Pioneer Construction Company

Our solarium had been leaking periodically for several years and the joists that supported it in the ceiling of the workroom beneath it had rotted out dangerously. We had decided to replace the rotted joists. Bill Faust, of Pioneer Construction, inspected the situation carefully and thoroughly, taking over two hours to do so. He concluded that the joists could not be replaced without damaging the solarium beyond repair and suggested that the entire solarium/work room should be replaced. He submitted a reasonable bid after spending time consulting with us to determine exactly what we wanted and offering a number of helpful and thoughtful suggestions. Work began exactly as proposed in early October, just ahead of the rainy season in the Pacific Northwest. Bill estimated 2.5 to 3 months for the job. Demolition went quickly, and framing and enclosing of the space was accomplished before serious rains began. Throughout the job Bill and his crew arrived promptly each day as promised. It was obvious that they were highly skilled, thoughtful and imaginative craftsmen. It was a pleasure to have Bill and his crew around. Bill kept us "in the loop" consistently, explaining what he was doing and why. I was particularly impressed by the subcontractors (electrical, insulation, flooring, painting, wallboard) that he chose. Like Bill and his crew, they showed up when expected, were thoughtful and highly skilled, and completed their work efficiently. The job was completed in late December. It would have been completed a couple of weeks earlier, but his painter suffered a serious accident just before completing the painting - the very last step in the project. We very much liked the painter and agreed that we would prefer a slight delay in completion to having another painter complete the work. To say that we are satisfied with Pioneer Construction would be a serious understatement. The new solarium/work room is wonderful and we are very happy with it. I would hire Pioneer Construction again in an instant. Not only did we get a dry, beautiful, safe new solarium, we also got a list of electricians, painters, etc who can be trusted for future use.
