LOWE'S

We ordered them in November 2011, after they came out 3 times to measure and asking us to modify the windows in order to install them properly...which we did.  They told us the shutters would take 8-10 weeks.  January 2012, a week before the shutters should have been delivered, they called us saying that the paint we had requested for the den shutters was not possible for them to use (a glossy enamel black, Valspar, standard in-stock item at Lowes). The question had come up originally when we ordered as to whether this paint was an option and we were reassured they COULD use it.  Also, by the way, they said, the order had not yet been started.  It would be another 8-10 weeks before installation. Not wanting to start over with another company (and, also we had ALREADY PAID THEM IN FULL, which was part of the deal), we forged ahead. Our contractor said that he would personally repaint the shutters in the color we originally wanted (the same color of the window trim in our den) so all would match. Day of delivery, nearly 5 MONTHS after the initial order, 2 of the 15 shutters were full shutters instead of the cafe shutters we had ordered. The installer took a good 15 minutes of trying to tell me that CAFE length wasn't what I had ordered. I should know, right? Something about the customer always being right if I remember from my SERVICE INDUSTRY DAYS. In addition, he added that he and the other 2 able-bodied men were not authorized to move any furniture away from the windows in order to do the work. I made a comment abut being an able-bodied woman not worried about 3 big guys watching ME labor over the moving of furniture. They succombed and moved the furniture...but REALLY?????
NEVER WILL I SET FOOT IN A LOWES AGAIN. Will use the local hardware store.
I understand the shutter contractor is SPRINGS, also contracted by GRABBER.
BEWARE. BEWARE. BEWARE.  And how stupid we were to PAY IN FULL ahead of time....

The organization and layout of the store was good. The price for the tools were reasonable.

THIS WAS PROBABLY THE WORST EXPERIENCE IN ORDERING SOMETHING I HAVE EVER HAD. THEY QUOTED ONE PRICE THEN CHANGED WHEN ACTUALLY ORDERING. THEY LOST THE ORDER SEVERAL TIMES WHEN WE FOLLOWED UP TO FIND OUT WHEN THEY WOULD BE INSTALLED. I HAD THREE MANAGERS ASSISTING ME AT DIFFERENT TIMES ALL WHO TOLD ME A DIFFERENT STORY. THE ORGANIZATION AT THE WINDOW & DOOR ORDERING DESK WAS VERY POOR. AFTER OVER 2 MONTHS WE FINALLY RECEIVED THE DOORS & THEY WERE INSTALLED. THE ACTUAL INSTALLED DID A GOOD JOB. THE ORDERING EXPERIENCE WAS TERRIBLE.

THE CLERK WAS NEW AND VERY HELPFUL IN PICKING OUT THE RIGHT KIND FOR MY HOME. HE ALSO MADE SURE THAT IT WAS IN MY PRICE RANGE. THE INSTALLATION WAS VERY GOOD. ON TIME.

OUR OVERALL EXPERIENCE WITH LOWES AND THE CEILING FAN DEPARTMENT WENT VERY WELL, THE GUY WAS VERY HELPFUL IN PICKING THE CORRECT FAN FOR OUR ROOM, AND WHEN IT WAS INSTALLED IT LOOKED PERFECT.

THE SALES REPRESENTATIVE AT THE STORE WAS VERY HELPFUL IN HELPING US PICK OUT THE CARPET THAT WAS RIGHT FOR US. THE PERSON WHO DID THE MEASURING WAS IN AND OUT IN 5 MINUTES. HE SEEMED TO BE IN A RUSH. THE INSTALLERS SHOWED UP 2 HOURS LATE AND THEY WE UNPLEASANT. THEY DIDN'T HAVE ALL THEIR SUPPLIES TO DO A PROPER INSTALLATION. IT TOOK OVER 4 HOURS TO COMPLETE THE JOB IN A 200 SQ FT ROOM.
