Description of Work: replaced my roof

Description of Work: They didn't seem to want the business. Just wanted to send messages. Could not get a bid from them.

Description of Work: 1) Removed perimeter metal flashing, removed built-up scupper dams, and stripped off existing torch down roofing. Installed premium underlayment same day. Also (not expected), cleaned off rear back patio cover. All demolition debris was hauled away and all areas around work site were cleaned of nails and scarf using magnetic roller and area hand gleaned. |2) Replaced fascia and structural 2"x 6" framing in corner areas where wood rot was discovered. Also replaced equivalent of 5 sheets of 4'x8'x1/2" plywood sheathing overall. Two side patio covers were upgraded for installation of metal roofing. |3) Installed sealed seam membrane on rear low-pitch addition. Installed standing seam metal roofing on remainder of house including 2 side patio covers. Replacement fascia was primer painted. Installed all new roof vent covers (except existing new gas heat vent) including a low profile vent for kitchen fume hood. Roof vent pipes and covers were painted to match color of metal roofing. Installed all new seamless aluminum gutters and downspouts. |4) Pete of Horizon Roofing was very pleasant to deal with. Horizon's bid (best warranty) was 10% higher than the our low (without gutters) bid and 35% lower than the high bid. Pete's willingness to work with us on trying to meet our special requests was absolutely stellar. To be honest, our roof design was not the easiest to work with and Horizon Roofing proved they were up to the challenge. During our final walk around we had one additional request that wasn't in the contract. Pete agreed to the extra labor without conflict, just old fashioned business practice that one seldom encounters these days. As we told Pete, his Horizon Roofing crew was the most professional we've had on our property! Cleanup was 100% with no debris whatsoever left on our property. Our new roof and gutters adds beauty and value to our home. Plus, following one solid day of rain, performs as well as it looks. We would gladly call on Horizon Roofing for any future roofing needs and highly recommend Horizon Roofing for anyone's roofing needs. Description of Work: They replaced our old roof. I was first impressed when Pete, the owner who came our the morning of July 4 to check out our roof. I liked the fact that he sat down at our table and drank coffee with me and helped me understand how his company worked. They not only came in with a lower bid than the 4 other companies that bid on the job but their contract spelled out exactly what they would do. | |After accepting our bid they told us the week that they would begin the job. They showed up when they said they would. They did everything thing they said that they would do and a bit more. Their clean up each day was excellent. They were patient in answering the questions that I had at times.

Description of Work: Besides the fact that they beat everyone on price, Horizon Roofing did an excellent job. Clear communication from the start. The crew (especially head guy Pete) was very professional -- friendly, on time, and on point. Clean-up was also excellent and prompt follow-thru on any lingering questions or concerns. Horizon is a great company and I would recommend them to anyone needing a new roof.
