. The final work was very impressive. Everyone we dealt with we really enjoyed and they were professionals.

They did an okay job. The metal roof is very mossy and dirty right now. We are either going to have to replace it or get it cleaned.

They were great! From the service end of things, it was great! They were not cheap, as metal roofs are not. They were unable to to do our gutters and we had to sub the work out. They finished the work in one week. Four days later there was a very large snow storm. If we still had our old roof, we would have been in an emergency situation. We  are very appreciative that they weer able to move quickly to finish the intall before the weather turned bad. The woman who provided our estimate was very great! I am very happy with the end result.

It has been great! We chose this company because we knew how reliable and how well their workmanship is. The installers were very courteous, professional, and polite. They just couldn't be nicer. I would highly recommend their services to anyone on Angie's List.

The owner, Jerry, came to give an estimate.  He was very friendly and not pushy.  The workers were all very friendly and professional and detail oriented.  They found more problems with my roof after starting and I added a third solar tube mid way through.  Yet, I ended up owing a little less than the initial bid!  My experience with most construction people have not been very good, but these guys were exceptional!  I can't think of any issues with my experience.  It was totally positive.  Even the financing was a breeze.

After examining the type of roofing we could install on our low slope roof with built in gutters we decided that metal would be the best option. When spending such large sums of money, we are quite thorough with both the product we plan to buy and how we go about having it installed. During this process, we received 7 quotes to replace our roof. It became quite clear to us that most roofing companies "also install metal roofs." None of the other companies we talked to had remotely the level of experience that Jerry and his crew have with metal. Since Jerry was so capable and prompt with his responses to our questions (and we had a lot) we felt very comfortable with our purchase. To summarize our experience:
Decision process: Jerry is very good to work with, he is not only a very nice guy but he is also prompt with his responses. We never felt any pressure at all, unlike some of the other companies. Additionally, Jerry worked with us to find a product that fit our requirements and our price range. 
Installation: Since we had built in gutters, Jerry and his crew removed these and replaced them with more modern Fascia at a very reasonable price. During the installation, Jerry's crew was very prompt and polite. They were always very willing to explain what they were doing with the roof to me with regards to the seams and the flashing. 
Completion: The roof I have never looked so fabulous, you will not be disappointed if you put a metal roof on your house. The best part is I will never think about my roof other than to think, "wow that looks great!" Which is much better than what I used to think about my torch-down roof.

I had a torch down roof, which was leaking in a couple of areas and showing signs of deterioration in several other spots.  The gutters on my roof were interior gutters, which would clog with pine needles very easily.  I was constantly going up on the roof and cleaning them out so water would not pool and sit on my roof. Every winter I was constantly worried water might be getting in to my house or rotting the wood on the roof.  I considered either repairing the known issues, or having an new torch down roof installed (I received estimates for both), but decided that a metal roof would provide a solid, strong, leak resistant solution that would last for as long as I owned the house.

I called Metal Roof Specialties (MRS) and had them come out for an estimate.  Jerry Iselin showed up as scheduled and walked me through what a metal roof would provide and what it would look like on my home.  Jerry said it would be fine to just install the metal roof over my existing torch down roof, no need to tear off the old roof.

After receiving the estimate, Jerry made a second trip out to our house at our request to answer a few more questions.  He also brought a large sample material so we could see what the material looked like. He answered all the questions we had.  We decided to go with MRS, and this time Wayne came out to do a detailed measurement of our house in order to place the order for the materials.  Wayne was very courteous and helpful (answered a few more questions for us). 

After this process was done, it was about 3 weeks before work began.  We were in constant communications with Jerry regarding the starting time of the project.  There were a couple other jobs going on with MRS at the time, and our job was dependent on the timing of those jobs.  Once a date was set we were notified.  The installers showed up on time and began the work.  It took 7 business days to finish the roofing job.  The contractors were courteous and professional and I was very satisfied with their work.  A couple of days during the project, Wayne showed up to review progress and help out, and towards the end of the job, Jerry showed up as well.  They seemed to really take the time to do the job right, and I think it shows with the final product.  Once they were done they cleaned up all their materials and scrap, and even swept our garage and driveway.

Once the job was complete Jerry scheduled a time to meet with me and go over the finished product.  We took a few minutes up on the roof talking about the various installation techniques and what maintenance would be required to keep the roof functioning well (items such as cleaning with a pressure washer and keeping debris out of the venting areas on the ridge caps).  There was one items that was missed on the install, which was a roof anchor that was to be installed so I could use a safety harness when I'm up on the roof cleaning it.  Jerry assured me this item would be installed and apologized for the oversight.  That discussion was just a couple of days ago, and as I write this review the work has not been done yet, but I have every confidence that they will come out and install the anchor.

This was a wonderful experience.  Dealing with contractors has not been a very positive experience for me based on past experiences.  Working with MRS has been great and has given me confidence there are good contractors out there willing do to a good job on your home.  Only time will tell if my roof holds up to the expectations, but right now I feel very good about the product I purchased.

From Angies List we found out about Metal Roof Specialties and called and talked with the owner, Jerry Iselin and he promptly came out to our residence and checked out the scope of the project.   Everything from the venting of the house etc.  We have two chimneys in this house.    We scheduled the work and the crew was on time and promptly removed the existing roof on a very steep angle and replaced with a new steel roof.   This was performed on time and exactly what we were quoted.

They were professional from start to finish. They gave me an estimate with some education not a high pressure sale pitch. They did the work when they said they would and were very neat when they did it. It looks great! I'm very pleased with this company

The installation went very well.   We liked the owner from the start.  Throughout the contracting and work, we always received prompt and thoughtful answers to our questions.    When he estimated the job, he paid attention to the odd details of the roof and was open to suggestion about approaches to ventilation.  This proved to be very constructive both technically and esthetically -- and actually saved us money.   He was very helpful in helping us select the color and material we wanted and was even able to get us a deal on a thicker guage metal.  In contrast to another bidding roofing company, MSR gave us bids with and without removal of the existing roof.    The other company did not know that it was possible to put the metal atop the existing roof -- and correspondingly submitted a much higher bid. The three men who did the actual installation were efficient, thorough and neat.    They were responsive and responsible; they  cleaned up at the end of each day.    They addressed any concerns we raised completely, and in one instance took the time to fix a skylight problem which existed prior to their work.   The final product is dramatic and beautiful.  We happily recommend Metal Roof Specialties.

It went great. They kept to their quote, they kept to their schedule. The workers were very professional. We're very happy with the roof. We also had them include a skylight in the roof.

The estimate process went really well. They were not pushy and were very pleasant.

I had an old gravel and tar roof that was due for replacement. I had cheaper quotes for other materials from other roof companies but decided to go with metal because of its beauty and durability.  Metal roof specialties gave me a competitive bid. The owner Jerry was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all my questions. Jerry sent me addresses of houses that he had worked on. My wife and I checked out their workmanship and the appearance of different roof color on these houses. After we had picked out the color, Jerry was able to schedule the work in 3 weeks. When the work started, there were minimal disruptions. They parked the trailer on the driveway to remove the old roof materials. They had a honey bucket on site. There were 2-3 workers on the project for the next 5 days from start to finish. They completed the work professionally and on time. There was a minor hiccup when a city permit officer showed up unexpectedly. But it was resolved quickly by the company. Additional costs I incurred included plywood that they replaced. Jerry also gave me a reference to a gutter installer to install new gutters.  He also suggested improvement to the soffitt venting. The final roof appearance was great and there were no surprises. I strongly recommend Metal roof specialties for metal roof work. 

Update 2013 - I recently sold the property. During inspection, the inspector pointed out a couple minor issues. Metal Roof Specialties immediately came out to inspect and resolve the issues. I wholeheartedly recommend the company to anyone who is considering a metal roof.
