They were very good! They did great work! I thought they were very honest, reasonable and didn't try to convince me to buy extra repairs that were not needed.
Description of Work: They did troubleshooting for electrical problems with the outdoor lighting.

They did what they were asked to do. Work was a little sloppy and they cut through two beams in a way that left them unsound structurally. So I had to go in behind them and add some bracing. But the work they did perform was according to code. In addition to the power outlet being relocated we also had them re-wire two exterior lights whos power cabeling had shorted out. They did this part of the work to code as well. I have no complaints about the quality of the work - but the cost was unjustifiably high. As I would have been the fourth generation member of my family in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) I knew what work needed to be done and could have handled it myself, but the County required that it be performed by a licensed electrician. So we had to pay - and their price was in line with other quotes. Just be sure that you get a complete and detailed description of what is and is not included in the quoted price, because once they start working any additions or changes are very costly as by that point they know they are already there and you are not going to have other companies come out to give you a bid, so changes are VERY expensive.
Description of Work: Rewired the power supply to the hot tub on the deck. The previous owners had installed the existing outlet themselves and it was within 2' of the hot tub, which is not allowed by code. So to get maintenance on the hot tub done we had to have the power supply moved the adequate distance away from the hot tub. An expensive cost to move something just a couple of feet. We also had to have two exterior lights re-wired as the wiring had been damaged, shorted, or for whatever reason was not working any longer.

Jerry and his wife are very, very nice people who take what they do very seriously. Jerry came highly recommended by contractors friends and we were not disappointed. He's more expensive than some other electricians, but he is very, very thorough and talks over all the options with you before proceeding with any job. He's really good at giving estimates for both time and money, AND he'll take on jobs of any size from fixing an outlet to putting in a new service panel. I would trust him with any of my electrical needs. He was especially helpful when I called him about our electricity cutting in and out for days on end. He came out and spent a lot of time trying to get the problem to repeat itself and we ran all sorts of tests. He left me with some equipment so I could try some testing on my own. He eventually identified the problem as being with our electrical service from the city and was extremely concerned about us losing all of our appliances should the power surge out completely. He told me who to call with the city and what to tell them and when they wouldn't take responsibility for the problem initially, he said he would call them for me. The city eventually came out and replaced our power line from the street to the house and the problem was resolved.
Description of Work: Jerry Burns came out and inspected my entire house shortly after we bought it. (It's almost 100 years old and the wiring was last updated in the 60s.) He ended up replacing many of our outlets with GFIs, installing a few new outlets, replacing the wiring from our house to the garage with new, below ground conduit, installing a new baseboard upstairs, and replacing some old wiring in the basement. He also came out months later when our electricity was cutting in and out very badly and identified a problem with our main line to the street.
