I get synthetic oil so it was a little less than $200. They keep a good database on all the cars so they know when the oil changes are coming out. They are really good at handling the billing and they are really good about setting up the prices. The work is good, and this is the big thing. They are a triple A preferred provider. When they say they have done something, it will be done. They say they can do something because they can do it.

They do everything. They did a lot of work for us. They do a good job and communicate really well about what needs to be done and what does not need to be done. They give us options and we never feel pressured. They do quick work and we do no feel like we are being taken advantage of. Their prices are fair.

I had taken my truck here several years ago, just for a quote and a battery. Overall it was an good experience. My boss had also used them for a truck repair and had good things to say about them. So, when my Isuzu Trooper started sputtering a little at 45 mph and lost the ability to get up and go, I went straight to North Shore.
I told them my issue with the vehicle, gave them the keys, and a day or so later I received a phone call with a quote. It was higher than I was hoping for, but it wasn't outrageous. I told them there was no rush to get it done. Art called me a few times to give me status updates. It did take several weeks but I really emphasized to them that I was in no rush when I dropped it off.
The in-shop experience was straight forward, quick, and easy. The bill was itemized by parts, labor, etc. After seeing what was done and the overall breakdown the price seemed fair. I paid, we shook hands, I got into my Trooper and it runs great. I'd rather pay more for quality work that will last than cheap work done repeatedly. I trust this place, and working with them is hassle free. The Trooper has a bit of giddy up again, no longer sputters, and hopefully is getting better gas mileage. I will definitely use them again if I have any problems with my vehicles.

10/31/13 - I received a call from Mr. Rood that he received the inner fender splash shield part for my 4x4 and to stop by for his shop to replace it at my convenience. I just had it replaced today, nearly 3 months later. However, Mr. Rood was very polite and his shop did a good job installing it. This was all done at no charge. I am upgrading service from and quot;Dand quot; to and quot;Cand quot; because they did the right thing in replacing the inner fender splash at no charge.
08/10/13 - My son in law said I should give NorthShore a try. I looked them up on Angie's List and saw that they had a and quot;Aand quot; rating. So, I had my truck towed to NorthShore because I lost oil pressure and I didn't want to drive it. I spoke with Art Rood, the customer service representative, and I explained in detail what had happened; the oil gauge dropped, I put oil in the truck but that didn't move the gauge back up and then I heard a noise and stopped the truck and had it towed home. I am the original owner of this 4x4 truck and I have babied it for 29 years now. It's in great condition and was running great before the oil pump went out.
The shop replaced the switch without first testing the oil pressure. We saw the mechanic sitting on my engine while replacing the switch. I asked him if there was another way to replace the switch other than sitting on the trucks engine - he said no, so I asked him to be very careful not to damage anything.
After replacing the switch they determined that the switch was not the problem. They did not charge me for the switch. The oil pressure was THEN tested and the oil pump replaced. They did not test drive the truck AFTER replacing the oil pump and called me to say it was fixed and to come pick it up. We picked up my truck and the oil pressure gauge was back to normal during idle. After I drove my truck about 2 blocks the oil pressure took a dive and I heard a noise (similar to the noise I heard when the oil pump went out). I opened the hood and saw that my intake hose had been disconnected, my inner fender splash shield had been broken (everything was intact prior to taking it to NorthShore Auto) and they filled my truck with too much oil.
I brought the truck back to NorthShore and explained the oil gauge dip, the noise, the intake hose that had been disconnected, there was too much oil and the inner fender splash shield on the driver's side had been broken (probably from the mechanic stepping on it while he was ON my engine). Mr. Rood became very course and said that he didn't think we would have a good working relationship! He said the inner fender splash shield was and quot;junkand quot; and began ripping the remainder out. I asked him to stop but he continued until he ripped it all out. I showed him the passengers side of the inner fender which was intact and it looked great and it was not and quot;junkand quot;. I explained that both the driver's and passenger's side was intact as well as the intake hose was connected when the tow truck came to pick it up and towed it to his shop.
During this visit, a mechanic looked under the hood and found that the oil neck was also off, which he put back on. The oil neck has never been off and was on when the tow truck towed my 4x4 to the shop. He went on to test drive it. He was not sure what the noise indicated (maybe a spark knock or timing chain) but Mr. Rood said it would cost $102.00 to determine what the noise was. This noise should have been determined when my 4x4 was in their shop because noises accompanying a dip in oil pressure pretty much go hand in hand - and I discussed this noise with Mr. Rood BEFORE they started work on it. Also, the mechanic determined that the oil gauge moves up and down because the switch had been replaced (even though it had never done that before except when the oil pump failed and it dropped). I would have appreciated Mr. Rood letting me know that at the time I picked my 4x4 up; if, of course, that is truly the reason.
Mr. Rood said he would replace the inner fender splash shield and attempted to find the part on his computer while I was in the reception area. But it has been over a week and I have not heard back from him regarding it. Also, I let Mr. Rood know that I found him on Angie's List and that the shop had great recommendations. He was dismissive about it and seemed not to care.
I am a woman over 60 years old and I hope that is not the reason why my service was so bad.

They did the service for free but their pricing there is reasonable. The technicians there can fix the problems and they are very honest. If you go to them you could expect excellent service. They have easy pick up and drop off. They are accommodating for work schedules. They keep you updated on your car so that you know exactly what to expect. If the problem that I have does not need any repairs and it is just an adjustment, they usually just do it for me free because they have serviced my car for a long time already.

The price is very reasonable. They make sure they know what I want to be done. I just bought the tires from somewhere else and he sold me the most expensive tires he had, so that's not always the right solution. One needs the tire that they need. Northshore always does it. They are not always the lowest bidder all the time; but they never had sold me anything that I don't want, so I am a big fan. They are always on time and under budget.

I had an undisclosed oil leak that was staining my driveway. They found a loose oil filter ( installed by Grease Monkey ) and tightened it and cleaned up the oily mess so no further drips. One year later the driveway is still spotless.

They saw me right away. They checked out the cause of the light and determined it to be a faulty seal on my gas cap. I'd already had this fixed a month prior, so they reset the light and sent me on my way. No charge. They were very courteous and straightforward. I initially had walked home, so they picked me up at my house and brought me back to my car.
Great service, great guys!

We have a 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid with over 100,000 miles on it. The engine light came on while we were on Vashon Island and according to the owner's manual we should get it serviced immediately. Northshore Automotive is really close to our home. We'd not used it before - usually going to the dealership instead, but decided since it's past its warranty, we'd give them a try. Art, the service manager was very friendly and told us we could bring it on in that evening and they'd be able to look at it in the morning. It turned out to be the oxygen sensors that needed replacing and they'd be able to get them in the next day. I asked if I could come get it and bring it back and he told me that could hurt the catalytic converter which is an even bigger experience, so I left it behind. I don't know how this price compares to anyplace else. We were so pleased, that we ended up returning the very next week for our other car!

Nice shop, nice people. The repair seemed expensive, but perhaps you get what you pay for.

Saturday morning: car began to overheat upon arrival at home from errands. Steam was coming from the water pump of my 1999 Ford Windstar minivan. This was a BIG problem because my stepdaughter's car had just failed, was in another shop, and she needed the van on Monday to go to work as a pizza delivery person. I immediately jumped in the car and drove to Northshore Automotive near my home. Art Rood greeted me by name and asked what the problem was. I told him I wouldn't normally ask, but this was a real emergency for us and I needed the van done that day. And...I had to leave within the hour to take the family to the zoo for my grandson's birthday trip on his weekend of visitation using our truck. I really needed the van done today if at all possible. Could they do it? Yes...Art assured me they could do this. He also noted that it was time for my older car to have a tranny servicing. And yes...it could all be done and ready by the end of the day. He gave me a ballpark figure...I ok'd/authorized it (and a bit more just in case) and asked if they could leave the car outside for me to pick up and just charge my credit card and/or call my cell if there were any issues. Yes, he could and they did. Car was ready when we got back in the late afternoon and available as promised. That's why I try to take my car to Northshore. Because Art and Mike (the owner) believe in service and I believe in paying a fair price for exceptional service and care. Or...they treat me like I'd want to be treated. That's why they are always busy...but not too busy to help someone.

THIS COMPANY DOES QUALITY WORK ON TIME IN A CLEAN, NEAT ENVIRONMENT. THEY CALL IF ADDITIONAL PROBLEMS ARE FOUND BEFORE THEY PROCEED. THEY ARE FRIENDLY, FAIR, AND QUITE COMPETENT. THEY TOLD ME OF TWO AREAS WHICH WILL NEED WORK IN THE NEAR FUTURE, BUT NOT RIGHT NOW. I HAVE RECOMMENDED THIS FIRM TO A FRIEND WHO HAD A VERY POSITIVE EXPERIENCE ALSO. I RECOMMEND THIS FIRM TO ANYONE NEEDING QUALITY AUTOMOTIVE WORK.
