From the initial walk through to get an estimate to the completion of the project I always felt that the company was very professional and knowledgeable about building construction. We did not know exactly how to resurface the walkways and stairs and they recommended a great solution that was also inexpensive. I am completely happy with the outcome. The walkways and freshly painted rails look great and the walkways have excellent grip. On the first day of the project the crew showed up on time and immediately started working hard. They did every task that was outlined in the estimate and completed the whole job much faster than I imagined.

They were very friendly and easy to get along with. They were willing to work with me keeping the budget low, which is really important. They were able to do what we wanted so it really helped us out. I will use them again in the future.

It started on time, and went well, took about 4 days, which was within estimate, and they covered things up and cleaned up every day. Finished on time and within estimated cost, no problems to report. Seem like good guys and I'd use them again.

He replaced the door. In the process of replacing the door a crack was created on the inside and outside of the wall. He didn't take the window covering when replacing the door and I now have to replace the window covering as well. I had to call him back to fix the cracks in the wall, I am not sure how he didn't notice them before he left. He came back and fixed the cracks, they are better but not perfect. I would have thought as a contractor that he would have known better than to do the work in the manner. He had originally scheduled an appointment for an estimate and he never showed up. I called to see what the problem was and he told me that something came up but he had never called to let me know he wouldn't be coming. He provided the best price on the estimate. However, the quality of work was not what expected and I would not hire him again. I understand that things can go wrong during a project but he should have brought the issues to my attention, instead he just left and waited for me to find the mistakes.

"In review of this project, I did inform the clients that I would be unable to show to my original appointment. Upon arrival of the project, all the furniture and window coverings were still very close to the window and the client said it did not need to be moved since we were taking out an exterior siding glass door. The room in which the door was being taken out of was very dark and we put plastic up to ensure that the clients stuff did not get dirty or dusty. A day after the job was done i received a phone call that there was a crack in the wall. I immediately went back to the job to investigate. What I found was that there was a crack about 6 inches and it was covered by a mirror in the bedroom. It was very hard to see since the crack was about 4 feet away from the door we installed. I fixed the crack and haven't herd anything since."

Flawlessly. We have no problems or negative things to report. We are planning to use them again. The estimate was delivered on time. The repairs were performed on time. There were no interruptions for them to work a second job. I'm not sure they were the lowest bid, but they were good enough that we will probably not even bid out the next job we need done.

Amazing. Fantastic. Dream come true. There are not enough adjectives to describe the work of the Hooker team. After seeing the reputation on AngiesList.com I gave them a call. We are tickled pink with their work and could not be happier. In fact, I am worried that if I give this review they might get too busy to come back and work for us again. In all seriousness these guys are uber professional, FAST but they don't compromise quality and work very hard. They show up early and stay late even after an exhausting day. Ken is very intuitive and knew exactly where I was going with my design and gave me some great ideas for design choice. The quality and intelligent work you get is well worth the affordability of their bids. Craftsmanship is top notch. And they couldn't be nicer people! These guys know there stuff, 'nuff said.

They did an excellent job, but were very expensive. They do not give a senior discount and I didn't like that. They did good work.

I had called Ken in early June he asked that I email him about what I would like done which I did. A few days later he wrote to tell me he could not do the work for his daughter just had twins and one of the babies was not doing well and they had to fly her to Children's hospital. I wrote back to him and his family sending my blessings to them and told him I did not need to work done until August. He said he would get back to me in late June or early July. In early July he wrote back telling me they had lost one of the twins and asked if I still wanted them to do the work and I said yes. He said it was time for him to get back to work now. We spoke on the phone that week and he came out early the next week to survey the project. I was given my part of the job which was picking out cabinets, a sink, and other items, he told me it cost less if I do this and that they will pick it all up for me. Ken, his sons and nephews did all the rest of the purchasing for me, plumbing, electrical, etc. They started the project and finished in 3 days with one half day to clean up and put the finishing touches on everything. Of course with any project there are always little things to clean up and or change and Ken was nothing but wonderful about it all and made sure I was a happy camper. They were all very nice, polite, fun and even made me feel like part of the family. I have already hired him to do more work for me on my roof this year, plus doing some weatherization to help me get ready for this winter and next summer to paint my home.
I did not know I could update this report and have always wanted to come back and add a disappointment with Ken. The last item I had him do was to put a coating on my roof since I have a flat roof house and this coating was for protection. Found out later it was not the best product and it only lasted less than a year and I paid $800.00 for that. I also asked for them to replace one of my scuppers. So I was paying in 3 installments well I held back the last one. His wife called me to ask why I had not paid and I told her and she said she would make sure he came out and finished the job. I never heard from them again... I was quite upset about that after I gave them such a great review... I also asked them to put in a peep in front door which was part of what I had already paid that did not happen either. And never got them to do the weatherization that I asked for... The job they did was good but it was not completed...

Have worked with ken a number of times as a handyman. Needed a new roof on a building. Had several bids from other company's. His was in the middle but let him do it. First class no problems.

It went very well. Ken arrived our rental house on time for a walk through. He was very helpful, suggesting things that we could do ourselves, should we choose, explaining how he'd do it. He drew up an estimate and emailed it to us. Work was scheduled to begin first of next week. We had a slight delay, due to an early addition to the Kand H Developments family. Knowing we had a time constraint Ken came out with his crew on Thursday of that week and knocked everything out in one day.

One of our other renters let them in to do the work. While they were working, the house was open for potential new renters and at least one of them would stop and talk to them and show them where the applications were kept. They were quick and efficient and cleaned up after themselves. I called Ken at one point and asked him to remove the vanity before he put the flooring down as one potential renter wanted a pedestal sink. He removed it for me at no extra cost and was so nice about it. I went to the house while they were working and they were so polite and nice. I will hire them again when I'm ready for more work.

Start to finish was a great experience. Ken also gave me a discount off the original quote if I wanted to do some of the painting myself. In addition, he gave me some additional pointers for fixing some other issues. Great job and great people!

I have used this company two times. I like that I don't have to supervise him and he has common sense. He is methodical in his work and pays attention to detail to what I need. He had great ideas and was able to communicate what would be helpful to me. I feel that he and his crew are trustworthy.

Thank you Angie's List, for without your resource I would have not found this contractor. I was so pleased with there work that I have asked them to do the next round of installing tiles. They happily agreed. I like the fact they were always on time, showed up when they said they be there and the work was wonderful.

Very satisfied with service and would use Kand H again. Ken was professional, knowledgeable, worked hard, and was especially helpful in suggesting what work to do and what not to do, as his wife is a real estate agent.

We had to reschedule a couple of times because of family problems, but once Ken and John were there they did a great job. This is an investment property in south King County that I will be listing for sale in the next few days and they were able complete the job in only an hour or so. I live in north King County, so local sources for this type of job were VERY limited to me. I was very glad to find someone as helpful and time-conscious as they were, with a quality end result. I will definitely hire them again on my next property.

Gave approximate time for appointment, calls prior to arrival, and is quick to determine problem in leak on washer. Job done in seconds. We discussed how best to hang shadowbox, he had the equipment/hook in his truck and did the job quickly again. Very genial and effective. Would use again and recommend.
