Upland Construction built the house that we purchased six years ago. Phil and his crew won my complete trust. They worked hard, they were polite, and they were skilled. Phil has much experience and intelligence, and we immediately felt that he would do a tremendous job, without skimping. He listened to us carefully and was very focused on getting the details right.

Everything was done very professional and he stayed true to his quote...he and his crew went above and beyond fixing my house, and when I needed a quick emergency fix, he responded very quickly even though his schedule was very full....

Everything went well and Phil was very easy to work with. They redesigned the deck a bit to give it a more open look below. Phil had some ideas giving it a little more modern look that we liked. It was quite a challenge to take out 18 tons of cement but the crew handled it very well. The only real delay on the project was the sub-contractor for the railing and gutter system that put us back about two weeks. Phil's team could be counted on to be on-site when they said they would. The quality of work from Phil's group and sub-contractors was very good. Attached are some photos to get a feel for the work.

We completed gutted our bathroom and updated everything. Upland did all the demo work and then installed a new shower, tub, toilet, vanity and changed a swing door to a pocket door. Most of the work was satisfactory but they ran into an issue while grouting the shower. They had advised us to use a certain type of grout but they hadn't used it before so they ran into some issues there. Then had to call them back a couple of times to remove grout residue from the tiles which was never completely removed. Also, within the first year we had to re-caulk the tub.

Upland does a fabulous job for us, and has for a number of years with several different projects.  Phil Perkins is professional, responsive and gets the job done.  He managed many different subcontractors, and we have been happy with all of them.  He stays on top of the job and coordinates everything, makes it easy and actually pleasant to do remodeling. 
Phil has always been responsive through email, text, and phone.  He's pleasant, competent, and runs a really solid company. He's local and knows everyone, so he's able to get really good deals and also use local businesses and craftsmen whenever possible. 
He's done a terrific job for us, every single time.

Phil said he would email us in a couple of days with the pricing for the projects.  I never received an email.  I sent a message to him and no response.  I asked him in my message if he had changed his mind on doing the work and if he would let us know so we could find another contractor.  No response at all.  I have waited to write this review thinking that something may have happened and he was not able to respond.  At this point he is just ignoring us.  I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but even if an emergency came up, there should be someone at the business that can do follow-up and answer emails.   I have a business and if I treated a potential customer in this manner I would not have a business.  I think because of the demand for contractors in our area and the lack of skilled people to do the work, these businesses do not care how they treat customers or potential customers because there is always another one just around the corner.  Very disappointed.  It looks like we will have to try and do the work ourselves next spring...Sharon P.

.  Upland is the very best, as good as it gets.  Phil Perkins is a great contractor and a fabulous person to work with.  He was professional, prompt, and he delivered on everything he said he would. 
He was also very practical and frugal, he saved us money on several different parts of the project where a less honest contractor could easily have driven the cost up--he didn't, he gave us great advice on choices to save money while maintaining high quality.  For example, we needed to replace a set of very large windows.  He arranged to replace the glass only, since the frames were still fine, and saved us a ton. 
I highly recommend Upland--terrific company.

Phil and his crew were very professional, easy to work with and met their start/end dates. They helped inform us of things we hadn't considered, while not being pushy for a change to the original scope and cost. I would certainly use them again, and I would have no problem referring family and friends to Upland.

Work was done in a timely fashion once we established a schedule. Good workmanship. It might have been useful for us to consult a designer, but we wanted to design as we went, which was sometimes awkward for workers. All in all, we are very pleased. We remained very active and involved in all aspects of project. In addition, we kept up consistent communications which was essential to getting the bathroom we wanted.

Phil and his team are fantastic! They built a beautiful front porch at my Mother?s house. They started and finished the project on schedule and they were very good about communicating with us during the entire process. We had a couple small changes and they were very patient and accommodating. They are very reasonably priced, professional, and detail oriented.

on time and very easy to work with.  returns calls promptly.  Provided suggestions for changes that were structurally and economically helpful.  His crew is also excellent and Phil stays on top of things while work is underway.

Phil worked online with us in the designing process. Any changes we wanted he adjusted for. His crew were very nice and professional. We really enjoyed how quickly the building was put up. We were consulted along the way, and any adjustments we wanted were made. Phil helped out with other problems we had around our property. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. I will definitely recommend him to others. I will also be asking him to come back and build other projects for us.

We found Phil and his staff from upland developers to be highly professional, knowledgable and extremely competent. All the trades used during the project were courteous and prompt. We experienced no delays during the course of construction and are very pleased with the quality of workmanship in our beach house.
All of Phil's suggestions for upgrades were modest in cost and appropriate for the style of the house. These additions added some
great curb appeal and architectural interest. In particular we were pleased with the front porch, cedar decking, railings and arbour over the garage.  They have added a real "west coast" feel.
If we had to choose the one quality we appreciated the most it would have to be Phil's accessibility. We have never done a project on
such a large scale before and consequently, we had to rely on his expertise. So we had a lot of questions and a lot of decisions to make. Phil was available when ever we needed to discuss something and on the few occasions when he was not, he always returned our calls promptly. We felt that he always listened to and understood our requests and helped us refine them so that they worked into
our budget without compromising his workmanship. He  updated us daily and reviewed all decisions and changes to make sure no mistakes were made. As a result we felt confident that the project was moving forward and would be completed as per the quotation
and design. 
Without question or hesitation, we would highly recommend Phil Perkins and his company Upland Developers Inc.for any building project.

From the first meeting with Phil and receiving his estimate, to the final staining of the deck, we were please with it all.
