Description of Work: Our 10 year old Amana built-in refridgerator/freezer wasn't working and eveything in the freezer had melted. I contacted Amana's factory service line instead of Angie's List because Amana is now owned by Whirlpool (KitchenAid). Ron at Smart Appliance was recommended and I was able to make a service appointment immediately. Ron was really nice over the phone and when he hit a snafu in his schedule on the day of my appontment he offered to come out the very next day, which was a Saturday. Once he arrived, Ron immediately asked me questions and explained in clear terms what might be wrong with the fridge. As it turned out, the issue is very costly so he recommended that I replace rather than continue trying to service it. His candor, genuinely nice disposition and honestly were terrific. He charged me a reasonable rate and gave me tha name and number of an appliance company he says has great customer service and reasonable pricing.

+ -1 moreOverall, it went well. They asked questions before they arrived so they could anticipate the problem beforehand, which I appreciated. They had to come out twice, but didn't charge for the second service call.
Description of Work: They replaced a motor control board in my Maytag washing machine, and identified another problem as well.

+ -1 moreFirst, I had trouble finding anyone in the Seattle area who actually works on Maytag gas ovens. When I found these guys, I called to make an appointment, they came out to look at the oven, called Maytag, decided it needed a new igniter, ordered the part, scheduled another appointment to come out and install the new part. The oven now works fine. The estimate was accurate, and the price seemed reasonable.
Description of Work: Repaired a Maytag gas oven that was sometimes not lighting or not staying lit.
