First impressions truly do forge in-home sales. I contacted this company several times via Facebook and even off of their website to no avail. The website for this company offers little to no information on flooring materials. They casually throw a sale sign up for the type of flooring I am interested in but do nothing in the way of educating the consumer on said product. I was finally able to get a call answered. An appointment for an in-home estimate was scheduled. I was told Calieb(how the company spelt his name) would be out on 26 Dec., to give me this estimate and show me samples after I stated what products I am interested in as well as colors. I am purposely using the vernacular in which the representative on the phone used to set the appointment; the word estimate was used throughout the conversation. I appreciated the professionalism to this point. I was then provided a text message with Calieb's phone number and the appointment time. The 26th came and I had not heard from Calieb. I reached out in case he was trying to allow the standard celebratory holiday. He did not answer ergo I left a message. I received a text shortly there after stating he was going to come out and do the estimate at the time scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Calieb arrived late. When he entered my house he was dressed extremely casual in a wrinkled t-shirt and jeans hanging on his carcass. He went to work asking questions and writing on a piece of paper. I asked where the samples were so that I could find a product I would like in my home. At first he gave me an excuse that his other car broke down and it has all the samples in the trunk. Perplexed I listened as that story changed to, without any questions from me, he did not bring samples because he did not know he needed to bring them. Then again the story changed to no one told him to bring samples. So from a car breaking down to it is someone else's fault. Calieb knew the appointment was set for this day as long as I did. Regardless if his other car needed an alternator or a rubber band he knew he needed to make a good impression for his company and show products. For thirty minutes this guy meandered around my house taking measurements. Then he was ready to leave with a, "okay they will call you.". Who will call me? I asked where is the estimate, stating he did not bring product and has not really informed me as to what his company offers. He then levied more excuses. Some casual numbers that were 100 sq. ft. over on flooring measurements he said he took were dropped in a conversation but he was going to have a "designer" call me. My home is my greatest investment. I do not need a perfunctory professional company recklessly making excuses, blaming someone else and indiscriminately botching my investment with substandard work. Whose fault is it when the measurements are off? How about those extra 100 sq. ft.? The rub for all of this, whilst Calieb was making excuses for not being prepared as well as blaming others, he tells me I can see samples if I go to their showroom. Their showroom that is over 45 miles one way. Because excuses and wasting a customers time made more sense to this Affordable Interiors LLC., then doing a professional job. Designers be damned; the layout of my home is not changing. I needed floors and countertops. I needed prices and products to make an educated comparison and thus a decision on what company to utilize for my flooring and countertop needs. I already knew what colors I wanted and said as much to the representative on the phone scheduling the estimate. Which really was not an estimate it was a measurement; albeit a rather erroneous measurement considering the 100 sq. ft. that was added for no reason or explanation. I informed Calieb his time could have been spared had he informed me he did not have samples and was not going to give me an actual estimate with factual measurements as well as costs. Calieb sheepishly left. From this I learned that Affordable Interiors LLC., hires incompetent and ill-prepared people to just wander around your home for thirty minutes haphazardly slapping a tape measure around taking measurements that will be in their favor. It is not like one would be able to measure appropriately without a laser for countertops. As for the flooring I already knew how many square feet I needed as this was my third estimate. Calieb padded the numbers 100 extra square feet. I did not need a designer to call me, I needed an estimate with some idea what products I would be interested in having installed in my home. Basically it was one excuse after another, someone else's fault and a lackadaisical attempt at taking measurements so that I could get the runaround from someone else? I was left thinking the word affordable was used with a broad stroke seeings how employees do not make enough money to repair their personal vehicles in a timely manner, dress professionally, arrive on time prepared muchless have any tangible products. Yet they want a designer to take lead when a designer is not needed for what, to pad the numbers more? I could only imagine the work crew showing up like a wrecking ball to my home with ill-fitting countertops, cutouts not in the correct place, the wrong color floors and more excuses. Alas it really is not affordable if you have to have it done twice because of the aforementioned business management style thus far of Affordable Interiors LLC. That is first impressions. That speaks directly to why I will not use this company. I can only hope you, reading this review, take heed as this could be you next. I thought with all the great reviews they would be a contender reality offered a clearer perspective.
